Yes it is a tan color. I use it with orange juice and some of it sinks but some floats. it does not disolve.

Are these phospholipids hydrogenated or partially hydrogenated?

This is a very important question that has, for nearly a near, been ignored and swept under the carpet by LivOn. Because it does answer a ton of other questions, I can't imagine it's because of a careless oversight. The answer, apparently, is that LivOn does in fact use hydrogenated or partially hydrogenated lecithin and phospholipids, which cannot be good for the cardiovascular system, etc., but that it does not want to say that out loud. If I got that wrong, LivOn, please address the question with the affirmative clarity and forthrightness it deserves. Otherwise, we should note that it's already been asked and answered here.

does each pacakge have 226 mg or 2226 mg. the packets say 226 mg which is too low to create much value on a daily basis.

The actual amount in each packet is 226 mg. The key is the liposomal transmission which avoids digestion. I haven't researched ALA, but I have researched vitamin C in which 1000 mg. of liposomal VC has been found to equal 10,000 mg. in terms of absorption into cells. I use the two together with more VC than ALA on a 2:1 or 3:1 ratio.

Is this stabilized r ala?

Yes, but LivOn recommends storing it in the refrigerator. Compared to vitamin C, it has a shorter expiration date
