Is it water resistant?

I am a Florida house painter and I wear it every day. This watch gets rinsed with a garden hose or faucet many times each day, and is still ticking without any fogging or condensation. I don't submerge it or shower with it however.

What type of battery does the 5140 use? Anyone with a dead battery?

I bought the watch in 2021 and have used it well, recently the battery died. I took a chance and tried to contact the seller and was surprised that the problem was solved perfectly immediately, excellent service would make me buy this brand of watch again! You also can replace the battery at a local jeweler. The type of battery is LR44 silver-oxide battery.

Is the strap on the small side? Does the leather strap look cheap?

The strap is really nice. Does not look cheap at all. I have an extensive watch collection & was worried about the quality due to the low price but extremely happy with how nice the watch is.

Are the hands and face luminescent? And if so how long can it glow?

Yes. But, not long. You can’t read it at a movie.
