What is the process to thicken 8oz of soda. tried to do this with included instructions but having difficulty got to be missing something

So sorry, but we have just received this question. To properly thicken 8 ounces of soda or carbonated beverages: #1. Start with a clean, dry glass (you will need a glass much taller than 8 ounces as initially, the carbonation will rise - don't worry, it will mostly settle back down after a few minutes). Put the proper amount of thickener into the dry glass (this depends upon what thickness you need - note: make sure you double the amount on directions as you wanted 8 ounces (directions are for 4 ounces). #2. Slowly pour carbonated beverage into glass over the thickener while stirring and stir for 30 seconds. #3. Wait 4 minutes, stir once and enjoy.
