LEATHERMAN, MOLLE Compatible Large Nylon Sheath with Pockets for Multitools, Made in the USA, Fits 4" and 4.5" Tools - Black

I originally bought one a few years back, to replace the factory provided sheath for my Supertool 300. It turns out, the extra large version of this sheath is actually too large for the Supertool. But it made a great carrier for a large diameter flash light that I have. The Velcro is extremely rugged and held on longer than the nylon could. After a couple of years, the sharp angle of the base of my flashlight finally cut through the material, but the Velcro was still holding strong. So I replaced it with another one. Also, these also fit G17 17 round magazines very nicely, in Minecraft. So, I bought a third, because apparently, I play Minecraft. If you really want a sheath for your Supertool, just buy the large version. It should work fine. I've just taken to carrying mine in my pocket or off body.

This LEATHERMAN case is original and made in the USA. It has the extra pockets. I ordered the TAN color today and already had the black one. Both are identical, except the color difference. Very nice. Made well.

Durable pouch for my leather-man.

The large size is too big for a surge and it swallows the tool, making it frustrating to retrieve (especially if you use it daily). But it fits the surge, a tiny pair of knipex pliers, and a bit extender with a malco bit.

So this is the third or fourth sheath I have bought for my Leatherman OHT, which I have had for about 5 years so far. I wear it nearly every weekday working in the maintenance field and each one lasts just a little over a year. During the time I wear it, it is constantly being bumped, scraped, dragged over asphalt and concrete parking lots, stucco buildings, roofing surfaces and whatnot. In my experience I feel this little piece of kit is made very well. I have had the previous XL sized sheaths and what sets this one apart from the others is a really neat integrated pouch on the inside flap. It also has two elastic bands on the outside whereas the other XL model did not, but was still a good sheath. I have found that over time, the cordura material at the bottom of the pouch gets worn, abraded and tears after a while(I consider this normal wear and tear and by no means any type of defect) so what I do now is coat it inside and out with a thin layer of silicone caulking which seems to help. A hiking friend told me to try “tenacious tape” so I’ll give that a shot this time around. I will certainly be purchasing this again in due time. Great product!

Biggest Leatherman pouch you can buy to hold a Leatherman Surge multitool

One thing many people don’t realize as, as a guy they literally just give us more pockets or belt accessories instead of purses. This accessory pairs well with my Lee pants. When I’m using my 5.11 pants this will not be needed. Finally feel I can use more pairs of my pants again.

Got this sheath about 6 weeks ago for my Leatherman Surge, and have worn and used it often. The velcro is pretty aggressive (a good thing), and it holds my extra file that came with my Leatherman as well as one of the 2 bit set sleeves. I could stuff the 2nd bit set sleeve into the main pouch with my multitool, but then it would be too tight a fit in my opinion, and make it a little tight getting my Surge out of the sheath. I really like the Molle functionality on the back, so you can attach it to your Molle compatible pack, or adjust it just how you like it on your belt. Overall, Much, much, much better than the original sheath that came with the surge, which I liked for about 5 minutes until its failings became painfully obvious. I was considering getting the Maxpedition single pouch, but as this was a less expensive, and had small pouches in it to allow extra storage for my Leatherman stuff, I chose this one, although I'm sure the Maxpedition quality is excellent. I have not used the elastic loop on the side of the sheath yet, as I don't currently have a flashlight that will fit, and I don't feel comfortable putting Leatherman bit extender in it, as I think it would work its way loose and fall out over time. UPDATE: Since purchase date, I wore my Surge pretty regularly on my belt for about the first 3-4 months, then it found its way into my car bag, still housing the Surge within it as well as the bit extender, extra saw blade, and ½ of the bit kit. So it saw very regular use for 3-4 months, then not very regular use for the next 8 months. I must say I am overall disappointed. There is only one problem I have with this sheath, but it is pretty major. None of the seams have come apart, and the Molle-compatible webbing in the back still seems to work fine. None of the stitching has come undone, and it still looks great. The velcro, however, which was quite aggressive on first purchase, now doesn't work pretty much at all, making this sheath more or less useless. I could never carry this on my belt now, as a stiff breeze will pop the front flap open. I still like the design of this sheath, however, which I think was well thought-out, but it would appear that during manufacture they chose an inferior loop side of the velcro, which has poor longevity. If they replaced this hook-and-loop with a better material, it would make this a much better sheath that I would still be using. However, I have had to replace it with the aforementioned Maxpedition single pouch, which in all honesty, does seem to be built much sturdier. I wish I could say I continue to recommend this product, but I can't.

Zeer tevreden over het Leatherman grote MOLLE-hoesje in zwart (maat L). Het hoesje is stevig, goed afgewerkt en biedt uitstekende bescherming voor de multitool. De MOLLE-bevestiging is robuust en blijft perfect zitten op riem, tas of vest. De sluiting voelt betrouwbaar aan en het formaat is ideaal voor grotere Leatherman-modellen. Hoogwaardige kwaliteit zoals je van Leatherman mag verwachten en perfect voor dagelijks gebruik of outdooractiviteiten. Absoluut een aanrader.

Die Tasche ist aus sehr robustem Nylongewebe und wird vorne über einen großen Klett-Verschluss geschlossen/geöffnet (ca. 5x8cm Haken oben / 5x10cm Flausch unten), der größenverstellbar ist und sich auf jedes Leatherman von mittlerer bis großer Größe einstellen lässt. Auch große Leathermans können sowohl nach unten- wie auch nach oben gedreht in die Tasche gesteckt werden, passen aber (natürlich) nicht in die Tasche mit ausgeklappter Zange. Unter dem Verschluss, quasi am unteren Ende der Tasche befindet sich vorne ein robust genietetes Ablaufloch um Wasser abfließen zu lassen, das ggf. in die Tasche gelangt ist. Auf der Hinterseite der Tasche befindet sich ein Molle-kompatibler Gurt, der mit einem (ebenfalls sehr) robusten Druckknopf geschlossen/geöffnet werden kann, sowie vier darunter liegende Molle-Schlaufen. Seitlich des Hauptfaches ist elastisches Gewebe angebracht und innerhalb gibt es das bereits erwähnte Hauptfach, sowie zwei darüber liegende engere Einschubfächer. Wenn man die Tasche clever nutzt, kann man hier auch neben einem sehr großen Leatherman (z. B. dem Surge oder dem Supertool 300 etc.) wirklich alles unterbringen, was man ggf. noch zusätzlich benötigt. Natürlich hat die Tasche mit all den oben aufgeführten Zusätzen entsprechende Außenmaße und ein relativ hohes Gewicht(ca. 14,5cm/6,5cm/5,5 cm/ 700gr.) so dass sie sich in dieser Form für viele "normale" Leute eher als solide Toolsammlung im Handschuhfach oder am Rucksack etc. verstauen lässt, als am Gürtel. Aber man kann die Tasche natürlich auch nur ausschließlich mit einem Leatherman mittlerer oder großer Größe bestücken um die Tasche so etwas leichter am Gürtel tragen zu können. Fazit: Eine absolute Kaufempfehlung für alle, die ein Leatherman in mittlerer bis großer Größe haben (alles, was größer als das Leatherman Juice ist), egal ob sie hier noch zusätzliche Tools oder z. B. das Leatherman Bit Kit dabei haben wollen. Einzig die Optik ist nicht gerade dezent oder elegant, wie bei einer Ledertasche. Wessen Augenmerk aber eher auf eine kompakte, robuste und funktionale Leatherman-Tasche gerichtet ist, wird hier keinesfalls enttäuscht! Wichtig vielleicht noch zu erwähnen, dass man davon ausgehen muss, dass Klett-Verschlüsse meines Wissens nach etwa tausend mal geöffnet werden können, bis sich die Haken verabschieden und der Klett nicht mehr schließt. Das heißt, dass sich die vordere Abdeckung nach entsprechender Zeit nicht mehr schießen lassen wird. Jeder kann sich ja nun selber in etwa ausrechnen, wie oft er täglich an sein Multitool geht und wie lange der Verschluss an dieser Tasche hier hält.
