Been metal detecting since the 70's so have been through many pinpointers over the years. I have owned one of these particular pinpointers before but sold with my last detector. I also have the Garrett Pro and Quest X Pointer at the moment so have something to compare with.For the price I would say this pointer is definitely a bargain. It works well, does what it is supposed to do and generally speaking I have no complaints.In terms of detection sensitivity I would say it is not quite as sensitive as the Garrett and Quest but there is very little in it.The Garrett is louder and has more settings...but you won't need them. The X Pointer is excellent as it uses pulse induction so is not fooled by hot rocks or salt water however I find it not loud enough on the beach with the wind and sound of the sea to mask things plus headphones on.I would definitely recommend this pinpointer on price alone. The fact that it is almost up there with much more expensive pinpointers tells you a lot about the marketing machine and how we can all sometimes be blinded by a brand name. If you are short on cash or just don't want to spend a lot I think you could definitely get a lot of use out of this pinointer.

Finding metal objects which have been buried in the ground. Maybe for some time. Very accurate, passes time good workout walking, digging

I purchased this pinpointer while my Minelab Pinpointer was away being repaired. I have had cheaper pointers before but this particular one is very poor! switch on and start searching for the item in your dug hole and all of a sudden it starts bleeping at you and will not stop until you turn it off. you have absolutely no chance of finding what you are looking for with this pinpointer. you only have to touch it against the ground a thats it.... Beeeeeeeeeep! waste of time and money. spend out on a Minelab or Pulse dive. At least you can send them for repair if they go wrong unlike the cheap and nasty things you find on Amazon.

Works better than a Garrett or equally as... a well priced piece of equipment for value.. happy user.

Occasionally need to turn it on and off, but for the cost it's an excellent investment. Cuts down time spent in the hole looking for the rubbish I dig up giving me time to find even more rubbish!
