Spyderco Tenacious, 3.3 in 8Cr13MoV Steel, C122GBBKP

I'm a knife guy. There. I said it. I have always carried a pocketknife, for as long as I can remember from childhood forward. About 20 years ago I first heard about Spyderco knives. I started looking into them and couldn't understand why their knives were selling at what I considered to be premium prices. So I ordered one. Once I had it in my hands - I understood completely. The durability, intelligent design, ergonomics, attention to detail in fit and finish, the premium steels, the warranty, the light weight, the speed of deployment - all of these factors added up to a completely different knife experience than I had previously known. I carried Spyderco knives every day for years. In recent years the prices on their primary lines has gone up, as prices tend to do. Some years ago they designed and crafted the Byrd line of knives - great designs, good steel, but in no way the same fit and finish. I own several Byrd knives, and while they're good knives, they're not Spydercos. Now we have an additional option of Spyderco knives crafted in China (rather than Japan or Golden CO). These knives are every bit Spyderco quality, just most often with more common (and far easier to machine) blade steels. This Tenacious is every bit the quality you would expect for a knife twice this price. The edge was razor-sharp out of the box, and I am in no way kidding. One of the running jokes about Spyderco knives for years has been that certain models seem almost bloodthirsty - you tend to get cut on them surprisingly easily. This one qualifies - I didn't have thing 12 hours and managed to lay open the side of my finger in a momentary lapse of attention. Barring losing one of these, they really are the last knife you'll ever have to buy. I would give this knife ten stars if the system would permit it.

I have many knives (500 or more), and some are very pricey, but the thing is I always keep coming back to my Spyderco Tenacious. What does that say about my collection, knives in general, and more importantly, the Spyderco Tenacious? We could philosophize about it, debate its relevance in the trendy knife world or on childish poser sites spending all their time talking about the safe queens like on Blade For..., but the thing that sticks out in my mind is the comfort level and reliability of this knife. This knife has incredible ergonomics, comes razor sharp, and is just a joy to use. In my opinion, both the handle and the blade are harmonious with one another and perfectly balanced. It's not too light, not too small, not too big, and not too heavy, and it's just downright perfect for getting things done. The versatility of this knife and durability is second to none. I used to think why is the price going up on the cheap line of Spydercos made in China, but with inflation and everything, you're still getting a lot of knife with your purchase here. Gone are the days when you could bag this bad boy for $37.00, but it's still worth it and more at the current price. Frankly, I couldn't care less where this knife was made, because they hit the ball out of the ballpark with this one. This is a timeless classic and a very underappreciated EDC knife that can meet the grade for just about any task you could fathom with a folding knife. I always a hard time saying this about my Spyderco Tenacious for one reason or another, but after all these years as my faithful and loyal companion, I can say it now: I love you man!

First of all, it is very sharp!! The locking mechanism is liner lock, is very easy to close and open, it feels small on my hand compared with my ontario knife that I have before but it is very practical, it fits very easy on my work pants.

This is a good razor sharp knife straight out of the box. It’s a well designed knife and a great edc. A+++

The Spyderco Tenacious is an excellent folding pocket knife with a solid, dependable feel. The blade came sharp right out of the box, and the smooth opening makes it easy to use. The handle provides a comfortable and secure grip, while the overall construction feels sturdy without being overly bulky. I really like the combination of quality, functionality, and value. It’s a great knife for everyday carry and general utility tasks. Spyderco did a great job with the Tenacious, and I would definitely recommend it to anyone looking for a reliable folding knife. i gave it 4 stars because of the color... LOL

I ordered the knife and received it the next day. Shortly after I ordered it, a YouTube influencer made a video stating that Amazon is selling counterfeit Spyderco Knives. I initially attempted to return the item. Before I sent the knife back, I contacted the seller about the issue. I received a reply the next day with validation that the knife is authentic. They get their knives directly from Spyderco and keep tight control of their inventory until the item is shipped to the purchaser. I received my knife in an authentic Spyderco package. I also received all the warranty documentation in the box. As for the knife performance, it is an excellent knife made in China that has several of the high quality characteristic of the models made in the US. The blade has a nice black coating to protect the blade from corrosion. The knife molds and edge for a long time and I usually just strop the blade every couple of days. It cuts through cord, tie wraps, cardboard and tape with ease. I frequently receive shipments at work and have to cut through tape and boxes. The blade cuts all day. The blade can be opened and closed with one hand and is a great knife for those that like to fidget. The pocket clip is very durable and keeps the knife down low in the pocket. I haven’t even come close to having the knife fall out. This is a great everyday utility knife and it is a worker. This knife is made to be used and holds up to rigorous use. It is a great knife for those that are looking for a cheaper model than the ones made in the USA. The seller is great and will answer any questions on authenticity so rest assured you are getting an authentic Spyderco Knife.

What's to say about this??? An icon, legend of the budget knife world. The blade shape is amazing, they do a great job with their design and execution of all their knives. It's a good sized knife that has awesome ergonomics. It fills your hand so you can really get a good grip on it. Yeah you can get a better steel at the same or even lower price. But yen years ago when I started really getting into knives there were two options. This or the Ontario RAT 1. I didn't like the look of the hole so I went with the RAT 1. I really wish I would've given thos a shot. The hole is not only for ease of deployment, it also doesn't get in the way of material when your cutting or when you go to sharpen it. If you're on the fence about getting one, just to test the waters of Spydercos, you should give it a try. I own probably close to fifty Spydercos, some much more expensive, but I jad to get this just to see what I thought of it (principal basically.) Let me tell you, I really wish I would've just gotten one all those years ago, I'd probably have over a hundred Spyderco knives by now. Yes it's 8Cr13Mov. But Spyderco does some of, if not the best heat treatments in the knife community, besides custom knife makers. This is a legion of a knife and no Spyderco collection is complete without one. (Not that my collection will ever be complete lol)

Excelente producto, la cuestión estética se raya muy fácil, funcionalidad al 100% me parecen una marca muy costosa ya que hay de igual cálidad con menor precio, aún así la recomiendo amplíamente, lo he tenido por algunas semanas y es excelente. Una de mis favoritas. Agregando unos pocos meses después he decidido dar 5 estrellas, si se rayo algo al inicio pero solo eso, a continudo con el rendimiento y tengo que agregar que está navaja es original he visto muchas copias, y buscando a fondo, el producto que me ha llegado es original, aunque hecho en china, la pintura de la hoja está intacta, solo el clip está desgastada la pintura, sus logos siguen ahí, sin duda compraria una de éstas nuevamente, finalmente el precio me pareció alto al principio, pero viendo la bien, solo me arrepiento de no tener una de éstas antes.

Tolles Messer in top Qualität. Wie lange die schwarze Beschichtung (ist ja die Budget Linie von Spyderco ) hält wird sich zeigen. Evtl einziges Manko (im Gegensatz zu anderen Spyderco s) ist das die Klinge bis zum Heft scharf ist. Die Verletzungsgefahr beim einhändigen schließen ist relativ groß.

Es una muy bonita navaja anterior a esta e tenido un modelo con otro tipo de cachas, las cachas de este modelo lucen el logo de la marca muy bonito pero suelen llenarse fácilmente de polvo, su agarre es inmejorable. El tamaño de la hoja es muy cómodo y no debe provocar problemas con la policía en México por portarla. Quizá uno desea comprar modelos con acero vg-10 pero este moderno con acero 8cr13 Mov a demostrado ser de buen funcionamiento y retención de filo. Es muy cómodo la forma de apertura y cierre, incluso se puede realizar los movimientos con una sola mano. El clip se puede colocar en 4 posiciónes distintas, lo cual para mí es muy importante. La caja trae instructivos, plásticos y calcomanía. No cuentan con herramienta para cambiar el clip.
