Already helping relieve shoulder pain after a few uses
Husband's chiropractor suggested this shoulder horn for his rotator cuff pain. After only a few days of use he already has more range of movement. Husband is 6'3, 180lbs. He thought this medium/large size would be to small but it was the largest option to order. It works good.

This is the real deal for rotator cuff training and rehab. Worth every penny.
This product is the real deal. Worth every penny. I actually bought one more than 25 years ago when I developed severe pain in my shoulders doing heavy bench presses. I was looking at surgery. Careful rehab with it eliminated pain and strengthened my shoulder for very heavy lifting as well as improved my overall flexibility. I used it for a couple of years and then gave it to a friend. After a 14 year break, I started lifting again, but the supporting muscular structure in my shoulders had weakened. While I could do the shoulder rotation exercises freehand, the freehand load is not properly isolated. The shoulder horn is far more effective than freehand. It focuses and isolates the load to the rotator muscles and not at all on just holding arms in position. The difference is immediately apparent. The shoulder horn really works. This looks to be the exact same product that I bought years ago. It now comes with a nice pamphlet that outlines the shoulder structure and how to strengthen the supporting muscles. Follow the directions in the pamphlet exactly as outlined. They are spot on and this device really, really, really works. Be sure to follow their directions on weight. Use light weights. You want to get into the 15-25 rep range. Your goal is 25 reps. Don't train to failure. When you can comfortably do 25 reps, you can increase the sets to a few. Don't up the weights past the 10-12 pounds they recommend. That is all you need. I don't have 5-12 pound dumbbells, but I can hold a 5 or 10 pound plate in each hand and train effectively.

Wonderfully effective
Background: I messed up my shoulder royally from a workout injury 14 years ago. Ever since then, I've not been able to heavy bench press (though I could overhead press). I've continued to work out regularly since then, but have had to modify my exercises to avoid heavy pressing or other things that could worsen the injury. I even did Airrosti rehab for several weeks a year ago, to no avail. I talked to an orthopedic surgeon earlier this year about subacromial decompression surgery. An MRI eight months ago didn't identify any large rotator cuff tears (which was surprising to me given the painfulness of my condition), so we treated the injury with periodic cortisone shots in the back of the shoulder. Product review: I finally happened along this product online about two months ago and was intrigued by the reviews. I decided $75 was a small price to pay for the potential of helping rehab my shoulder. Whatever exactly was wrong with my shoulder is being addressed surprisingly effectively by exercising with this little device. I use it twice a week for 2-3 sets each of about 15-20 reps. The clicking in my shoulder has greatly decreased, and for the first time in a long time I've been able to sleep without the shoulder feeling impinged and loose. I can tell these exercises are strengthening the back of the shoulder to provide balance to the rotator cuff muscles again. This device has been so much more effective than trying to mimic the same exercises without the shoulder horn. The way it stabilizes the shoulder in the right position so you can focus on the problem area has been tremendously helpful. I'm not back to 100% yet, but this is the best my shoulder has been in a long, long time.

Addresses an important yet often ignored aspect of overall fitness.
I've worked out for over 45 years doing all the typical strength building exercises and also was a wrestler in my younger days. Not understanding how important it is to exercise muscles that protect the rotator cuff, I neglected them and focused on anterior, middle, and rear deltoid exercises all of these years. I've only been using the shoulder horn for a short period of time, but can already feel the positive effects.......my shoulders just feel stronger and I no longer have pain in my shoulders when sleeping at night. The booklet that comes with the device is a very well-written guide that explains how the rotator cuff works, its vulnerabilities, and how to strengthen the muscles that support the cuff. A seemingly simple device that is made well, yet its function follows form and is well worth its cost.

and I was shocked that 4 pounds created a burn in my rear shoulder like nothing else I have ever done
I have been doing shoulder exercises for about 8 years now out of necessity. I went through several weeks of physical therapy for an injury, and since then I have had to continue the exercises to prevent pain in my shoulder. I had worked up to 15 pounds on each side lying prone on the bench and extending my arms out straight to the side, back and front. I thought I had strong external rotators. Well, I just used the Shoulderhorn, and I was shocked that 4 pounds created a burn in my rear shoulder like nothing else I have ever done. This device targets the external rotators precisely and isolates them from assistance by the large muscles. I am 71", 160 lb, male with a small frame. The medium large fits me quite well. I can't recommend the Shoulderhorn strongly enough.

expensive, but durable and effective
I'm 5'10'' and 180 lbs and the medium/large fits great. It is comfortable, and does exactly what it shows in the photo, supporting your arms and shoulders while performing exercise. The only reason it got 4 stars is because of cost....it is just molded plastic and a pipe wrap....I get it that it is a specialty piece of equipment, and that increases the cost, but the raw materials to create this thing has to be next to nothing. That being said, it should last forever, and performs exactly as you would expect.

A rotator cuff device or a Dance frame device
Got this on a recommendation from a dance instructor. Am using it to establish muscle memory for proper frame position while ballroom dancing. It works perfectly, and will have it around if I ever have rotator cuff issues. Device arrived securely packaged and on time.
