Pain in the rear (of my 360)
Ok, so i purchased these fans along with the clear case. I was most excited about the fans , and when they came i was thrilled. The wiring comes with an adapter so it just plugs into where your old fans plugged in. However, wiring is not the issue. The fans don't seem to fit into the slot where the old ones comfortably rested. The lights also seem to not be as bright as they were advertised. But that may just be me. When i installed the fans, only one fan was turning and lit up. But after moving the wires around, i ended up with both fans lit and turning. They say that these fans keep the system cooler, but when playing a game for more than an hour, the system heats up. It looks cool, but i question the functionality of the fans honestly. In order to keep my system cooler and continue to keep these fans in the console, i rewired the old 360 fans so that they run off USB power. So i propped the old fans on the bottom of the console (my Xbox lays flat) so it pushes air into the console directly onto the heatsinks. This way the console stays cool and does not heat up. I would purchase these fans and recommend them, but be cautious of overheating.

Works Exactly As Claimed
This fan is a great replacement for my old OEM Xbox fan (probably about 10 years old at the time of the replacement). Although it's possible that this difference may be in part due to the age and condition of my old fan, the Talismoon fan is noticeably quieter and more efficient, just as it claims to be. Don't try to convince yourself that this fan is silent or near silent - it isn't. However, if you have an old monster like I did, there's a good chance that this one will make a big improvement, and what noise the Talismoon fan does make is much smoother and subdued. On several occasions my Xbox would also shut down due to overheating, which I imagine was at least in part due to the struggling OEM fan. While I can't yet speak for exactly how reliable this Talismoon fan is at cooling the unit, it does move significantly more air, so I'm expecting better performance as well. Make sure to familiarize yourself with the Xbox disassembly process before you get started (you can find plenty of comprehensive guides with a simple Google search), so you don't run into any unexpected obstacles along the way. After getting into the metal case, I found it helpful to disconnect the cables from the optical drive and get it out of the way entirely, then carefully disconnect the old fan's cables before removing it from the housing. The blue LEDs in the fan are quite pleasant. I really didn't want obnoxiously bright lights, but these are subtle enough to be a neat aesthetic feature, but still bright enough to be noticed. The attached video is of my Xbox running Modern Warfare 2 splitscreen, both before and after replacement of the fan. The primary difference is between the sound in front of the TV. The back view picked up a lot of the sound from the pushed air physically hitting the microphone, which makes the sound of the Talismoon fan appear to be louder, even though it's merely due to the increased airflow, and is actually quieter and not as harsh.

Ok replacement but it has it's problems
I bought this along with a RROD bolt kit to fix my son's three year old Xbox elite. (Missed the Microsoft warranty by two months) I figured if I could reduce the temps a bit more it couldn't hurt and the price wasn't bad. I followed the directions to removed the X mounts and used the 12 minute cook with the fan over the CPU heat sink only. Cooled everything down and gave the bolts a final twist, everything works 48 hrs so far. As for the fan I was clearly not as heavy duty as the stock one but I figure the casing isn't very important anyway so long as the motors hold up. My first problem was that the fan comes with a unnecessary extension and four pin connector which is very hard to line up and force together. I expect the extension is so that you can plug the wires in and have easy access once the fan is in to connect the two. Problem is that the connector is cheap and poorly manufactured. I put it in the first time and everything was working well. I took it out to adjust the fan cover and then only one fan would work. For anyone that has this problem a couple cents worth of wire connectors would fix it but I was able to use a very small screw driver to push the male ends back into place. After that everything worked fine, I can't say that it is totally OEM or would lock into place but I don't think it will fall out either. The box claims that the fan put's out 57% more air an is 7% less noise. I really can't tell the difference but so far so good. The LED blue light is kinda cool but useless unless you have a clear box too. Pro: Cool replacement for custom clear box or one with more air vents cut in. Ok replacement if the stock fan goes out Simple and easy to repair if needed Con: long unnecessary power extension cheap wire connectors which tend to fall out of the plastic junction LED light really barely visible unless... Not significantly quieter (to my ears) I would recommend a "buy" if your fan is out or you want to make a custom box. Otherwise clean out the stock fan and re-use.

Huge improvement
I recently replaced the factory-issued fan in my Xbox 360 Elite with this one, after having a lot of over-heating problems. Ever since I switched, my Xbox has been working like a dream. Super easy to install. This fan's a little louder than the old one, but not loud enough to bother me, and I can feel it moving a LOT more air, so I know it's doing its job. Definitely a good investment.

P.O.S.
This is the FIRST negative review I've written in my several years as an amazon customer. This fan came quick and looked nice, cool. That's great. I put my 360 back together after installing it. Guess what? Only ONE fan would work no matter how many times I readjusted and repositioned it. They both work INITIALLY, but EVERY SINGLE TIME I put the case back on, only the one will work. So what happens? RROD happens. Good news? The original fan still works so I'm back to it. It would be nice to have my money back for this dumb thing though. Do not...buy this. Unless your 360 is so hot it's already effed, in which case...call Microsoft or replace it yourself. But don't get this. Now I'm going to finally play Bioshock Infinite and thank my lucky stars that POS fan didn't permanently damage my console. Suck it, Talismoon...false advertising is for the birds. So also that should apply to all you positive reviewers that caused me to buy this in the end: thanks...I'll remember that.

It would have been cool, if it didn't burn out.
After thinking about it for a long time, I finally decided to buy the Talismoon Whisper fans. I Wanted to get this for my midified Xbox 360 elite, because the OEM fans are really loud whenever I want to play a game, or even in the dashboard. After opening my 360, and changing out the OEM fans for the Talismoon Whisper fans, I was really excited to power on the xbox 360. What happened next when I turned on the Xbox 360, the left fan over span, sparked, and let out a little smoke. Then I got a Hardware error on my 360. I reseated the fan plugs with the adapter and such, thinking it would fix the problem, and then I turned on the xbox 360 once more. To my amazement, the LED's worked, as well as the right fan. I think it was just one defective product. I am going to buy another one once my refund goes through. So far, I think the fans are crap, but I will give then ONE more chance. (The one fan that was spinning blew out a pretty good amount of air, and wasn't that loud) Oh yeah, Ever since I plugged in the broken Talismoon fans, the Xbox 360 elite has been running the original fans extremely loud. I don't know why though.

Good but not GREAT!
My 360 is completely custom! I have mesh grating on top so it is see through and it also allows air to freely rise out! this purchase was more about looks than cooling my system better...that being said, the 2 LED's farthest from the connector pin are only half as bright as the the ones closest. I have other blue LED's inside so its not to bad but I am pretty anal and it does bother me. My friend has one as well and his is the same but it seems that the whole right side is dimmer. only other complaint I have is it is not an exact fit and does not pop/clip into place, it holds just fine but it made me nervous at first. Also I don't care what the product states...it is LOUDER than the stock fan but not much. Overall I still like it and will keep it in. PROS: Looks cool! Works great (as it should) CONS: Not an exact fit Power distribution to LED's is a 50/50 shot Slightly louder If you want the full benefit of looks from this then you need to have both a clear/see through top and a clear/see through wind tunnel (amazon: $11.99 or close to it)

Nice and quiet
This isn't the kit with the nitro switch, however still a nice quiet fan and I have noticed an approx 5-10% increase in airflow (cooler xbox :)), a straight forward install which was quite simple and quick and the blue led's look cool....received what I ordered

Brilliant fan! Disassembly requires some basic tools but is straightforward.
Still got my old Xbox 360 Elite to occasionally play the GoW series, Condemned 2 and Red Dead Redemption. Unfortunately the fans got irritatingly loud over the years, forcing me to use headphones or crank up the volume. The only moving parts in an Xbox 360 are the case fans (you can see these at the back) and the optical drive itself. There are no fans attached to the motherboard, so if your console is noisy then this is the part that needs replacing. Prying the Xbox open didn't take me very long and turned out to be a fairly easy thing to do. You'll need something thin like tweezers or a small hex key, a flat head screwdriver and a common T8 star screwdriver (most cheap tool sets should have at least this size). There are no instructions in the package, however there are some really good videos on youtube showing you all the steps. Once you've removed the side plates, it's only a case of pushing the optical drive to the side while unplugging the old fans. This whisper fan is 4-pin, but comes with a 3-pin adapter that's required for the Xbox 360 Elite. Reassembling is a breeze. It was a relief to hear a low humming sound these new fans make, instead of the sickly whirring of the old fans. Though this is a somewhat pricey investment for an Xbox 360 in the year of 2016/2017, I've no regrets and would definitely make the purchase again.
