OSTBA Food Dehydrator, 5 Trays, 240W Dryer for Jerky, Fruit & Veggies

I've had this dehydrator for about a year now and I just love it! I keep finding new ways it makes life easier . Right now I'm drying old sourdough bread heels so that I can use my Vitamix to turn them into bread crumbs. When the bread is totally dry it makes clean up in the Vitamix so easy. This thing is FABULOUS for drying parsley and thyme. For years I've hung up my garden herbs around the kitchen to dry. But they are coming out so much more flavorful and richer in color out of the dehydrator. This little unit is small enough to keep out in the pantry and use for tiny amounts I don't want to throw out. The big dehydrators are wonderful for large drying projects but this little thing is PERFECT for a beginner. If I really get into large-scale produce drying then I'd need a larger unit, of course, but I'll never be without this petite one now that I've used it for a year. It's just not intimidating like those big expensive machines. There's no commitment and no guilt if I don't use this inexpensive dehydrator for a month or two bc I paid so little for it. One tip : I cut up parchment paper in the shape of the trays for easier cleanup. For messier tasks I cut up some old silicone baking sheets .

It’s quiet, and compact. I have made cheez-its , gummies, dried herbs. It’s fantastic for the price!!

I guessed which dehydrator to buy and I picked a good one. It works easily and dried well. I am very pleased EXCEPT...can't dehydrate chives, that is freeze dried! you can make jerky and tons of things...i'm going to perfect dog treats, they would mold despite me thinking they were dried enough ...now this really dries. so fun to see what u can' do. great for mushrooms and then pulverize shrooms and make your own mushroom capsules ..which the caps are available here on Amazon.

Very nice dehydrator

Works great, its small but ive done some banana and others so far

First of all, this is a fairly small dehydrator. But, it'll do. I need it primarily to dry herbs and veggies out of the garden. Tested it on a batch of fresh cilantro, only filled three of the five trays. I put one of the empty trays on top and one on the bottom for maximum air flow. Set the temperature at 95 as per their recommendation in the recipe guide. However, after 12 hours, my cilantro was only wilted, not even dry at all. Raised the temp a notch, two hours later...it was half dried. Upped it another temp notch and 6 hours later, my cilantro was FINALLY dried. It should not have taken that long. Next time I will turn it to the highest temp setting and just make a note of hour long it takes for each thing. I miss my old dehydrator...that thing lasted 12 years and worked like a beast nonstop before it finally died....they just don't make things like they used to.

Does not take up to much room on the counter

Yo lo estoy usando para secar el glaseado de galletas, poco a poco estoy aprendiendo a usarlo y quede encantada, me ha ayudado muchísimo a mejorar la calidad de mi trabajo, es super sencillo y facil de usar, solo el detalle de que en la imagen que se muestra no se de que ángulo la habran tomado pues es mas pequeño de lo que se observa, sin embargo es una muy buena herramienta de trabajo

Es excelente en el secado y muy fácil de usar y sobre todo es mínimo el ruido que hace gracias a OSTBA por el libro de recetas que me regalaron e echo varias y todas son riquísimas

Me llegó el día prometido, todavía no lo uso pero el tamaño fué mucho mas pequeño que que imaginaba, sería muy bueno que pusieran en la imagen el tamaño comparado con otro artículo, un plato o cuchillo para darnos una idea más clara, no solo en la descripción.
