Pro 8 Hole Guitar Pickguard for Standard Tele Modern 3Ply Black

I ordered this item knowing it was not made to fit the low-cost INDIO Retro Classic I have. I studied specs of guitar and pick guard, and made an educated guess that fitting it should be possible. Item arrived the next day, and was a very nice color contrast for the Blue Tele-style guitar I have. Removing the original guard and laying them on top of each other I could see minor, careful fitting would be required, and the redrilling 6 of the 8 screw holes also needed. Marking the two areas which would need sanding/filing to fit. Went to work on work bench and in about 30 minutes had a perfect fit. I mounted it to the guitar with the two holes which were correctly fitted. Then center punched the holes which were not aligned. Drilled carefully with a 1/8" bit, screwed in all screws, and WOW did it look very nice! Restrung guitar with De Addario NYXL 10-48's. Checked setup (all perfect), plugged into my tube amp, and was BLOWN AWAY! If you have not tried these strings yet, GET SOME, they are amazing! Overall, the pickguard looks beautiful on this $86.00 guitar, and with the guard and strings, I have a guitar I would play easily on stage, at a total cost of about $110.00!

Nice little upgrade for my Mexican tele. Seems well made and everything fit perfectly. My only wish was that it came with foil on the back to prevent buzz. Some companies like IKN come with foil backing. It’s a nice touch. I’ll have to buy some copper tape for this next time I change strings but for now, it looks great on my guitar PS I read a review that said installation required taking off the neck. No. Don’t do this. This person was probably not taking their strings off, which is just way more work than was needed. The guard should fit on the guitar without taking the neck off. Take off the strings to do this. The headache of taking off the neck is not worth a $6 pack of strings. The hardest part of installation is mounting the pickup but even that’s not hard to do. If you have a telecaster neck pickup that mounts underneath the guard, it’s even easier. You don’t even have to take the strings off for that. Just unscrew the guard and take it out and replace with the new one.

I have a Squire Bullet Telecaster in Lake Placid blue and really didn't like the minty white pickguard it came with, so I ordered the single-ply black guard to replace it. The quality of the new guard is on par with the original, the size and position off all the cutouts matched exactly, and all the holes lined up perfectly. My only gripe is that I wish it came with black screws instead of chrome. I just ordered those separately for a few bucks. It was well worth the cost and time/effort to install (all five minutes of it, lol). it completely transformed the look of the guitar.

Fit my Fender Squire Affinity perfectly! Got rid of a static discharge problem i had with the old pick guard. Looks good too.

The guitar I installed this on was a November 2020 Made in China Squier Affinity. Make sure to look up your serial number before buying. It did not fit straight out of the box and required some light cutting and filing where the neck slots in. If you look at the cutout for the neck you'll notice it's curved in the corners on the pickguard, I had to cut the curves out to square it off so it could slide forward to be able to clear the bridge. Then the control plate didn't line up exactly so I had to beat it until it snapped in place and screw it down. I didn't have to create anymore holes but some screws were slightly crooked. If you're buying this for a Squier Affinity made around the same time as mine please take all of this into account. Great looking pick guard otherwise.

Después de leer opiniones de diferentes productos parece que no todas las tapas son exactamente iguales, aunque sea por milímetros. En este caso la tapa de color negro de tres capas encaja perfecto en una Fender Telecaster del 2002 MIM o MN (Made in Mexico). Buen producto para el precio que tiene, a ver lo que dura.
