Does the camera have the ability to turn while in a stationary position?

The camera is not motorized and only works in a stationary position. However, it has a wide field of view which they use to create a virtual pan effect, making it seem the camera is following you (even though it is stationary the whole time).

Can l place it indoors and point it out doors?

Yes, you can. It has a setting called "Window Mode" to help support this (from the app: "Window Mode allows your camera to see clearly through glass at night by disabling its infrared lights to remove glare"). Because of the layout of my front hall, front door, and outside front porch, the best place for me to put the camera is about 5 feet from the (glass) front door, point out onto the porch outside. This lets it catch motion outside and start recording.

Can nightvision be turned off? I didn’t see an option in the app.

The "Window Mode" setting turns off the infrared lights used by night vision.

do you need the subscription to view recorded video?

not if you use homekit. you can use apples recording in that case.
