I’ve tried to use cheaper carry carabiners and have never been as happy with the quality, finish, and feel of Nite Ize. The lock is easy to operate with one hand and provides confidence against randomly opening the gate. I haven’t lost my keys yet, and I expect my belt loop to tear out before these fail.

Love these multi sized binders. Lock is a little different than I am used to but works great!

Had a similar style key clip and lost my keys but luckily I found them. With the built in little clip retainer, hopefully no more lost keys. Easy to clip and lock in place

These are terrific little gadgets. I use the largest one on my keys and the smaller ones to keep lighter stuff securely fastened to my backpack. Ingenious design!

I have the other Nite Ize locking hooks, and those are even harder to turn to lock. This one is a little bit easier, but I have to be careful that I don't tear my nails at the tip when I lock these. The large one is a bit too big, the other two were better sizes. I wish they sold this in just the smaller two sizes in a pack. So far I have not lost anything I have locked with these, nor the other Nite Ize locking hooks. I have made the mistake of leaving one of the other Nite Ize on my car key when I went to a dealer for service and it was stolen! Never doing that again and a word of warning. Don't expect to get this or the other Nite Ize locking hooks back if you do turn a key over to a service or repair shop. Remove them before you turn them over. I am already ready to buy this again, for my kid. I don't trust the clip on their lanyard.

Update 12/20/22: If you don't slide the plastic lock into the lock position, then your keyring will find it's way into the tiny section near the bottom. When this happens, it prevents you from pushing the level and removing from your belt loop. You have to really pull and yank the keyring out if it gets stuck. I love the size, quality, and weight, but if you use it for putting your keys on your belt loop, then I'd look elsewhere. The only way it would work is if you are constantly locking the plastic piece in place. Original review: Pros: Lightweight, strong, quality machining Cons: Lock slider I use this carabiner for my keys on my pant loops. I used to wear a large rock climbing, bulky, thread locking carabiner that worked really well, but I didn't like how large and heavy it was. I'm not rock climbing. So I found these and they overall are good, but not ideal. The little plastic piece that slides up and down the latch sometimes gets stuck at the bottom which prevents the latch from opening. I think this is by design, but if you are constantly taking keys off and on like me, then it doesn't make a lot of sense. So you can lock the latch either by jamming it at the bottom or at the top. As much as I like the locking idea, I don't think it's totally necessary in practice. The latch is spring loaded and has pretty good force behind it, so maybe the locking part is not needed? Also this is not meant for rock climbing so maybe a strong spring loaded latch is enough? I like the quality, size, and design but personally I'm not liking the plastic sliding lock mechanism. I suppose I could dremel it off if I wanted.
