Effective for toning down red color in dark brown hair with minimal bleeding and staining.
I made a mess of my hair during the time hair salons were not allowed to operate in my state due to the pandemic. My hair is naturally dark brown with some pure white strands. I had bleached it blonde over a year ago and was slowly growing it out while having the roots dyed to match my natural color. Just before the shut down, I'd had a dark red Manic Panic professionally applied but wasn't in love with the color (too orange). So, I washed it out as much as I could and then used temporary color to try to achieve more of a magenta/fuschia color. I liked the magenta so I then used a permanent version of the color. The permanent color ended up lightening the portion of my hair near the roots that had not previously been colored dark brown and also faded rather quickly from the part of my hair that had been formerly bleached. So, at this point my hair had like 4 different bands of color. I consulted with my hair dresser and ended up having her try to get my hair to an overall, even, dark brown. She warned me that the red left in my hair from the Manic Panic would be extremely hard to color over and would likely show through the dye, which it did. So, I decided to try this product. I was pleased to note that the Espresso has a greenish base, since green cancels red. I've been using it for a month or so and while there is some red still visible, particularly in bright light/sun, this product has seemed to tone down the red. It's really easy to use, smells good, and leaves my hair feeling great. I was worried that the color would run when I sweat and/or transfer to clothing, bedding, towels, etc. While I can see a trace of the color when wiping off sweat or makeup, it doesn't leave weird looking streaks down my face and neck like the Manic Panic did and hasn't transferred to my clothing or my white sheets. It has stained my tub and shower chair a bit, but it cleans off easily. I'm glad I decided to try this out.

So happy!
So happy I found this! I have extremely delicate hair..every time I color with a box color I lose a ton of hair and have so much breakage. I haven't colored in 6 months due to this because I didn't want to lose more hair. I originally bought mocha and I really liked it. It did not 100% cover my grays..I didn't expect it to but it did cover alot of it and I was pleasantly surprised..the grays also got a little purple tint but you'd have to look real close to see it..I also didn't mind that. To fix it I used a root touch up. I used espresso the maybe 4th time and it wasn't as dark as I expected..maybe the more I use it the darker it'll get. I used it on dry hair and kept it on 20-30 minutes. I highly recommend this! So happy I found it and it doesn't ruin my hair. Oh..I also one times tried to mix it with a deep conditioner and it did not work for me at all..it actually took the color right out of what I previously did.

Good for gray coverage, didn’t change the rest of my hair
I’m 28, and you can see in the last photo how bad my grays were. I like the multidimensional tones in my hair so I really didn’t want to start dying it. My ends are lighter than my roots from sun exposure. I like that, you might not. The photos in the blue T-shirt with my hair straighter from the blow dryer are after, the photos in the gray sweatshirt with waves in my hair are before. It’s hard to tell in the awful LED lighting but there wasn’t drastic change to the overall color. Yes, some of my natural sun highlights are more chocolate but there’s still dimension so I’m satisfied. I don’t think I’d ever do my whole head again but it was a good experiment and I used about 75% of the bottle on my hair, but this is way cheaper than the hundreds a salon would charge. The big change for me and why I’m going to use this again was because of the gray coverage - which is all I wanted to change anyway. My grays are a night and day difference. Again, not full coverage but now they look like lighter brown pieces, rather than the white hairs I had before. This product also smells really good and my hair is softer after. It’s not a gloss, but comparatively it’s also not nearly as heavy so my hair blow dried quickly and still had a nice shine I’d typically get from a heavier product that takes longer to dry like ouai’s leave in gloss or olaplex’s hair mask (both of which are amazing and I swap using them bi weekly for shine and hair health).

Buyer Beware
This product will make your hair fall out terribly. I purchased this in both espresso and red. I used the espresso to maintain my dark vibrancy and red on occasion to balance the color I was going for. As far as color deposit, it worked great. It made my hair exactly how I wanted it. So, I used it for a long period of time and went through an entire bottle. However, around that same time frame using this, I had noticed my hair was falling out in clumps. At that time I thought maybe it was stress. My hair fell out so bad that it actually appeared like I was balding. My hair was thin and scraggly, always falling out in clumps, and my scalp was exposed to a point I could no longer even hide it with hairstyles. It got so bad I began using expensive hair loss treatments. For the treatments to be efficient, I had to stop using this product. Over the next 2 months, my hair was coming back full and beautiful. When I combed my hair, very little fell out. I could finally brush my hair without it covering the comb each time. Again, I thought my hair loss was stress related at that time. Since my hair was back to it’s original fullness, I decided to try using this product again so I reordered. After ONE use, I combed through my hair with my fingers and i was back to having clumps of hair falling out. That’s when I knew it wasn’t me, it was this product. I threw it away. Both the espresso and the red. I have not had issues since. Please pay close attention to your level of hair loss if you decide to use this. If you notice clumps coming out, don’t blow it off. It is the product that will cause your hair to fall out.

Burned my scalp
I loved this at first. It corrected my henna-toned hair to my more natural brown, and covered grays adequately until the next shampoo. BUT— I realize this was my mistake, so I want to warn other users. One time I left it on a long time, probably three hours or more, before rinsing it out late at night. The next day, my scalp burned badly, so I washed it out as soon as I could. Didn’t use it for awhile. Did a henna treatment, which made my hair too red again, so decided to cover it with this again. I made sure to only leave it on 20-30 minutes. Well, my scalp must have been damaged by the first mistake, because within about 12 hours, it was burning again. I rinsed it and rinsed it and rinsed it again. It still feels painful, but not as bad. Reading about how to cure this online, I found it could be very serious and could cause permanent damage. So be aware, and don’t do the stupid thing I did.

Honest review of things you should know!
Keracolor does what it says it’s going to do, however it is not as innocent as it seems. I had light brown hair with some blonde pieces that had brassy tones that I wanted to darken up so I went for the espresso (yes I know it is not recommended for light hair). I left the initial application on for about an hour and after rinsing I had green and blue tones in my hair from the blonde pieces. I repeated the process and the green and blue tones were gone and I had a nice dimensional dark brown. If you do not use this product on a regular basis those unwanted tones begin to come thru which was challenging for me when I wanted to let it fade out. I used clarifying shampoo, a clarifying mask, and dawn dish soap, I washed nearly 30 times (all in the same day) but the keracolor held strong! Keracolor does what it says it will do and it does it well and I’m sure it depends on the pallet you are starting with as to how well or how long it works. I will post a before during and after I attempted to remove it photos. I hope to give my hair a few weeks and then get some highlights as I am typically a platinum blonde but was looking for a change and went brown and wasn’t happy so I used the Keracolor to darken it up. I hope that the fade will remain as natural as possible.

Affordable and effortless hair color that leaves your hair feeling AMAZING!
Love This! My Go-To Hair Color Conditioner I absolutely love this color conditioner! It makes my hair feel amazing—super soft, smooth, and healthy every time I use it. One of the things I love most is how the color builds up gradually, so you can control how bold or subtle you want the shade to be. For the best results, I apply it to dry hair and leave it on for 30–45 minutes before hopping in the shower. The color payoff is great, and it doesn't stain my hands or my shower, which is a huge plus! It's also super affordable, especially considering how many uses I get from one bottle. I've tried several of the shades—everything from purple to brown—and I’m always happy with the results. Consistently impressed and definitely a repeat customer! Highly recommend if you're looking for an easy, low-commitment way to refresh or enhance your hair color while treating your hair right.

A god send for those allergic to hair dye.
OMG, how am I only finding out about this product now. As someone with dark brown/black hair who is allergic to hair dye and find the whole Henna/indigo process too long and tedious, this has been an absolute godsend. I’m not trying to cover my greys totally. I’m just trying to dull down the bright silver of it. This product does exactly that. No allergies (touch wood), no faffing around, just pop in on to dry (or wet) hair, wait 15-30 mins and rinse it out. That’s it. I absolutely love this product.

Not worth
There is no color at all, the color immediately goes away once I washed my hair, total waste of money
