I live in central NY state, where there are plenty of biting flies, mosquitoes, and similar. The 7% DEET in this container is plenty for almost any purpose. It's nearly completely odorless. It does have a vaguely greasy coating but that disappears after several minutes (but the DEET continues to be effective). I also like the facts that it's a spray container, so no compressed gases, etc. The flattened container fits nicely in a pocket of my cargo pants.A product advertised as similar 7% DEET in a cylindrical can of compressed gas,also in the OFF brand, leaves a layer of obvious white powder on anything you spray it on. You can't wipe that off, even with water. A soap and water laundering eventually gets it off clothing. That other brand of OFF is advertised as odorless, but it has an obvious obnoxious odor.

Even though it says unscented, it has a little bit of aloe scent which is pleasant. I like the fact that it is non-greasy, but it has alcohol which might sting a little if you get it near your eyes and wounds. I really like the fact that it uses deet and not some unproven ingredient. I have used many bottles of these over the years and I can honestly say it is my favorite. The picaridin version also works decently well. The product only lasts about half a day though, less if you sweat a lot. Be sure to get every piece of exposed skin because those mosquitoes are merciless! Lastly, the spritz has a lot more applications than aerosols which makes it a much better deal.
