It gets hotโฆ
Great product. I think Snap-On makes one similar, but this price is hard to beat and for what they cost, I could care less about the tool truck warranty! Iโve had zero issues out of this

Very Nice Kit
Really pleased with this purchase. My old butane soldering iron died, I went looking for a replacement. Wow, nice upgrade. First, big tank for more time between trips to the butane can. ๐๐ป The soldering iron function is about the same but the ability to convert to a good tool for heat shrink tubing is great. It takes time to let things cool and swap parts (or, be an idiot like me and use tweezers and small needle nose pliers to swap them hot ๐ค) but it lets you heat shrink tubing over your solder joint(s) without a heat gun/ a place to plug in a heat gun. The solder is seems to be good quality, good โflowโ and smooth, shiny joints. The whole kit is nice, post my first project it went into my tool box just as it was shipped except for a tinned (easy to tin) soldering tip, slightly dirty sponge and a tank of butane. Even the tiny sponge was useful for tip cleaning. Not the cheapest option but a very good deal in my opinion. One caveat, all that is assuming the work isnโt delicate enough to require fine temperature control. Like any butane tool the heat adjacent is gross, not fine. Worked great for 18 AWG copper, plenty of heat to quickly get the wire hot enough for a pretty join. I think it would be fine for most stuff amateurs use every day, maybe less so if youโre working with 36 AWG, a PWB or any really delicate work.

Excellent quality at a budget price.
The overall build quality, design, and ergonomics of this gun is top notch this thing punches well above it's price point. I feel I'm going to get many, many years out of this thing. I'll be sure to definitely update if anything malfunctions. PROs -It's fuel efficient -Quite ergonomic -The tip heats up to soldering temp on par with high end stations -The build quality and fit n finish is excellent -Versatility is excellent with this, you can solder a wire then heat shrink in one shot no tip changes, you use the tips exhaust. Also the other tips are good for a multitude of things. CONs -A mild learning curve, barely anything honestly -The cases hings are stiff but don't feel flimsy -It doesn't cook and clean up around the house -You have to be mindful of the tip exhaust in tight areas, you could accidentally melt something. TIPs -Use high quality butane 7x or higher -If your mesh in the tips gets clogged or too dirty from poor quality butane you will have sputtering issues. (IMPORTANT: This method makes a lot of smoke do it OUTSIDE) You can clean it with injector cleaner and qtips. Put a few drops on the mesh and let sit for 10 or so minutes, rub with the qtip to clean and remove excess solvent, use the torch option on the solder gun and burn away the solvent on the mesh, then put the tip on the soldering gun run for 10-20 minutes on low, if it doesn't ignite use the torch again and burn more off. If it continues to sputter after all of the solvent is burnt away it means 1 of 3 things. The mesh is still dirty, your butane is not clean enough, or you have it turned up too high.

dangerous, I would not try to sell it.
Junk, all three failed after short period of time, do not ignite anymore, when I took a lighter to get it started it exploded in my hand.

Good price, light weight, works well.
I got this to replace a similar, but larger iron I have been using for 16yrs. This one is smaller than my original, which I didn't realize when ordering, but thats my fault for not looking at the dimensions. Smaller can be a good thing, as mine was heavier and much larger. It does work well, but I was disappointed when the very first use, the threaded locking collar that holds the tip on popped out of place when a little pressure was applied while soldering. This never happened with my old one that I used for over 16yrs. So I wont say its bad quality, but I will say it could use some improvement in design on that locking collar/nut. I dont see anything wrong with it, its not broken, it just jumped a thread or two which made the tip loosen and sit crooked. It is a plastic collar that threads onto a plastic neck. My old one was the same style with the threaded screw on style barell for tip changes, but because it was a bigger model, the plastic was thicker and heavier. If it happens again, I am going to see if I can exchange it for another. It does work well, when it stays together, I think I just got one that maybe was flawed during production, or the design itself may need a little heavier construction. My old one had a clear tank for fuel, which I loved because I could always see how much gas was left, this one does not. Its a solid black tank, and you basically have to wait till it runs out, or keep it topped off if you dont want to run out of fuel during a project. Its very light to hold, and and did come with everything shown. The little built in stand that folds out is key when you need to put it down. Overall, this is a good iron. Don't let my review stop you from purchasing if your interested, I just had really high standards being that my last one lasted for so long and I never had an issue with it in all those years. I do love gas fuel over battery or corded irons. This is super handy when mobile, working outside on a vehicle, or just dont have an outlet nearby. A battery operated iron wont last nearly as long as fuel that you can keep filling during projects that require a lot of soldering. If your thinking of getting this, I would say get it. Just make sure your collar is tight before using, because it will be too hot to put back in place right away if the tip jumps sideways and becomes loose when pressed against.

Convenient to use
My old butane soldering iron wouldnโt hold a charge anymore so I shopped for a new one. The iroda ignites and heats up fast. Such a great little tool.

Bad tip design
I previously left a 4 star review but after a few uses I have changed my mind. The tips have two sets of fine mesh/catalysts which totally disintegrate and fall out after a few uses rendering a perfectly good tip useless. The tips are expensive and you don't want to be changing them prematurely due to this design flaw. Best avoided, I have gone back to my 50k as the tips on that model do not suffer from this failure.
