fantastic. solves a big problem. i have sports cars (older)...no dash flat surface or non-fabric surface on which to attach a suction cup. a cup holder type makes me look down and farther away from road to see it if needed. the unit i bought fits into the useless cd player receptacle. slides in and locks in fine (removable) and the adjustments are perfect. much more direct view of screen for maps and such. i consider it a safety feature and solves a problem i had with any other type of unit. the side slide buttons stick a little but not significant. wish they made the same thing for old school type cassette tape player slots.

Really great! Easy to open and close, stays put! Love it. Much better than the other I bought. And, since my old van has a cd player I'll never use this is perfect!

The Easy One Touch 5 CD Slot Mount - Universal Car Phone Holder from iOttie works very well. I had been using a CD Slot Mount magnetic holder from Koomus which I have been very pleased and satisfied with, but when I got a newer phone and case it turned out it was a little too heavy for the magnet to hold securely, so I went this way instead. I did not rate the Suction Power or Adhesion as neither of those characteristics apply to a CD slot mount holder. However, I was concerned about the fit of this one, and it does fit the CD slot in a 2009 Subaru Legacy very nicely and snugly without having to use the supplied extra "wedge" thing. It does hold the heavier phone very steadily and securely even with a thick case that has a built in kick-stand extending from the back. The side arms snap in as soon as the phone presses slightly against the trigger pad gripping the sides of the case well with no effort or thought by me. They also open to release the phone with a very light and natural touch on the release bars, no awkwardness at all. The only thing that prevented my awarding a 5 star rating is that the feet bars at the bottom are not adjustable and may obstruct access to some features on some phones (on mine the headphone jack is blocked, for instance). Also the side arms are not adjustable in the vertical distance from the feet, and could block access to buttons or switches on the phone (no problem on mine, but I was concerned about that since my phone's fingerprint reader is on the side - I had gone to a brick-and-mortar store to check the fit before ordering). Kudos to iOttie on their innovative packaging which allows you to thoroughly check out the item and even test fit your phone without removing the product from the package or damaging the package in any way. Also the small magnetic power charger cable managing tab is a nice touch to be included with the holder, and it works nicely.

I've bought these for all of our cars because it really is a great phone holder. But last year I purchased one for our Subaru, and it never really quite fit into the CD slot. It had a curved arm insert and wouldn't go far enough into the CD slot, so it bounced around a lot and eventually broke. I thought I'd give it a try again since they had a new Signature version, and this new version is so much better! The arm that inserts into the CD slot is shorter so it goes all the way in, and it has a lock to keep it in place (instead of the previous curve). It cost a few dollars more, but it's totally worth it!! Thanks for making this improvement.

My gf bought the adhesive dash mount version and loved it so she sent me the link- I saw that I could get a CD slot version and after reading reviews that seemed promising, I decided to give it a try. I was skeptical at first but since it's free returns I figured wth. I am so happy with it- you don't have to deal with cleaning, positioning, sticking, hating it, trying to unstick and restick. With this one you just insert into the CD slot and (very nicely, don't brute force it) push the bracket up to secure the plates inside the slot. I definitely recommend reading the directions, it's really only 3 steps but the way it secures isn't obvious. The part the phone sits in is easy to adjust, it holds the phone tight(I have an iphone SE 3rd gen) and is easy to release/secure. I prefer this over the traditional mounts because the location is just a quick right glance to see your phone(at least where my cd slot is) and my right hand only has to move an inch away from the wheel if I need to tap and I can easily have my left hand still on the wheel. I haven't had any issues with it loosening or with glare so far. I did notice that if you have a somewhat shaky car at certain speeds your phone will shake along with it, but for me this isn't an issue. If I'm using gps I won't be going that fast when looking for directions and it hasn't distorted the view so far. I have a popsocket detachable wallet on the back of my phone case that I do remove when placing it in the mount for a more secured hold. My phone does block the radio screen but I can still adjust the volume knob- for older folks who actually need to see the radio, this may be a con but for me, I've always used a bluetooth connection and use my phone for music, so it doesn't affect me. With free returns I'd definitely give this a try if you think adhesive mounts or cupholder mounts aren't working out for you. I'm really impressed with this.

Prior to buying this iOttie, I had a cheap vent phone holder that was so unimpressive that I ended up holding my phone most of the time. I knew this was dangerous, so I finally grabbed this well-reviewed CD slot mount holder, and wish I had done so sooner. It simply works - really well.- Stability: Once the unit is properly locked inside the CD slot, it's not coming out. The parts are high quality and sturdy. There is very little shake when the car is in motion, and I'm never concerned it'll fall out or even shift its angle. My husband has the suction version, but I like my CD mount better - it's more secure and convenient.- Grip: it's strong, hasn't fallen once, and can even accommodate my heavy phone with giant case plus finger strap - I was concerned when I upgraded. The mechanism to mount and dismount the phone itself is nifty and simple. One-handed operation to click into place.- Placement: In my car, the CD slot is fairly high on the center console, so it's well placed for maps. It sticks out a bit, so I can still see behind it for the clock or radio station. YMMV based on location of CD slot.- CD player: I can't play a CD while this is mounted, but I don't use CDs anymore anyways.The biggest downside is that new cars are not equipped with CD players, so this unit is not as future proof and transferable than a suction or vent mount. But for now, I'm happy. And much safer on the road.

Been looking for one of these since 2023 when my dog broke my boyfriends in a move. Just now was able to replace it. Works well and the hands free really does come in handy. Sturdiness is good it can hold my galaxy s25 ultra just fine and that phone is really heavy. Fits almost every phone size. Easy installation if you have a older car with a CD slot, good value on money. Magnet strength is good.

I bought this mount in July 2022, and it finally broke in July 2026, so I got about four years of use out of it. For the price, I think that's pretty reasonable.I really liked that it mounted in the CD slot since I didn't want anything stuck to my windshield or dashboard. It was also very adjustable. I could tilt it and angle it toward or away from me, which made it easy to get the viewing angle I wanted.The biggest downside is that it blocks part of my infotainment screen. That wasn't a deal breaker for me, but I did have to move it often because it covered my backup camera display. Occasionally it would become a little unstable or even fall out, but most of the time that was because I hadn't pushed it all the way into the CD slot after moving it.I also had a couple of minor annoyances. If I had a MagSafe ring attached to my phone case, the phone wouldn't fit securely in the holder, so I'd have to remove the ring first. I also couldn't let my phone rest all the way on the bottom support because it would press my phone's power button. I had to position the phone so it was essentially floating just above the base, which wasn't ideal but became second nature after a while.None of those issues were major enough to make me stop using it. It wasn't perfect, but it was reliable overall, lasted four years, and I'd say I definitely got my money's worth.
