Nice Guitar, But Could Be Better
I picked up one in white with black binding, more like black painted stripe. First off the function of the guitar. The tuners are a 15.1 and are very touchy. If you turn a little, they respond fast. The neck feels like an Ibanez GRG250DX neck. It's like the U shape low profile neck and makes it comfortable to play. On mine when playing, I have to watch myself because the volume and pickup switch are in the way a little and very easy to change the settings when playing. The pickups are just OK. They don't have a full sound and may sound good for playing some classic rock adding some over drive to the tone, but not a metal hard over drive tone. I changed the 9's to 10's and I'll be changing back to 9's. With 9's my action was at 1mm on the low E at the 12th fret. With 10's its now at 5/64 at the low E at the 12th fret with a neck relief of .012 and that's with some fret buzz, but not hearing it threw the amp. To me this guitar is the big brother of the Peavey Rockmaster. The Predator is a good all around guitar. Made very good. Tone could be better coming from the pickups. It plays and feels good. The binding on mine is black and its painted on, not plastic. They could have done a batter job with the paint because on mine the black binding bleeds on to the white a little. I would say this is a first time or beginner guitar.
