Removes more than just sand like particles.
It fits perfectly and is easy to change. The 5 micron carbon filter is perfect. I tried a 1micron carbon filter that had a very short life.

Good for RV whole house filters.
I use these cartridges in our RV's whole house filter. Works great, not taste, water comes out clear. Tip - Rinse any loose carbon dust off the cartridges before putting them in the canister.
