KETO / LOW CARB best friend - Eggs fast, easy clean, save $$$, no-brainer <3 Love this !!!
LONG review - includes how to clean off hard water spots that look like rust This is a KETO / LOW CARB best friend - Makes eggs made fast, so easy, no-brainer hard boiled eggs. How did I get by without this? I was buying (6) pre-shelled EGGLANDS BEST hard boiled eggs at $3.75 a pack, mostly because I had such a hard time making hard boiled eggs without them coming out MEH at best. I tried all the hacks, even Tim Ferris' youtube version, and they would never peel right, took a lot of time, just made me miserable... so I just paid for them. We started a KETOGENIC / LOW CARB diet lifestyle, and with (3) people (me / hubby / son), that means we go through A LOT of eggs each and every week. They kept begging me to make deviled eggs, but I just couldn't justify the pre-cooked hard boiled version at $3.75 a pop for SIX eggs from the store. So I started researching how to make easy eggs, and this rapid egg cooker kept coming up. There's a smaller version (cooks up to 8 eggs), but this is just a few dollars more, and has a SMALL footprint on the counter, stacks up for easy storage, so I'm glad I went bigger. It comes with a little water measuring cup, with a punch on the end to make a hole in the top of the eggs before you cook them. This really makes it easier to take the shell off in the end, so by all means, use it! I believe that the water, once steamed off, makes the device buzz to tell you that the eggs are ready. I haven't made soft boiled eggs yet, but have made medium and hard boiled, and now I have warm, yummy eggs every morning for breakfast - super cheap, super easy! Here's how I make hard boiled eggs with this cooker: -- Set up device, read instruction quick sheet, determine how much water I will need for a dozen hard boiled eggs -- Fill the measuring device with water, put in bottom of device, and then set up plastic egg holder/bottom level -- Punch holes in the FAT SIDE of 8 eggs, put in plastic egg holder/bottom level -- NOTE - Be sure to put the side with the hole UP, so the egg doesn't leak into the unit -- NOTE - Puncturing the FAT SIDE of the egg will make it MUCH EASIER to remove the shells later... trust me, this is a good idea -- Put outside plastic level one over eggs, and then set up plastic egg holder/top level -- Punch holed in top of 4 remaining eggs, put them in plastic egg holder/top level -- Put top on device, check to ensure it's together firmly, steam hole pointing AWAY from any potential burn hazards -- Turn on blue button, and then wait until it BUZZES to let me know it's done -- While waiting, I set up an ice bath for the eggs in sink. I use a BIG BLUE ice pack (for coolers) or two to make it easy, big bowl, water. -- When it BUZZES, I turn off the blue button, lift the lid carefully to avoid steam burn -- Quickly move eggs from device to water -- NOTE - sometimes, some egg will OOOZE out of the top of the egg hole I made. No worries, it's easy to take off, and it's cooked too -- After 10 minutes, I come back to the egg bath, and start to run cold water in the sink -- One by one, I will crack each egg near the top/the egg hole I made -- Under mild cold running water, I peel away the shell. Super fast and easy! -- NOTE - make sure you break the membrane of the egg when you take off the first piece of shell, this will make it very easy -- Put the shelled eggs on a plate with a paper towel, then transfer to fridge OR start making deviled eggs (yum!) Many people have noted that using this cooker, they will get discoloration (rust colored, or white, spots) on the hot plate portion. That is from hard water, and it is really easy to clean. Here's how I do it: -- Get a magic eraser (you could use a sponge, but I like these best) -- Use the measuring cup, and put 1 part white vinegar, 9 parts water, then put in cooker - DO NOT OVERFILL -- You could add a bit more vinegar, no more than 3 parts to 7 parts water -- Just bring it to a boil, without the plastic egg holder/bottom level or any of the other parts. You're just trying to get it to bubble. -- TURN OFF quickly, unplug device, and CAREFULLY dump out the water mixture -- You should notice that some of the spots have already come off the device - thanks, vinegar! -- Use a wet MAGIC ERASER, or sponge, to wipe down the hot plate. It's still warm, so be careful!!! -- Towel dry - poof! Silver, shiny, just like new! You will have to experiment with the egg cooker to find your sweet spot for soft boiled eggs, as other reviewers have noted, but I really enjoy the medium boiled eggs every morning for breakfast. See my photo to see a typical keto breakfast... just add coffee and heavy cream, and you're super satisfied for HOURS. The red sauce you see is Tabasco Chipotle Pepper Sauce, which I also use a lot... check it out. If you're going to make and store hard boiled eggs in the fridge, or transport them, please consider Snapware - Snap 'N Stack Food Egg 2 Layer case (look it up on Amazon). You get (2) of these for $20, and you can easily store hard boiled or deviled eggs in this thing with ease. Makes it so much easier to be the KETO Meow-ma, without being in the kitchen 24/7 for my hungry boys. The kitchen gadget I didnโt know I needed!
I honestly didnโt expect to love this egg cooker as much as I do, but itโs become one of my favorite kitchen appliances. Itโs incredibly easy to use and clean, and it makes perfect eggs every single time with almost no effort. Iโve used it for hard boiled, soft boiled, poached eggs, and everything comes out exactly as it should. As an added bonus, it also works great for steaming vegetables and dumplings, making it much more versatile than I expected. One of my favorite features is that I donโt have to stand over the stove or keep an eye on anything. Just add the water, start it, and walk away. When itโs finished, it plays an alert and automatically shuts off. Another pleasant surprise is how much easier the shells are to peel compared to stove-boiled eggs. After cooking, I transfer the eggs to an ice water bath, and the shells come off so much more cleanly. Itโs fast, reliable, and takes all the guesswork out of cooking eggs. If youโre on the fence, Iโd definitely recommend it. This is the kitchen gadget you didnโt know you were missing!

Good egg
This item is great and really does make perfect hard boiled eggs! You do have to poke the egg with the item that comes with it. I lost it and now use a bulletin board pin to prick the egg! It works! Overall I love this product and recommend it!

Awesome egg cooker!
I love, love, love this egg cooker!! My friend always brings perfectly peelable hard boiled eggs to the beach. It amazed me that the shells slipped right off every single time. When I asked her secret, she recommended this product. I can honestly say 99% of the eggs peel quickly and easily, with an occasional odd egg in the bunch where the shell sticks for some reason. I suppose the appearance of a peeled hard-boiled egg is not all that important when you are adding them to another dish, but our family enjoys deviled eggs, so not only is it nice for them to look good, but also structural integrity is important in order to hold the filling. I like this product so much that I have ordered two as gifts for friends and family, who love them also! They come in a variety of colors, and are quick and easy to use. The unit has a small footprint in the cupboard and is lightweight. One word of advice is to deglaze the stainless steel water reservoir with a splash of vinegar while the unit is still hot, which makes cleanup super easy, especially if one of the eggs leak, which rarely ever happens. Disclosure: Iโve not used the egg cooker for soft or medium eggs. I feel this egg cooker is a good value for the money, especially considering time is valuable, and I canโt tell you how much time Iโve wasted on un-peelable eggs! I highly recommend this product.

Game changer!
This is one of those gadgets you might look at and think, "Why in the world would anyone need this?" Well, let me tell you! I travel for work and often stay in hotel rooms that have no kitchen, but boiled eggs are a standby high protein food for me. Rather than spending way too much money on pre-cooked, packaged eggs, I wanted to be able to cook eggs without a stove, and without making a huge mess in a rented space. Enter the Dash Deluxe Egg Cooker. As others have mentioned, the instructions for the amount of water seem to be backwards. To hard boil, you want more water so the unit stays on longer. So I just use the largest amount of water indicated and it works just right. You have to be assertive using the egg piercer. If you hesitate or get too crazy you could crack the egg, but a quick, sure motion pierces them without problems. When the water is gone, the unit makes a pleasant chiming sound, but if you miss it, it won't repeat, so use a timer to make sure you don't forget your eggs. And speaking of eggs, they are PERFECTLY cooked. I really appreciate being able to prepare healthy foods on the road, and not spend a fortune on packaged alternatives. I even use this at home because it's so much more convenient and energy efficient than cooking eggs in a pot on the stove. Why did I wait so long to buy this?

Musical alarm tells you that your perfectly cooked, hard-boiled eggs are done.
I used to have a Henrietta Egg Cooker that chirped when the eggs were done cooking. Unfortunately, she finally wore out, and it was time for me to find another great one. The excellent reviews convinced me to buy a Dash Deluxe Egg Cooker, That Holds 12 Eggs, Black, and I wasnโt disappointed in its performance. I take plenty of photos when I review a product to show how I formed my honest opinion while using the item, but they don't always upload in sequential order. If you study the product page, this comes with many pieces to assemble and use. The Quick Start Guide and Instruction Manual with Recipe Guide are easy to read and follow with accompanying photos, charts, and diagrams. Having used Henrietta, I already knew that I needed to pierce the large bottom of each egg, but itโs not always that easy to pierce an eggshell. I did cause a few hairline cracks, as you can see in some photos, but I knew from experience that the cracks werenโt severe enough to interfere with cooking those eggs in the Dash. I made sure all of the pierced ends were pointing up. I filled the labeled measuring cup with water I then poured into the Dash hotplate to cook a dozen pierced eggs. According to the chart, it was to take 20 minutes. Out of curiosity, I set my own timer to see how long the Dash would take before sounding its loud musical alarm (video), and it actually took 18 minutes. I also took a photo at minute 8:45 just to show the heavy condensation in the Dash. At that time, I filled my bowl of ice water in the sink so that I could chill the eggs quickly when they were done cooking. Because the Dash was so hot, it was easy and safe to remove the lid by using the handle. Some of the hairline cracks were more apparent once the eggs were cooked. Then I used my silicone tongs to lift out each hot egg that I temporarily placed back into the egg carton. That way, I could take it to the sink and gently drop each egg into the bowl of ice water to cool. The hotplate looked pretty grungy, which was typical with my old egg cooker, which was difficult to get clean. Dash suggests you make a solution of water and vinegar. Instead, I sprayed some Lemi Shine and let it sit for about 5 minutes before I scrubbed with a non-scratch sponge. Most of the ice melted in the bowl, which was a signal they were cool enough to peel and cut one in half. My boyfriend did the honors. The egg cooked perfectly, and he enjoyed eating two of them for a snack. After washing and drying the Dash, I figured out I could store all of the pieces inside the unit, which was a very nice surprise. Iโm happy with the Dash Deluxe Egg Cooker in which I can cook any number of eggs; just follow the chartโs suggestion for how much water to pour into the hotplate. I highly recommend this product.

The perfect egg cooking unit. They thought of everything.
I am very very pleased with the DASH Deluxe Rapid Egg Cooker. It cooks your eggs to order with minimal effort needed. This may look like a simple egg cooker at first glance but it is not "just like the rest" and I base that off my personal experience with "other" egg cookers. One simple example, an auto-off switch, which this and other units include, however, this one has a pleasant melody, not a horrendous beep or barely audible alarm likes some of its competitors. Anyways, I am happy I found this model after a couple of duds. The DASH Deluxe may cost a bit more than some of its competitors but to me it was definitely worth it.

Fantastic Egg Cooker
Super pleased with the DASH Deluxe Rapid Egg Cooker. It's quite simple to operate, clear instructions and most of all produces a great egg when done. I will say that the melody tone instead of an annoying beep or buzz is a much welcomed change to egg cookers. Has good capacity of 12 eggs on two tiers, or 7 poached on two tiers and one omelet tray. Product as described, works great, would recommend and recommend the brand.
