HEPA Upright Vacuum Cleaner, Lightweight Bagged Upright Vac

I am absolutely in love with this Oreck Vacuum!! I have owned many vacuums and this one outperforms them all! You turn the thing on and it moves by itself dragging me along with it! A dream to operate! Very light weight and extremely powerful suction. I like that it has 2 settings..low for hardwood and high for carpet. The HEPA filter is HUGE due to my allergies to dust and pollen. I vacuumed my whole house yesterday ( 2,500 sq ft ) and never broke a sweat. It just glides around. Some reviewers have complained that it is louder than they would have liked. So What?!?! This thing is powerful and my floors have never felt better in bare feet. I would give this 10 STARS if I could!

My wife and I wanted a nice vacuum that would last for well over a decade . Having gone from a $20 vacuum we invested in a $200 shark. We were disappointed. Top heavy, held a cup worth of debri, ect. This Oreck is light but doesn't feel cheap. It feels well made. It self propells without resisting you. On low it is quiet and picks up debri before you even go over the area by several inches. I could go on, as it is literally the best vacuum we've ever used. My family gave us their 30 year old oreck and it still works great. Noteworthy Features: self propells, great suction, simple, very well made, led lights, power selection. Best feature: it is unlike most modern, overly complicated vacuums that are all hard plastic material. It knows it's just supposed to be a vacuum cleaner :) .

I bought this vacuum in August of 2022. My last Oreck was purchased in 2002 and it lasted till 2013. I was expecting this one to do the same or at least last 6 or 7 years. First, was the smell, I noticed it gave off a stinky foot smell every time I vacuumed. Last year, 2024, the entire top handle broke off. I was able to fix it with duck tape. Then a few weeks ago, the little lever that holds the cord I place broke off. Now, it doesn’t pick up dirt anymore. It spits out the dirt it picks up. To say I am disappointed is an understatement. It didn’t have to last as long as the old Oreck but this is unacceptable for a $400 machine. I will not be purchasing another Oreck. Now I have to buy another vacuum in less than 4 years. I feel like they wronged me.

This is a lightweight, simple and powerful vacuum cleaner. For some reason, it is getting harder to find decent vacuum cleaners for under $500 (If you can afford it, I recommend Miele). I like the simplicity of this Oreck-to maintain it you just change the bags, and there are no bells and whistles or "smart" features to worry about. It doesn't lie completely flat, and has no lights, but the design is clean and attractive, and the suction is decent. It also has an extra long cord, which is a nice feature. There are 2 settings, 1 for floors and 1 for carpet. I have a lot of hardwood floors, and it has not damaged them. The biggest downside is that this vacuum acts like a wild horse. The minute you turn it on, it goes charging across the floor by itself, and it will eat anything in its path. The first time I used it, it destroyed a sisal rug that it passed, by snaring a corner and unraveling it. Continuing on, it grabbed a plastic wrist strap on an umbrella and tore that off-I'm sure it would have ingested the whole umbrella if it could. It is also LOUD. But I've kissed a couple of frogs to get to it, and I'm keeping it.

Love this vacuum. Bought it to replace our 15-yr old Oreck which finally stopped working. This one looks good, has the nice headlights feature, has two speeds, and is pretty quiet. I almost got the Commercial version which is also sold on Amazon but I think this one is nice for home use. Supposedly it is basically Oreck's mid-level vacuum sold in its site but with a shorter warranty. Good value.

Excellent Vacuum Picks up very well

Handle broke off after 18 months of light use... Not what I am used to with orecks; still have 2 orecks, one is 9 years old, the other 15 years old - both still with non broken handles. The handle on this model must be super cheap lower quality plastic than in previous models. Wondering if it is worth the $300 to use for 18months before a repair is necessary???

This vacuum is really self propelled, lightweight and streamlined to get in spaces most vacuums can’t. The headlamps are outrageous! I turn the lights off and find dust and dirt you’d never see in a well lit room. The HEPA feature was a must for me, as well as the bagged component. If you just dump a canister of dust in the trash, much will go airborne. It also has a completely sealed system so there’s no blow back - that’s hard to find. It’s built to last and does an excellent job on both hardwoods and carpet. I highly recommend.
