Thirty yards is still 30 yards, no matter how small the viewing screen. Just like its big brothers on the Sony PlayStation and Nintendo 64, NFL Blitz 2000 for the Game Boy Color charges you that same amount of ground for a first down. This NFL Blitz 2000 is the portable way to play the fiercest, most brutal football game around. Illegal hits and impossible moves are the order of the day as players brawl their way to the end zones in this fun-filled fantasy football game. Many improvements have been made since the series first made its Game Boy debut. Football players are now easier to see against the nearly neon green playing field. Team colors are realistically represented in this update, too. Blitz features full NFL licensing, so all of your favorite big-time players are present. Quarterbacks can choose from a library of 18 plays, while the defense can select from nine standard sets. Players can take part in either the single-game arcade mode or the full season mode. Play against the CPU, or use a link cable to go head-to-head with another person in a bone-crunching, no-holds-barred, no-move-is-illegal pigskin melee. --Bill Hutchens Pros: Horizontal view lets players see more of the field Cool mini movies at breaks in play Game Boy Printer prints out stats Cons: Should have been a rumble pack game Unrealistic play may turn off some players
