Great for all things!
These shoes fit perfectly are comfy and the quality is great. Sometimes I wear them to work and they are perfect for all day wear. Not heavy.

Comfortable boot with nice detailing, but the jury is still out on quality..
Right out of the box these boots were extremely comfortable. I was quite pleased and am looking forward to hiking in them. Per comments in other reviews, I hope that they last and are durable. I did read through many of the reviews before purchasing these and was surprised that no one commented on the reflective strip in the back the sides and the top, which was one of the things that caught my attention first, but maybe that’s because I’m often out after dusk. I like how the back reflective ribbon strip can also be used as a hook to help you put on your boot. However, I can see why another reviewer thought that the tongue of the boot could be a little thicker and wider but I think I’m gonna have to log a few miles or several miles before I can adequately review that function. I did not need to put in my own arch support so far, though the insole that these boots come with are quite flimsy, so at some point that might be a good idea. I think it must be the design of the boot itself that is so comfortable and is unrelated to the “arch support” insert . But it is removable so it’s not a dealbreaker. Several people did mention the fabric part between the leather upper and the rubber bottom tore easily, and I could kind of see how that could happen, as well as comments about having issues with the adhesive between the boot upper and the bottom rubber traction part, coming unglued. Since I have not worn them outside yet, I don’t know how durable of a pair I received, but at the moment, because they are so comfortable for me, which is rare, I am going to try them out and keep them. After doing a thorough exam it appears, and I could be wrong, that rather than an issue of the quality of the workmanship involved with the shoes falling apart quickly, it could be more of an issue of the glue that they use and the type of adhesive. Bad batch? different manufacturer? You know, like vitamin companies... Quality of different manufacturers is quite discernible if you are sensitive to it.

I LOVE Keens!!!
I hike hundreds of miles a year and these boots have lasted beautifully. They were comfortable on day one, requiring no breaking in. I have owned several pairs of Keens and have never been disappointed with their quality, ruggedness, or longevity.

Love Keens
I love keens. My last pair lasted 15 years. They fit great, waterproof, great on any terrain including 4rth class climbing. I purchased a new pair 2 years ago and loved them, until they started falling apart at the seem between the sole and upper during the first year. So disappointing. Hoping it was just a bad batch. I have a husky so I am outside in them 3.5 to 5 hours a day. Take a few long hiking trips as well each year. I need good boots! I am going to buy a new pair soon. Even with the problem with my current pair, I highly recommend Keens. They are worth the price. Also you dont have to break them in, no hot spots in early use.

Finally found a good boot
I have never owned KEENs before. I do however have wide feet and toes that like to splay out. I love to hike especially in the mountains. If you’ve ever hiked inclines, you know how unfortunate it feels to have squished and bruised toes. I debated on a size 8 or 8w. I decided to go for the 8w. I will say they are very wide. For me, I love this. But I want to give the disclosure that I believe the regular size also runs a little wide as well. The insoles in these are a dream. Not memory foam soft, but comfortable right out of the box. They are sturdy enough to feel like you have enough support. I LOVE that these have a strap on the side. This allows you to tighten the boots around your ankle and keeps your feet from pushing to the front of the boot. For inclines, this is so so important. The arch support is phenomenal. These are very waterproof from what I have tested them in. Puddles and small streams mainly. KEEN as a brand have been pfas free since 2018 and keep the environment in mind when making products. Overall very happy with the purchase, price point, and company as a whole.

Comfortable and Waterproof
These boots kept my feet warm and dry on trip to Iceland. I have short wide feet and have difficulty buying shoes. Purchased 5W and they were fantastic. Minimal break in time and not overly heavy. Good quality and were on sale when I purchased so were also a great value.

Not as pictured
Been wearing Keens for many years. Mainly because I can find shoes with wider toe area shaped for suiting feet like mine, that’ve been walking for years and have spread out in that area. I’ve loved being able to find durable shoes eliminating painful weeks to months of natural stretching out to fit. Or else weeks of mechanical stretching. They fit right out of the box. This doesn’t mean people like me will accept shoes that are too big in this area, with sloppy fit (pair I tried and returned before these). If these were manufactured as the listing images indicate they’d be perfect. I’d buy two pairs. Maybe three. So I’d not have to deal with this again any time soon. But they are not shaped like the listing pics. Please see images Ive included. It’s a screen shot from the listing and the actual shoes received. These are much different from the listing. So much so that I question whether they’re factory seconds. It’s easy to see difference. I’d try stretching with shoe stretcher, but sometimes that’s not enough. I’m not going to alter and make them not returnable, only to still have to go through pain and hope eventually they’ll stretch to fit. Sometimes they don’t. And I’m not up for torturing my feet anymore. It does my entire body no good. Nor am willing to throw my money away on ill fitting shoes that wind up at the thrift store, largely unworn. Thus they’re getting returned.

Saved my life!
So this is the first time I purchased a pair of hiking boots. Did lots of research, used Amazon’s amazing “try before you buy” service and ordered 3 other brands, and all in 2 sizes each. Merrel Moab was it’s biggest competition in my eye, but this one won the battle, I’ll tell you why: I felt like these had more toe room. Merrel definitely felt like a sneaker though. Suuuuper comfy right away. But these, to me, gave my foot more structure, wiggle room for my toes, and the biggest thing: they were slightly higher on the ankles, which is what I needed. I have injured my ankle and could not afford to do it again, so I absolutely needed all the help I could get. These did not need a break-in period, in my opinion. I wore them once on a 1.5 mile easy walk back home before hiking for 5+ hours and they felt the exact same, which was comfort to begin with. Hopefully they do get a bit comfier with time but they are perfect as they are. These saved me multiple times in our visit to Acadia. I would have twisted my ankles a couple times over, if not for these. They also had great grip for all the terrain we encountered there, we walked through creeks and mud and these bad boys kept me dry. I was a little worried about the reviews showing these boots falling apart too soon, but ultimately I decided to just go with my gut and get them because they felt right to me. I think trying a few different brands on is vital to choosing a good pair of boots for you. I also considered the Columbia Newton Ridge but was scared of the “toe bend” that develops on the top of the boot, I was positive that I’d be a lucky one to have that happen, but they did feel SUPER comfortable as well, just like the Merrels, like a sneaker. So try them on if you can! Important to note: sock are a major component on your comfort so make sure you try out a couple of good pairs.
