Do yourself a favor -- keep these in stock if you have an electric tea maker!!!
Don't know why, but these cleaner packets really, really work. My husband loves his new Breville tea maker but isn't terribly fastidious about keeping it clean. As the stains began to increase, he finally tried one of these packets, following directions, and was completely blown away by how easy and successful the cleaning process was. Said the tea tasted as good afterwards as it had when the machine was brand new. He now uses them weekly and routinely reminds me to buy more of them for him. He's been known to recycle the cleaning fluid after use in his Breville by pouring it into clean but stained tea mugs, even an electric egg boiler with scale accumulating on it. Presto! His tea mugs now look fresh and unstained, and his egg boiler is working smoothly again. Short of a magic wand, I don't ever expect to find anything else as inexplicably but simply effective as these little packets. Expensive, people say? Worth absolutely every penny, I say. P.S. If you're a tea fanatic and haven't tried the Breville yet, you've got a treat coming to you. My husband refused for 3 years to let me buy him one and only gave in with very poor grace a few months ago. It's now the favorite thing in his life (after me, of course!). Perfect tea, again and again, without having to wait or to keep track of time? Having it stay hot once it's ready, in case he got distracted and doesn't get back to it for a little while? He's totally thrilled, even after claiming furiously that he'd been making tea for decades and didn't need a multi-hundred-dollar machine to do it for him. Guess what? It's a luxury to be able to do something else while it's in the works and not to have to worry about it coming out right. He uses it three or four times a day. A huge win!

One packet equals brand new looking results!
Amazing results! Prior to use I had tried the boiling water, sugar, and white vinegar method with little to no effect. Ordered and received the Breville cleaner and the first packet produced results exceeding my expectations. My Breville tea pot and the basket look brand new. I’m actually blown away by how well it worked the first time.

Works like magic!
This cleaner is amazing. I cannot believe how clean it makes my Breville tea maker. It's like magic! I don't know what else to say except, if you have the Breville tea maker get this cleaner (and maybe find out if it can be used on other similar tea makers.

It really works as described
I was confident the stains from years of brewing black teas were there to stay. It’s not like I haven’t already put some elbow grease into cleaning it. I generally pour off the brewed tea and rinse immediately hoping to prevent this kind of mess. The box comes with 4 packets. I anticipated it would take all 4 to bring back a little sparkle back. 1 packet and it looks brand new. I wish I’d taken a before shot. Any picture I take now would like a new tea brewer right out of the box. Both bottom and glass are bright as new. What took years to accumulate is gone in 10 minutes. I brewed it twice cuz well I’m a Doubting Thomas. It does exactly what it says. That’s kinda rare these days.

Best cleaner ever!!!
This is the best cleaner ever! I have used it many times and decided to try a less expensive brand. That was horrible and didn’t clean well at all. I ordered the Brevil cleaner again and my pot looks brand new. I’m takes all of the stain away. So worth the money. I usually do a deep clean every few months. After it is done, I pour the left over hot solution in my tea drink container so it cleans that as well.

Love this tea pot
I never could get the tea right and either over seeped it or got the water too hot. This is great that I can just measure in the leaves, picked the type of brew, turn on and walk away until it is done. It makes perfect tea every time and easy to clean. It is expensive but hey, I have perfect tea every time which was never with my using a electric timed tea kettle and seeping.

Epensive-Worth the Money-but I have a complaint
This product is easy to use, with one - important - caveat. The directions follow a developing - and ridiculous - pattern of tiny, low contrast printing on the product packet itself, rather than printing large fonts in contrasting colors on the larger, non-reflective surfaces of the outside box. I suspect that people who buy the most expensive, elaborate, single-purpose tea maker on the mass market probably do not have the best eyesight -- i.e., they are old enough to have put effort into selecting types of tea, given thought to preparation and serving styles, and have disposable income sufficient to support a hobby like this. Reading the instructions on these packets requires (for me at least) a magnifying glass and a light source that can be adjusted for brightness and angle because the packaging is so poorly designed from a user point of view. The product itself, once you memorize the directions (or print them out from some digital source), solves a number of problems. The Breville tea maker is very clever -- the carafe itself is apparently high quality German glass. There is a stainless steel pillar inside the carafe containing the tea basket dunking mechanism, and a high quality stainless steel basket with an unaccountably plastic cover and seal. There is also a secondary screen in the carafe cover (also stainless steel), to keep fine tea particles from finding their way into the brewed tea in the drinking cup. All of these parts can become scaled and stained, and if you brew multiple flavors and qualities of tea in the tea maker, the residues potentially adulterate the tea flavor. Breville does not say this cleaner is effective against scale - but it does a ecellent job of removing the residue from tea brewing. This cleaning product is represented as non-toxic, non-harmful to the tea maker parts, fast and effective. As far as I can tell, these are true - it cleans most of the parts (some of them hard to reach and potentially fragile (e.g., the temperature sensor in the floor of the carafe), and this product cleans them better than I could do you could with any other method I am familiar with. It leaves no soapy residue or foreign flavors or smells on the tea making surfaces.

Actually works!
You know those products that look too good to be true? I assumed that from this product. I’ve been using the tea maker for about a year now without being able to get any stains out. I saw all the amazing reviews and thought “there’s nothing too loose” and gave it a go. It is amazing!!! 20/10! Actually works!

Extending the life of your tea maker is easy with this cleaner. I love the maker, and the cleaner!
How exciting can I make a tea cleaner? How about: makes your tea taste twice as good! How about: after using this tea cleaner your odds of winning the lottery increase ten-fold! OK, a bit silly, but this isn't exactly an exciting subject. Or is it? I absolutely love my Breville Tea Maker, and have bought one for family and friends intent on sharing this wonderful device with everyone who loves tea. But, the very nature of tea...black tea especially...is that it leaches out of the leaves and into the water and on to anything else it contacts. Just a tiny bit each time, but over time there's a layer of tannins, lime (from the water), and other stuff slowly appears on the tea maker's glass carafe and tea basket. It's also incredibly hard to get rid of. I've tried quite a few things ranging from a mild caustic to CLR, and that stuff is like gum on your shoe: it won't all leave. Unless you use this Revive Organic Tea Cleaner. Personally, whether the tea cleaner is organic or not doesn't both me, as long as it does it's job. But, the fact it's organic is a bonus. What's in this packet is a mix of general detergents and an alkali (to neutralize and help the detergents dissolve the tannic acid) that work together. All that matter sis this stuff works: and it does. Run it through your tea maker, and you can easily see the difference. You don't need to do this too often, unless you have particularly bad water (in which case a simple water filter is a better investment), but I run cleaner through my Breville Tea Maker about every six months of almost daily use, and I notice a change in the clarity of the glass and basket. As long as you follow the instructions, you'll have sparking clean tea makers again. I recommend running a couple of full carafes through after cleaning, just to remove any residue, but this is a simple cleanup.
