The product itself is great. It was set up and operational. However, it arrived a couple weeks late.
I have decided to give this a 5 start rating because it is still working 5 years later and has ran for months on end incubating eggs for us. -> Retracted --- Simply because of the trouble in shipping, waiting and loss, I can not give this company a 5 star rating. I have update my rating from a 3 star to a 4 star. At the bottom I have also updated my hatching report from our first batch in Maine. This item was shipped to the wrong address in the wrong state and then reshipped to the correct address two weeks late. The company was relatively proficient with communication on the issue. This delay was costly for our operation and set us back 2 weeks on our orders. The company via email said they would make it "right" but to date (16 May 2017) has not. They asked what they could do to make it right and I sent my reply. To that I get an email that says:Hi Michael,Deal. I will get it over to the warehouse right away! Thanks for your understanding and patience!**** That email was 3 weeks ago and I am still waiting on the agreed deal.--------------------------------------------------------------------------------The product itself is great. It was set up and operational pretty much out of the box with very little effort or assembly. The directions were understandable and clearly written and the quality is good. The machine was plugged in and water added and let sit for about 8 hours and it looked to be ready to go so we loaded the eggs. The first 288 eggs were put in the incubator 26 April and the first chick hatched out 15 May @ 2300 (2 days early). We had the incubator set at the 100.0* from the factory and it kept the internal temp at about 99.8*. The next morning had another 10 hatch and many more that are peeping. With another 48 due 30 May, this incubator is showing to be a GREAT investment (minus the wait and slow start due to a shipping error). -- Due to the EARLY hatching, we set the temp to 99.8 and the inside is holding at 99.5-99.6 when I check and log the temp and humidity. We candled all the eggs after 13 days and of the 288 eggs that went into the incubator there were 48 (17%) that did not take for one reason or another. We pulled those out and filled another rack and added it to the top shelf back position and they are due on 30 May. Tonight when I check on the status of the hatching eggs I will candle the last rack we put in and give an update on the success of the take. (This usually has NOTHING to do with the incubator themselves but more the chickens and roosters. - BUT people want to know.)The included water box lasts for about 3 1/2 days (in Colorado at 5,300') with 45-55% humidity. Now that I put in a water wick and raised the Humidity up to 65%, it has used 1/3 of the water in 24 hours so I am guessing 3 days on a tank of water without the Reserve System.----------------------------------------------------------------------------First batch -- Overall hatch rate was 83% or 240 eggs hatching out of 288 eggs.--------------------Second hatching started with 12dz eggs. After candling we had 18% that didn't take so we ended the run with 118 (almost 10dz) eggs still growing. The incubator was filled with 12 more dozen eggs and they will get candled 15 June.--------------------Fast forward to 2018 and a move from Colorado to Maine. We are settled in and running the incubator again at 100' above sea level (ASL) compared to in Colorado @ 5,300' ASL.Here is the hatching report for 96 of 288 eggs.First batch of 96 eggs resulted in:- 6 Eggs not fertile (6%) (not the fault of the incubator)= 90 Eggs fertile and started growing (94%)- 12 did not hatched (13%)= 78 Hatched (87% hatch rate)After sexing the ones that hatched, we have:30 Cockerels (38%)48 Pullet (62%)Second set of 96 of 288 eggs are due to hatch in 4 days.- 3 Eggs not fertile (3%) (not the fault of the incubator)= 93 Eggs fertile and started growing (97%)We are now hatching Quail in this incubator and it is still working GREAT. sitting at about 80-85% hatch rate with 124 eggs per week hatching out.

Excellent Hatches
I'm so happy with this machine. I've struggled with lesser incubators for several years. It's always a constant balancing act to keep the little styrofoam models or even the older cabinet models at the right temperature and humidity levels. GQF Sportsman Model #1502 is working out great for me. I've been using it for about 70 days now and have had no problem with it.I've received an awesome hatch rate out of this incubator. The digital read is very accurate. I have only seen a variance of one tenth of one degree from this sportsman I've found that the humidity stays at 50% with the water tray full and one of the outside plugs open. Depending upon your humidity level you may have to put in more or less plugs. When hatching time comes near, I put the sponge that come with the humidity tray inside the tray in the channel that is built for it, and it amps up the humidity perfectly for a great hatch. I refill the humidity tray about every 4 days.Putting it together was not difficult. You have to unscrew the screw at the top of the box to release the door and then attach the parts to it. It comes with a good set of directions and took us about 10 minutes to get the unit set up. The hatching box, located at the bottom of the #1502 is made of corregated plastic so it can be cleaned and then air dry between hatches..The 1502 is a digital thermostate so I just set it at the temperature I want and it stays there. I can choose between manual and automatic egg turning. The only time I put it on manual is if I need to level out the trays so that I can put a tray in or out of the incubator.***Please rate my review as "Helpful" if it helped you. :) Thanks!

Great Device for any Farm
Mine came dented from shipping, there needs to be a double wall of cardboard to better protect the Incubator. But in the grandness of my farm, it's no worse than a dent in my barn or rusty scratch on my tractor's attachments, so I moved on with life. With that one complaint out of the way (not worth losing a star over) we are very happy with GQF's products and would recommend them to others. I can tell that they continue to develop and improve them from the instructions and we've had great success. The outside of the cabinet is made of that new PVC or Poly material, which reduces weight and makes it easy to clean. The racks are about 1/2" larger than the trays, I'm guessing there is a larger tray that causes that. Making the trays match the rack size would be optimal. The trays are turned at pre-determined intervals, that you set (from a selection of choices). You do not get to determine the humidity level, that is based on the amount of moisture wicking from the water tray, however I have not had any issues with this so far. The fans are not exactly quiet, but they are not bothersome either. When they trays are rotated, the motor is louder than I had expected, but again, not bothersome. It comes with feet that use double stick tape to mount them and while I'm not worried they will fall off, they should ship the casters option in addition to the feet. Overall, I would say it is a well-built piece of equipment, which I recommend for others and I will purchase the GQF brand again.

Leaking
The media could not be loaded. The incubator operates and works as it should the only problem is when the humidity gets high it collects on the door and runs down and leaks at the bottom I had already dried up the water in the video but you can still see where it was and sat all door latches are as they should be and the incubator is sitting level not sure why it did this but can ruin wood with water stains I have contacted the seller and will update if and when I hear from them
