you'll need to clean off some grease
Product is very well made and will probably last my lifetime.Just be aware that you're going to have to de-grease it before using it.Minor, but annoying enough to mention it.

I don’t know why I purchased this (it was on a good sale) but I did and it’s come in handy for a few random home projects. Works well with smooth adjustments

Great calipers for the money
These are nice calipers for around the house handyman use at a good price. The screw setting stays in place and the pointed ends provide a nice spot to measure from. Unless you are a machinist needing extremely accurate measurements, these should serve you well.

perfectly adequate
Not a bad analog caliper for the price. I needed one, it got the job done and didn't have to haunt flea markets and eBay for a Starrett. Made in India.

Good compass. Well made and easy to adjust. I use it for woodturning and it does a fine job. Would choose again.

Dollar store quality, do not recommend
After reading the other reviews I feel hoodwinked. The threads on this thing are terrible, the thumbwheel twists easily for a few millimeters then very stiff, then easy again (I'm sure you've experienced poor screw threads before). Depending on where the thumbwheel is, the calipers don't even open up as you adjust, you have to manually pull them open.They are slathered in grease so expect to get that all over your fingers as well... Had I known they were this bad I certainly wouldn't have bought them.
