Finally, I have found a sturdy, well constructed, rotary cheese grater as good as the one that I had years ago in Italy. The TONMA 18/8 Japanese stainless steel is superior to the Chinese knock-offs made with thinner 18/10 material, and the rubber gasket prevents fine metal shavings being incorporated into our grated cheese. Having been taught to cook by my adopted Italian granny, I really make use of this tool. The blades on this model are ideal for quickly & easily grating of Parmigiano Reggiano, Pecorino Romano, and other hard cheeses for our family recipes. I would recommend hand washing the drum in order to avoid an automatic dishwasher's high drying temperature that has been shown to damage such gaskets as these. To be sure, I intend to buy at least two more for my mother-in-law and my wife's grandmother. Grazie mille!

Very sturdy. Sturdier than the Boska that broke, but the Boska has more teeth and grades much faster

1: if the cheese is not perfectly centered in the funnel, it will not shred. 2: The clip that locks/unlocks the funnel for cleaning broke completely off after about 6 uses. 3: The crank handle began to slip where it is attached to the grating roller. So the handle would turn but the grating roller would not. This started about the same time the clip broke off. Get the little cheap plastic ones, they are much better quality, and easier to use.

Decent value for the price. The quality is lower than expected but it works. It’s easy to use and clean. The only issue I have is it’s cheaply made and I suspect it won’t last very long.

My quest for the perfect grater for Parm continues. My family and I go through a lot of Parmesan, so we go through a lot of graters. This one has a strong design, with the steel rod reinforcement of the handle. The blades are reasonably sharp, and cut well. I like the size of the shreds. The handle of the grater wheel is the weak aspect of this design. To eliminate metal-on-metal squeaking when you grind, the designers put in Teflon ring bearings on both sides of the grater wheel, where it sits in the handle. This reduces the squeaking, but the metal handle attaches to the grater wheel on the Teflon ring on the right side. This attachment is too weak, and gave away in the time between when I bought this and the time I am writing the review (less than a month, maybe 10 usages of the grater). I have tools that enabled me to fix this, but this is a critical design flaw. This fix may last a day, or maybe I'll never have to fix it again (and go easier on the squeezing pressure when grinding - perhaps I exceeded design specifications with my lust for Parm...). If anyone can design the perfect hand wheel style cheese grater, the world will beat a path to your door!

We are happy with this cheese grater. We love that it is stainless steel and it finally shreds our cheese. It’s pretty durable and easy to clean. It’s small enough to fit in our drawer, which is nice. It leaves a slim slice of cheese, not grated.

It was rather flimsy, to grate parm cheese was difficult, it wanted to bend!

This is beautiful and heavy duty, will last a long while in my kitchen. Not one thing flimsy about it. Perfect for restaurants and my home.

Product is excellent in every respect. Well built, good design features and effective in use on cheese or raw vegetablrs.

What more to say its grates the cheese like a dream perfect for pasta and pizza.

The handle is not firmly connected to the grater. Item doesn’t really work after a few uses.

It worked well while it did... Almost 2 years in now.. it broke 2 months ago and now it's useless.. can't repair it. I would expect pastic to brake like it did but not steel.

This is my second purchase, this time for a friend.
