Velvet Hangers, Heather Gray Set of 50

I ordered 2 packages of these though I was a little bit nervous after I read a bunch of the negative reviews. I just rec'd them and have already hung up a few items & tossed the old hangers. I'm not sure what other reviews are referring to re: the velvet rubbing off on clothing. I rubbed my thumb on the velvet with quite a bit of pressure and none of it came off. Maybe over time it will eventually rub off but I'm not worried as it seems well coated. Pros: My closet already looks more spacious! I also like the fact that the velvet grips the clothing and the notches also help prevent clothing items from sliding off onto the floor. They are perfect for hanging the majority of my clothing (dresses & tops). I went from all Ikea wooden hangers (which are very nice but take up a TON of space) to these and I couldn't be happier. Cons: The hook part doesn't swivel so if you hang something up incorrectly, you'll have to re-hang it. I also like hanging my outfit for the next day on my bedroom door -- since the hook doesn't swivel, that would be difficult to do with these hangers. These hangers might not be sturdy enough to hang coats or other heavy clothing from -- and I wouldn't use them for pants or anything that you'd want to drape over the bottom part of the hanger. Also, if you're someone who loves to tear the clothing off the hanger (vs. carefully removing it), these are not the hangers for you as they would probably break (or you'd ruin your clothing).

I love the no slip hangers for my clothes. We’ve been buying these for years on Amazon. After a while we found that some of the hooks can come out of the hangers but that’s after a lot of wear and tear. That’s also not every hanger, it’s only been maybe 10 we’ve had to throw out over the last year because the hooks separated from the rest of the hanger. Not to mention that they look as cute as they are pictured.

I don't know if you know, but when you buy these wonderfully felt-velvety-like hangers in this 50 pack-- they are not any more expensive than the plastic ones that you can buy anywhere. ~~If you are like me and have many clothes, that are of good quality and a lot of tops that are in style recently, have wide necks or off the shoulder, and they would never stay on my hangers -- always falling off or making more work for me, in the long run.... these are thin and don't take up too much space (like the wooden-style, that some prefer or think are the best)! I absolutely LOVE these and have made organizing my closet an enjoyment rather than a chore... so if you have loads of clothes that always are half-hanging on the hangers you have.... Buy these, they are very affordable and very well worth the money and like I said, I think they work out to cost less per hanger, when you buy them in this 50 pack....50 cents-60cents per hanger... I also want to mention that these are much better to keep your clothes on; say like how most people don't like to hang up their sweaters (because they stretch them out) or with delicate items such as silk, other hangers can snag the material, with these, the felt or velvet makes it so that you position them on they way you want and it stays put and no snags that I have had a problem with... I have bought 3 boxes now of these and think that everyone should buy these!!! They make your closet look way more organized and neat!!

I recently was looking for a way to maximize space in my tiny closet (without having to donate more of my already minuscule wardrobe) when I came across a similar set of velvet hangers in an issue of REAL SIMPLE magazine. I loved the idea, and after doing some research, I decided to purchase this set of similar hangers for a few reasons: (A) This set was a great value for the quantity. Most of the competitors offering similar sets charge $20-30 for sets of only 10-20! These were far more reasonable when you are considering replacing ALL of your hangers with velvet one. (B) The hangers are a nice shape/size. Many of the alternatives do not have the option of folding pants over the bottom bar and often wind up being too flimsy without the reinforcement the bottom offers. Additionally, some of the alternatives have extra hooks (for daisy chaining hangers), but these too often wind up tangling the hangers when you try to pull them out of your closet. Unlike some of the other reviews, I have not had any issues with these hangers durability. First, no hangers arrived broken and even after two months of consistant use, there have been no breaks in my set. To maximize the longevity of these hangers you just need to remember that they are designed to be thin, and are NOT FLEXIBLE. If you bend them to try to squeeze them into a shirt, they will probably break. Being a smaller female, I have had to adjust how I hang up certain tops a bit (t-shirts, for instance, require sticking the hanger in from the bottom, rather than the neck), and it can be a touch difficult to hang smaller articles of clothing (If you are particularly petite, you might consider the "children's sized" hangers for ease of hanging). Additionally, they seem pretty strong (they seem to do okay with even my suit jackets and pants), but I do not think I would recommend them for particularly heavy garments (wool coats, wedding dresses or formal gowns...stick to wood/steel hangers for these!) Second, none of the velvet has "rubbed off" of the hangers onto my clothes. I selected the black color because much of my clothing is dark, but even so, I have yet to see any evidence of black fluff on my white tops. Third, the hooks have not detached on any of my hangers. As with the flexibility issue, it should be noted that you cannot turn the hooks on these hangers. This can be a touch annoying when you accidentally hang a shirt up backwards, but is really only a small inconvenience for the price of the set. This set of hangers is a great value for anyone looking to reorganize their closet to maximize space. After replacing my existing hangers with these (even with a few tank-tops hung on a single hanger in some cases), my clothing takes up HALF of the space it initially did. Plus, I love the uniform look these hangers give to my closet, making it seem even more organized despite holding the same wardrobe as before. They are not perfect, and may require some retraining when it comes to hanging up clothes, but the extra space they provide is well worth it!

I've been using these hangers in the Tan color for years and just bought the Ivory set to replenish a little. They last a very long time, except a few that broke under heavier garments. These are perfect for dresses, blouses, cardigans, and other similar clothes but won't stand up to leather or wool jackets. They are quite thin and help me achieve a clean and organized look in my closet. My tab ones started to get a little dirty looking with color transfer from clothes so I'm really happy to replenish with the ivory. My only complaint is that the box came dented, however none of the hangers were broken so it's fine.

I LOVE these! I wasn't sure they were worth the expense and I didn't think they would really save much space, if any, until I got them. I share a tiny, TINY closet with my husband and these hangers have given us TWICE the space we had with plastic hangers. I always had a problem with things falling off the plastic and wooden hangers, but nothing falls off these no matter how small, large v-necked or silky. I even hung all my skirts, folded in half on them and they stay in place. No more picking stuff off the closet floor or rearranging things that have started to slide off. They also look really nice and neat in the closet. I am only keeping a few of my plastic hangers for air drying (the only thing these hangers can't do)! The rest are going away and being replaced by these hangers made of awesome. It does take an extra second or two to put things on them, but they won't slide off which ultimately saves time. Especially not having to rewash/iron things that have fallen on the floor. Just ordered 2 more boxes for the other closets. :)

I couldn't wait for these to arrive. My closet needed a huge cleaning and these hangers were going to make the difference. I opened the box and right away, one was broken, but I thought okay, I bought a box of 50 so I have 49 good ones. I put a pile of 25 hangers on the bed while I gathered clothes to put on them. I was hanging clothes and looked back at the bed and oh my, under the pile of hangers was a mound of "black velvet shreds", looking very much like the etch-a-sketch insides! I went to wipe it off the duvet and got it all over my hands. I can't tell yet if the velvet comes off on white clothes. Maybe someone else knows? The other issue about them is they are pretty flimsy. Some of my heavier cardigan sweaters are being hung on a rod fairly high up in the closet and when I hold the hanger with the item on it, the hanger gets very "bendy" and has a hard time being put in place. I don't think they will break but I was surprised at their mediocre their quality. I should have paid the extra and bought the original Joy Mangano Huggable Hangers® on Home Shopping Network or elsewhere. I've already begun the closet cleanup and I don't want to stop and send these back but I don't recommend these at all for anyone else considering the same purchase.

Good lord, are these really the first thing I ever bought on Amazon?! (Yes, veritably, they were.) When even was that? Was I a child at that point? Not quite, but these hangers are still the ones that are in my closet today, and it's been, eh, roughly seven years. They are in fact so reliable I never would have even thought to review there (were I not to scroll to the depths of my order history) but I've gotta give some serious credit to the little guy here. Thanks, hangers, for doing your job well enough that I never have to think about you! I've snapped several over the years - tends to happen if I (in my supreme laziness) try to grab a dress off the hanger while it's still in the closet. But with a fifty-pack (or two), it's not a huge deal. They hold the clothes on really well, including more slippery-type materials, and have the little nook if you want to put the strap of your spaghetti-strap-type items in it. Obviously, they're a classy black, relatively inobtrusive, and slim in profile. What more can I say? Solid choice here.

Me sorprendieron muchísimo estos ganchos, la calidad es excelente, ninguna prenda se resbala como me pasaba con otros ganchos que he tenido. Son super bonitos y combinan muy bien con mi closet. Solo como consejo recomendaría comprar 100 ganchos si tienen mucha ropa pues con 50 no me alcanzó para acomodar toda mi ropa.

I'm loving these hangers so far and I no longer have to deal with wide-necked shirts falling off plastic hangers or sweaters and delicate tops getting deformed with shoulder humps/horns. Those were the bane of my existence and meant I had to keep so many tops and sweaters folded in my dresser to prevent those horrible stretched out shoulders! The downside to folding certain materials is the wrinkles plus obvious creases where they've been folded... there always seems to be some annoying downside to my clothing organization method! The velvet hangers prevent heavy sweaters or thin, delicate materials from sliding down (like typical plastic hangers) which can cause protruding bumps on the shoulders (sometimes permanently ruining a top!) Now, I hang my tops up and they stay on the hanger without getting deformed when I finally come to wear them! I think the quality of the hangers is excellent so far, I've had no issues yet with the black velvet shedding or rubbing off on my clothes. I'll update if this ever changes.

I've purchased 4 packs of these and really like them. I have a lot of dress shirts, hoodies, jackets, etc. The 2 selling points of these are: - Non-slip, no need to button up every shirt - Very thin, about 1/2 the width of any regular hanger The swivel is also a very nice feature. Although I don't use them for pants, they do hold well and prevent creases Warning: These aren't ideal for t-shirts or anything with a small neck hole, it gets stuck and I prefer plastic hangers for this
