Brother HL-5340D Mono Laser Printer

A good value printer especially if you use the extra capacity toner cartridge - 8000pages. Print quality is very good and no paper curling. Duplexing works a treat and the whole thing is reasonably quiet during printing. Software loaded no problem. Overall very happy with this purchase.

This printer has worked very well upto now but now a couple of times the paper has got stuck, I had to open it up and remove the paper about 6 times. I did some adjustments to the trays etc inside and it seems okay now, will see how long it lasts. But overall the printer works well and is very fast, the ink lasts a long time that I am very pleased about, I will never go back to a ink jet printer again thes lasers are the best. My updated review such a shame my wife destroyed the printer unintentionally so needed a upgraded one anyway.

We have several HL-5250DNs in our office which have given us years of good service. HL-5250DNs are no longer made, the HL-5340DN is the nearest equivalent so we've been buying these instead. They're descent mono duplex lasers. They an be connected by USB, network or parallel. We only use them for single-PC use because like so many cheaper lasers, the cost of cartridges is high. So as your print volumes increase you are better off getting a higher capacity printer because over the life of the printer it will work out cheaper to use.

This is my second one of these (the first one from a year ago is still working fine and on it's third or fourth toner). I am a teacher and use the printer for worksheets and printing old exam papers. The "booklet" setting is great for exam papers - even scaled down everything is clear. With Canon toner the image quality is fantastic, with cheapies it is still v good. Speed great. Reliability great. Price great. Looking round the net it seems worth replacing the printer when the drum needs replacing - hence my purchase of the second printer ready for that occurrence, (Probably after about 5 toners), when I saw the Amazon price.

would have liked to be informed that i would need a toner cartridge to use this refurbished printer. it comes in a box that fits where it touches, so not original, not that I was expecting that, what i was expecting is to use it when i plugged it in! now i have to wait for toner to arrive to see if it works, then I will have a toner thats opened non refundable because its opened, if the printer doesn't work. not good.

As I expected this is a good basic black and white only laser printer. It's a little quieter than my previous brother printer - but so far I haven't had any problems with it (and I expect none). My only gripe with this is that it came with packaging obviously not intended for UK. For example there were no written set up instructions in english (dutch and french only) and it came with a standard european plug connection rather than a UK one. Of course neither of these are huge problems (the english instructions are on the CD manual and I could use the power cable from my previous brother printer) but they were both a bit niggly when I came to open the box. A bit better quality control is required somewhere.

A very good, no nonsense printer, good duplexing function, quick in operation and not too noisy. Booklet printing very good with Windows - but does not work with Mac OSX. No English language instructions provided - but available on line. Good little printer.

Cette imprimante produit des documents de qualité avec l'avantage d'un recto-verso qui fonctionne parfaitement. Le pilote est agréable à utiliser et comporte de nombreuses options (par exemple, imprimer plusieurs pages en format réduit sur une seule feuille). Le recto-verso s'est démocratisé et à ce prix il serait dommage de ne pas en profiter car, outre la diminution de la consommation de papier, vos documents prendront moins de place. Autre point important : les consommables Brother sont abordables, et vous disposez pour cette imprimante d'un toner de rechange pour 8000 pages plus intéressant que celui de capacité 3000 pages. Le coût marginal de la page ne dépassera pas 0,13 cts (+ 1 ct pour le papier, ou 0,5 ct en recto verso). L'imprimante est livrée avec une vrai cartouche de 3000 pages, et non pas avec une cartouche à capacité limitée genre 500 ou 1000 pages comme cela semble arriver chez certains concurrents. Les autres consommables ont une durée de vie qui me semble longue et qui ne devraient pas nécessiter de changement dans le cadre d'une utilisation domestique. Le tambour est donné pour 25000 pages, ce qui vous permet de tenir près de 7 ans à raison d'une moyenne de 10 pages par jour, ce qui est déjà beaucoup pour une utilisation personnelle. Il est possible qu'au bout de 7 ans, vous préfériez la changer pour un modèle plus moderne, et que même si ce n'est pas le cas, une imprimante neuve avec un toner tout neuf vous coûte moins cher... Hélas, cela n'est guère écologique ni "développement durable" Les drivers Windows 7 32 et 64 bits sont disponibles, et il faut noter que Brother les a aussi publiés pour des modèles imprimantes datant d'il y a 5 ou 6 ans. Effort louable que n'ont pas fait tous les vendeurs de périphériques, loin s'en faut. Ce n'est pas une garantie, mais s'ils continuent dans ce sens, vous avez de bonnes chances de trouver le driver pour votre nouvelle version Windows (ou Mac ou Linux) dans les années qui viennent. J'ai tenté d'imprimer quelques photos, qui donnent un résultat très correct, en noir et blanc bien-sûr, même avec la mémoire interne de 16 Mo. La définition est automatiquement réduite. Rien de comparable évidemment avec une jet d'encre photo, mais ça peut dépanner et illustrer très proprement une documentation professionnelle. Pour finir, et pour répondre à un autre avis publié sur ce thème, je ne trouve ABSOLUMENT PAS cette imprimante bruyante !!! Elle l'est moins que mon modèle précédent (Brother 5140), et que beaucoup de celles que j'ai entendues en environnement professionnel. Surtout, elle se met très vite en veille après l'impression, et là, on n'entend plus rien (et ce avec le réglage par défaut de la mise en veille). Il n'y a donc aucune raison de se priver de cette machine à l'excellent rapport performance / prix, même si on est sensible des oreilles.

Den Lobreden in den meisten Beurteilungen ist eigentlich ja gar nichts mehr hinzuzufügen. Ich besitze den HL5340D zwar erst seit einer Woche, und kann noch keine Beurteilung über die Langzeit-Eigenschaften abgeben, aber soweit kann ich noch nichts Negatives entdecken. Schnelle und einfache Installation in einem Doppelsystem (Windows 7 und Linux) war kein Problem. Linux-Treiber gibt es auf der Download-Seite von Brother. Der haargenau passende Treiber war dort zwar nicht vorhanden, aber mit einem Treiber zu einer ähnlichen Modellreihe läuft das Teil bisher ohne Probleme. Und es läuft selbst in der Grundkonfiguration mit 16 MB auch mit größeren Dokumenten sehr flott. Von den sonstigen Problemen, die manche Nutzer berichten, war auch nichts festzustellen. Der Geräuschpegel im Betrieb ist ja wirklich nicht übermäßig. Und gestunken hat das Teil auch nicht. Es war höchstens zu Beginn eine leichte chemische Ausdünstung festzustellen - auf keinen Fall ein penetranter Gestank - aber das war wirklich nur geringfügig und nach drei Tagen vorbei. Bei Geräten, die überwiegend aus Kunststoff bestehen, wird sich das auch kaum völlig vermeiden lassen. Die Ära der Blechkarossen wird sich wohl keiner zurückwünschen. Insgesamt sehr empfehlenswert, auch mit Hinblick auf den Preis. Vor ca. 6 Jahren hat der vergleichbare Vorgänger eines anderen Herstellers ohne Duplexdruck rund das Zweieinhalbfache gekostet. Zu berücksichtigen ist auch, daß im Lieferumfang eine Tonerkassette für 3000 Seiten enthalten ist. Bei den Preisen für Original-Toner und der Tatsache, daß ansonsten Erstausstattungen mit Toner für erheblich weniger Seiten üblich sind, wird dieser Drucker noch günstiger. Mit dem Brother HL5340D werden Sie kaum etwas falsch machen. Auf jeden Fall eine volle Empfehlung.

muy robusta, la utilizamos en la oficina con bastante asiduidad y tiene buena calidad, es rápida y los recambios tienen un precio razonable
