I’ve been trying to learn cybersecurity for a few years now, doing numerous online courses and reading everything I could. It’s a minefield and so much information you need to know. ( I’m getting their slowly ) Bought this as packt books are pretty solid, learnt python using them. So it was logical choice to try this book. It’s rammed with info, but it’s hard to sit down and read, I can only manage a few pages at a time before it gives me a headache, and the book isn’t written in a way you can’t stop yourself from carrying on reading. Decent reference book and pretty good to get if your trying to find your way about how to change career. I will no doubt pick this up again from time to time and refer back to it. Really good info but it’s very dry especially for a beginner
Gave it four stars, couldn’t really decide if it merited five stars nor not. I’ve been trying to learn cybersecurity for a few years now, doing numerous online courses and reading everything I could. Easy read and informative
Book gives a overview of basics of cyber security and gives you a keen interest to delve in and learn more.

This a hoax
Do not buy this book!! It looks like or in fact, is a photocopy of the real book (if there is a real version of this book). The quality of the paper is like a regular A4 sheet. On top of that, all the pages on the left side were faded to the point they were not readable (it seemed like the photocopier was running out of ink). Total waste of time!! I do not understand how people can sell this crap and get away with it!

So far so good
If you’re new to cyber security then this book is for you. It explains what to expect and so on. I’m still reading as we speak. But so far so good.

This book was very helpful in providing strategies and opinions from high level people in the cybersec field and multiple views on the various roles. If anyone still has doubts as to which role you want to pursue, there are links to many resources to learn more. The book also gives a start to finish look at the path to go from zero to job and the best ways to achieve it. 100% recommend if you, even in the slightest, are a little overwhelmed from abundance of choice.
