Exceeding Expectations: A Mechanical Keyboard That Delivers on Every Level
The packaging for this mechanical keyboard exceeded all my expectations—it was well-designed and gave a premium feel right out of the box. As someone who has used several keyboards before, this one truly stands out. The keys have a satisfying tactile response and sound that makes typing an absolute pleasure. I was initially unsure about the backlighting, thinking it might be unnecessary, but it has quickly become a feature I genuinely enjoy. It not only adds a sleek look but also enhances the overall experience, especially in low-light settings. The keyboard has a solid, well-balanced weight that feels sturdy without being overly heavy. While it’s not something I plan to travel with, it’s perfect for a dedicated workspace. Overall, this keyboard has set a new standard for me, and I couldn’t be happier with it!

Comfortable and Efficient – I Love It!
I’m actually writing this review with the Keychron K8, and I absolutely love it! The haptic feedback is super comfy and provides just the right amount of "juice" on my fingers when typing. After using it for a while, I’ve noticed it really lessens the strain on my fingers thanks to the kinetic give with each keystroke. The white backlight is sleek, and switching between Bluetooth and wired modes is seamless. Whether I’m multitasking or gaming, it delivers smooth and responsive performance. This keyboard is a total game changer for anyone who types a lot and needs a comfortable, high-quality option.

Great keyboard for the price with a few downsides
Overall, I'm really happy with this keyboard. It looks nice, has a small footprint on the desktop, the bluetooth functions really well and is easy to work with, and the lack of software is both a pro and a con since it makes the settings more simplistic and reduces memory drag on my laptop. I switched to the K8 from a Razer BlackWidow TKL, which ran software to control the lighting and was a noticeable burden on performance sometimes (and occasionally required resetting the connection to use my custom chroma). Pros: - Bluetooth connectivity is really nice, easy to set up, and easy to switch between three devices. I also like that there is a hard "Off" setting for travel, and you use a manual switch to control OS configuration. - Lack of software was, for me, a pro. The Razer software was slow to load on startup; the keyboard didn't always work until the software had loaded; and sometimes it seemed to forget my settings entirely, or not push them to the keyboard, so the keyboard would randomly reset to default chroma. The K8 doesn't have software, just pre-set color arrangements, so you can't customize them yourself, but you also don't get any associated bugs. - I like the look of the keyboard and the default keycaps, and it's really classy to include both sets of OS-specific keys and a couple of splash color keycaps as part of the package. I wish Keychron offered orange versions of all their keys, because I like the icon and font style, but I want options beyond ESC and the light key being orange. (See Con for my complaint about the default caps.) - I love the price point for this. I just want a wireless, nice mechanical keyboard for normal typing, and it was so nice to save $30 because I don't care about fancy RGB or microseconds of lag time. Cons - Some of the keys seem quieter than others, like they come preset with o-rings. I notice this on the enter, shift, and backspace keys. I don't really mind it, but it'd be nice if all the keys were consistent. - If you type on it a bit and then look closely at the keys, you'll see the light-color keys get slightly discolored by the oils on your fingertips. I can see a slight rim at the top of the key compared to the side, which hasn't been touched and looks slightly lighter. For a keyboard, where you are absolutely intended to touch your fingers to the keys, this seems like a notable downside. Sure, you can get new keycaps and replace them, but that defeats the economical factor of this board in my opinion. - EDIT: There is actually a shorcut for this (Fn + Lights button); it just isn't in the user guide. ORIGINAL: I wish there was a shortcut to turn the lights off. If you bump the lights key by accident, you have to cycle through everything to get back to "off", and during daylight it's almost impossible to even see the white lights. (Can't speak to RGB lights.) - This keyboard needs a wrist rest. The keyboard is high enough that I don't think it's optional. It would be friendly to at least offer to bundle it with the wrist guard, since you're going to end up needing one. - The keys aren't recessed into the board at all, which collects more dirt and requires more frequent cleaning. I don't hate the look of it, but it is a factor. Don't let the cons fool you. I'm getting rid of my old Razer and keeping this as its replacement. Overall very pleased with this keyboard.

Best keyboard I ever used
Before buying this I was skeptical about mechanical keyboard mostly because of the noise, but this keyboard does not make much sound and keystrokes are very smooth and gives premium feel. The backlight is programmable and can be turned off. Loved it

If your fingers and hands hurt from typing, this Keychron with red switches is the keyboard for you
Pros With the Gateron G Pro Red switches it's the lightest action of any of the many keyboards I tried. It's the difference between injuring my hands and not injuring them. Quiet after adding two o-rings to every key An 80% keyboard at 14 x 5 in, this is a very small keyboard which is great for my small hands which measure 3 x 6.5" without the thumb. NO more overstretching for me. Backlit with multiple patterns (no colors). From the simple "on" position, tap it 16x to turn it off. Cons Bluetooth activates on the second keystroke like so: "econd." So you have to plug it in. Must use with a wrist rest as the keyboard is high, sitting 36mm from the surface it stands on to the top edge of the key (this includes the height of the rubber feet). The lower profile one isn't the same light action. I fixed this by making my own sleeve and stuffing it with the kind of plastic stuffing bead you use in "beanbag" stuffed animals. You can get that here on Amazon. Because the keyboard is so high, the desk may need to be lower. I fixed this by getting an adjustable drawer. As you can see the cons are serious. BUT! As I said at the beginning, it saves my hands. As a writer, I will go to any lengths to be able to keep typing. And that's where the keyboard shines. Because the keyboard is so small, my harms have to come too close together, so it's a trade-off (RE the overstretching). IMPORTANT: You can get this keyboard with different kinds of switches. On this model, they are not hot swappable. I thought they were and was going to try the ultimate in light action--the yellow ones. Well, I returned those because you can't swap them. And I found the red ones are good enough. Major con of Keychron: It's incredible complicated to sort out what you're buying, if it's hot-swappable and with what kinds of switches. It took a good month to become an expert. And I was still fooled with this keyboard not being hotswappable. But thankfully, it worked out and I got what I needed. So, thank you, Keychron. I hope with all this info and that from other reviewers, you'll get your happy ending, too. All the best.

scratchy sound, plasticy and poor built (DO NOT BUY THIS KEYBOARD)
This keyboard keys when hit have a scratchy sound. The body is really feel like cheap plastic yes I know suppose to be plastic. There are better keyboards out there for the price. The backspace key makes the worse sound making a clanky loud sound when hit, the rest of the keys are scratchy and Hollow sounding, the spacebar when hit sounds loud and bad. Unbelievable. There isn't enough dampening that explain why it sounds bad, the keycaps made of relatively poor quality that contributes to the overall lousy scratchy sound it produce. Should have read the critical reviews before buying this crap. I just found out on 11th May that 2025 that this horrible keyboard is not hot swap-able and I have destroyed the switch as I tried pulling it out. On the keychron website it say there it is hot-swapable on. This version I have it is not. Stupid lousy keyboard I feel cheated and it is confused people with so many version that how they CUT COST!! DO NOT BUY THIS KEYBOARD. Keychron really scam people with all sort of different version. No wonder my switch puller cannot pull out the switch. At the age and time who the heck still use soldered switches to pcb!!! Please DO NOT buy this keyboard save you the pain besides that it sounded HORRIBLE.

Great keyboard, bad connection
Amazing keyboard, but to get it to actually connect wireless, it wouldn’t do it normally and I had to get a dongle for my computer even though it has Bluetooth.
