Adds A LOT of heat, great for cold camping, durable and soft
I love, I repeat LOVE, this sleeping bag liner. We are restless from Covid and itching for a little adventure while still quarantining. Set up a tent in the backyard, but needed all kinds of supplies to ensure our comfort, including more bags, mattresses, and a liner for me as I run very cold and we intend to camp til the first snow, at least. But back to the liner. I’d bought this brand, and another cheaper, thinner liner. While the thinner liner did help my husband, it was noticeably thinner and cheaper in quality. But this liner really overheated me. This isn’t a bad thing (if only because I didn’t die) because I had a zero degree bag in 40 degree weather. Still, I was getting chilly feet and calves which convinced me it must be getting colder so I stood up, climbed feet first in the liner, then jumped in the air repeatedly as I pulled up the long liner til my feet hit bottom, making sure the hood was positioned in the back. The jumping must’ve looked ridiculous but it only took seconds so I recommend that rather than trying to slide yourself in while it’s in the bag. Anyway, now back to my night. It felt great, the density of the fleece. The outside of the material isn’t slippery but wasn’t much of a problem for turning over in my bag. Just take care to twist the bag where/ if needed after you’ve turned in your bag. I move very little in my bag though. To make a long story short, it provided a thick, comforting layer although I woke up early feeling like my legs and feet were about to ignite due to immense heat. It had gotten quite warm in the tent already by morning and I realized I hadn’t needed the liner for my cold self that night (although I overheated, I never woke up due to taking a med for insomnia that night). So, the next night I kept the liner folded underneath me in my bag. Even that got too warm. I’m telling you it has a real WARMING EFFECT as my body touched it, it seemed to warm up so much that it felt like an electric blanket at times. Night 3 was perfect without the liner. Live and learn, right? Bottom line: it adds substantial heat to your bag. I have no idea how many degrees, but I’d guess around 20? It is well made, soft, substantial, and the fact that it doesn’t have a zipper to leak heat is a plus for my purpose which is staying warm in colder temperatures. Although it was uncomfortable almost spontaneously combusting inside my warm bag, I feel confident in this bag to keep me substantially warmer when the time comes. I will report back if the liner falls short of my expectations. So far, it has exceeded them! And oh, I bought another as we are a family of campers. Likely I’ll be buying a couple more before spring!

Perfect Size for 6ft 1inch 200lb Male
Does what it says it does. I have this paired with my wool blanket and it keeps in heat very well and very cozy and comfortable to sleep in. Been sleeping in it the past couple nights instead of my bed comforter. It also breaths well. So you don't have unnecessary moisture. I would buy this again. Love the compression case I can clip to the outside of my Survival Pack. I got this instead of the sea to summit most expensive liner. Because it's cheaper and gets close enough to their temp rating. Updated Reveiw: Been camping with this liner the past 4 days and in 40-37 degree nights with high winds blowing cold air into my tent. mixed with my wool blanket and another fleece blanket I have been warm enough. I think this definitely adds warmth and keeps heat in longer. One thing is for sure I wouldn't want to be camping in these Temps without the fleece liner. Whether or not it adds the temperature of warmth to your sleep system is up for debate. I think in a lab test sure. Who knows in the wild. Who's conducting a scientific test while camping in rough conditions? Anyway. I enjoy the liner and it definitely helps. Would still recommend. For casual use or camping/hunting/survival/buyout bag. The compression bag works great and is small enough for me to attach to the outside of my survival pack that I take with me camping.

Impressed
I am 6'2" 190 pounds. I was looking for a liner that would easily fit me. The product description says that it is 85" long and it is correct. This liner fits me, goes over my head and can still tighten around my face well. The inside is very soft and the bag will tighten well. I have not used it yet but I can see how it will be very warm on cold nights and on hot summer nights how I could use it independently from a sleeping bag. I am very impressed with its size and quality. Because of its size and substance it is not as light as other liners. This will add weight on a long hike but to me it's worth it if you need warmth. I do recommend this product.

Very soft, light weight for backpacking
This is my first sleeping bag liner, which I got mainly to protect the inside of my bag from sweat and dirt, and comfort. My bag is zero degree, but knowledge that I could gain an extra 15 degress in comfort is comforting. The liner is a soft fleece, and bot the fabric and stitching are of good quality. The product was well packed, and I am glad I ordered the compression sack, but truly you don't really need to do so if you fold and roll it right. It is ight, but yet warm. I was surprised it did not have a zipper, and at first I thought I should return it and get one with a zipper (if they make them), but then thought about it, and realize that a zipper would just not be comfortable in a liner, would leak heat, and potentially rip the bag on the inside. So, I realized that if one needs this liner, it's cold out, and you don't need to worry about being a mummy. It has plenty of room and is not constricting while not so large as to defeat the purpose of retaining heat. The one thing I don't like, and only reason I would consider a different one is that the draw string is on just one side of the "hood", rather than two, and so does not fully close easily, and puts unnecessary stress on it. Reality is I don't plan on doing winter camping, so unlikely I'll need to close it, but I do wish that it had two, and could be easily closed.

Slept 30 days in this
I hunted the Idaho and Colorado mountains all of September and let me tell you this was a saving grace. Some nights got COLD. I was completely comfortable and warm with this. I was surprised I could move around so well in it. It functions just like it says and its size is on point. It’s light weight and the durability held up perfect! I put this through a lot for 30 days straight in all kinds of weather and it held up perfect. Highly highly suggest. It compresses well also!

Toasty! Adds at least 20 degrees warmth.
I thought I’d share for my fellow cold sleepers. I have a 15 degree down bag which gets me about 35 degree comfort. Our last section hike we had one night that with a low of 20 (12 degrees with wind chill). It made my current set up at least 10 degrees comfort. That night, most backpackers were bailing out, calling shuttles to pick them up. I stayed toasty! My shuttle actually text me and asked if I was good. When I told him “yes, stayed toasty” he was like that’s bada** lol. The downside, it does add a pound of weight but winter gear is going to be heavier and for me it was worth the weight. I got the one with no zipper. It was great but a little hard to get in and out but I’d still buy it regardless. Also, almost impossible to get back into the stuff sack it comes with which isn’t a problem for me as I put all my sleeping gear in a dry stuff sack to backpack. Highly recommend this.

Use it properly as instructed and it will add many degrees to your warmth and comfort.
This liner worked as described. I am using a winter sleeping bag from the 1990s. It's ability to trap to keep me warm on cold nights has diminished over time, but this liner helps me get through a 6 degree January night. The first night I started off warm and I did get cold throughout the night, but in the morning I realized had not secured the liner properly up around my head and I had slid off of my ground pad and partially out of my sleeping bag, exposing me to the cold ground. The second night I paid closer attention to the details of my sleeping arrangement making certain my setup was more stable and that I was using all products exactly as instructed. I was warm throughout the night. To be sure, I used the liner along with good sleeping clothes, good ground insulation, and an additional lightweight synthetic camping blanket, but the positive difference with the liner over prior campouts in the past year was obvious. And it took up minimal extra space and weight in my pack.

Warm
It is a bit bulky but it saved me in Snowdonia. It went below 0 degrees C and my 3 season bag was just not enough but the liner really helped a lot.

Schlafsack Inlett
