Good knife
Really nice knife and feels big, weighty, and solid, no blade play at all and I like the double locking system, its easy to disengage one handed. The veff serrations cut really well and I find myself using them more than the rest of the blade. The coating gets dirty very easily but looks very nice, the knife feels very strong and can definitely handle being beat and the blade deploys quickly but maybe just flick your wrist with it a little when opening. Mine came used and had a beat box with what looked like blood on the inside but that was just one so good knife:) heres a picture of it next to my very used CRKT M16-01KS

CRKT M16-14DSFG 8 years in.
I've had two of these. The first one I left on a bed rail of my truck, it went through not one but two trailer tires. So I would definitely say it's rather stabby, however it didn't survive it's passage through the tires. Can't blame it would I not have had either. The second I've had for 8 years. It's a great knife, BUT for EDC it's got drawbacks. First is it's big. Where I work I cut down boxes and such every day. Everytime it comes out with a new employees around they definitely will pre judge you. They will be thinking you are at work swinging a sword around for your own personal gas station themed anime. The KISS system stopped working ages ago, but that is only a backup to the internal blade lock so no biggie. I had some issues with the bearings slowing up and CRKT immediately and free of charge sent me new ones. This thing is an absolute nightmare to sharpen the serrations and blade, but the steel is so good that no exaggeration I've only sharpened it probably 5 times in 8 years. 2 of them done while drunk so I did more harm than good. Knife today opens smoothly and without issue. I have big hands but this handle is really long, wish they would have used some of that length for a glass breaker or maybe and drink umbrella holder. Just throw that bad boy tip first into your Mai Thai and if a box or some packing material gets mouthy... Well you know. Last drawback is the two protrusions that are used to open the blade and to keep your hand from sliding up the blade are kind of sharp to the sides. Not even needed really on one side, but they will wear your jeans if you're like me, or god help you if you're a lady your pantyhose, sweat pants, yoga pants. I know I've been a bit comedic here, but this is a tough, very nice knife. Don't even hesitate to get one you won't be disappointed. I just wanted to share some of the realities of owning this.

Quality and good looks at a low price.
I purchased an Extrema Ratio folding knife and found some defects on it... An expensive knife like that brand should be perfect. Returned it and went back to a CRKT knife. This is fairly priced. Like my CRKT Sting boot knife. But this i think is built strong like the more expensive ones. This is the only knife made in China that looks and feels like it is made in USA. Dont worry about using this knife hard and messing it up. The price is fair enough and it is easy to replace if you lose it. Unlike the 300 dollar knives that can do the same job as this one, the price wont put a dent to your wallet. I will never buy any folding knife that is ridiculously high priced from now on. After seeing that wobbly blade on an Extema Ratio folder when it is in the closed position, i definitely had learned my lesson. I think they sent me a used knife. Why is its blade wobbly? Now I believe any folding knife will break if abused... Even if it is claimed to be a tough folding knife, it will still mess up. And those guys who use folders for chopping up firewood are making a mistake. This knife can do it but it will eventually break soon. Use an axe. Not a small folding knife. Use a fixed blade instead. Wrong tool for the wrong job. So why buy any high priced brand when this fairly priced one is as good as those expensive ones? I treat folders like they are disposable knives. If it breaks, buy another. I wont waste money on something that is too expensive but disposable. So no more Extrema Ratio folders for me. They hold up to hard use and abuse just the same way as CRKT folders.

Excellent stout knife - very impressive!
Well this is a knife! Just got it today, and my first impression was stout and great looking. The color is more sedate than the photo shows, which is good. Is it sharp? You bet!! One of the sharpest out-of-the-box knives I've ever seen. I cut myself with it, going through the opening/closing directions, and the edge barely touched my finger. I was also able to push-cut paper with it, without much effort. It did a masterful job on laminated cardboard with no forcing. Opening is quite literally a "snap". Extremely fast and easy with a forefinger nudge, and a flick-of-the-wrist. Closing requires the instructions, and some practice and dexterity - the safety locking mechanism(s) are a little too good. This knife will definitely not close on you by accident! Once in the locked open position, it will never ever close on you accidentally - it's now essentially a fixed blade knife. The blade is very thick - over an eighth inch, (measured at .134") and there's no side play. I'll have to see if side play develops with age, but it's so well built, I doubt that it will. There is a pronounced "newness" to the mechanism's bearing points, which almost has the precision feel of rubbing size-blocks together, and I suspect this will smooth out with use. As I said, it's a stout knife. I was quite surprised by its heft. The lightweight SOG Flash II's (a favorite of mine) can't hold a candle to it. It has an extraordinary weighty feel, with very good balance. It feels "big", and very substantial in my hand. It fills my hand nicely, but the "comfort" factor is below what I expected - the flipper edges make annoying contact with my skin. These right-angle edges should be rounded or broken during manufacturing (rag-wheeled or rock tumbled prior to plating and edge grinding). Just handle a Benchmade knife, and you'll see what I mean. Hard stabbing thrusts with this knife into a pile of cardboard left nasty red marks on my index finger and the web of my hand. If you don't wear gloves, you'll tire of it, and if you do, it'll eventually wear through them as well. Even just idle repeated opening became uncomfortable after awhile. This is a scary looking knife, which is a definite plus. The serrations are extremely aggressive, being angled rearward. Combined with the smart looking Tanto style, it's mean looks are quite stunning. However, the aggressive serrations are a hindrance when cutting hard objects that yield (like a 2-liter soda bottle). Unless you go at it like a savage animal, the knife tends to snag and grab, like a saw in wet wood. It has no trouble whatsoever in hard or laminated board, and will cut through a seatbelt with ease. I even tried it on sheetrock, and it did fine (not a good idea however). All knives have their limitations. It would make a perfect utility knife, for around the house, or even the campsite. You might toy with the idea of using it for personal carry. It has those attributes I look for in a carry-knife. I prefer to carry scary things, and it certainly fills that bill. The only obstacle to it is a very tight clip, which has already worn a fray on the edge of my jeans pocket. You could purchase a Blackhawk tactical pistol mag pouch at Walmart - problem solved. All-in-all, an A+ knife, which I'm glad I purchased. It's extremely well designed and constructed, and I recommend it highly for just about anything - utility, camping, personal carry, tool box, bug-out bag, you name it. I down-rated it because of the sharp flipper edges. It's still worth every penny. 4 stars. .

One tough CRKT tactical folder.
This tactical CRKT folding knife has just been added to my collection. When it comes to folders, I always try them for 5 to 10 working days once received, this knife could become my favorite EDC knife, it is that good! I like my EDC folders to be on a large side (Cold Steel Spartan, CRKT Natural, KaBar Bobcat etc.), this knife is solid, extremely sharp specially the serrations!it fits my large hands so well, it opens very quickly and has a safety lock that after a few tries becomes second nature, it is not too heavy but has some heft to it, you can also put the pocket clip in four (4)separate positions, I like tip down for lefties (like me LOL). The finish is also 1st class, I highly recommend this blade to our brave members of the military or law enforcement, this blade could possibly save a life if not yours, this knife is also recommended to all responsible citizens. Best folding knife for general purpose use
Same knife I had in Battalion. As sturdy as a fixed blade when locked, smooth, very sturdy blade. Serrations are awesome and come sharp. You should sharpen the straight edge. It can fit easily in a pocket and deploys as fast as a switchblade if you catch the flippers. Sturdy and thick blade, very durable.
