Tailwind Nutrition Endurance Fuel, Naked Unflavored, 50-Serving Bag

Tailwind is my go-to carb mix for long rides. I’ve used their products for a little while now and have found that their products mix well and are easy enough on my stomach. This one is flavorless as described so it’s only some sweetness when you’re consuming. I find that after consuming a bunch of flavored gels and such, the flavorless option is a welcomed reprieve. Their customer service was great too - my bag arrived damaged so I reached out to them. After supplying a picture and description they sent me a new bag quickly.

I have been using this product for a few weeks now during my long runs (I'm training for a half marathon). I ordered the naked/unflavored version, but I would not categorize it as "unflavored." There is definitely a flavor...kind of mildly lemon/lime. I do not mind the flavor but if you want something that truly has no taste then this will not satisfy you. I find the product very easy to mix, it dissolves very well. I find that I prefer it to be ice cold rather than room temp as it can leave kind of a sticky feeling in my mouth at room temp. I usually freeze my water if I'm running on a warm day so this is not an issue for me. The best thing about this product is that I truly feel better while I'm running and that I can continue without having to walk as often. I don't feel hungry at all while I'm running. I do find that I don't feel as hydrated and have a dry mouth (I think due to the previously mentioned "sticky feeling"), so if I pass a water fountain on my run I will stop and drink from that. During a race you could just get plain water at aid stations or carry two bottles, one with plain water. I also have had no stomach issues while using Tailwind. Overall I am very pleased with this product and will continue to use it.

It’s a great product, tried it this month on a half ironman (6.5 hrs) and on a 50K trail run (6 hrs) with no side effects whatsoever and no cramping. Very easy to digest and the Naked flavor is actually great. But I had to take a protein bar 2/3 into the 50K run (very exhausting/hilly) to get back my mental clarity and better energy. Learned from other ultra runners (and other products) since then that protein is needed for very long workouts to prevent a drop in sugar levels. Will always use protein from now on, in addition to the energy nutrition. Will probably not renew if the competing product, which has 4g of protein per serving, works better. But otherwise this is an excellent product for shorter events! 10/2/2020 update: Tailwind Nutrition promptly clarified for me how to add protein to the fueling strategy, and it’s a great idea. Giving this a 5-star now! Response: "It's actually even easier...just use straight Rebuild as it contains glucose and sucrose, similar to our Endurance Fuel. We have some customers on very long efforts who, like you, would like some protein. They'll end up using both products with Endurance Fuel as their primary fuel and Rebuild interjected every now and then."

Works well. Went on a 50 mile bike ride with this in my 2L bladder. Didn't feel worn out or dehydrated. I will use this in future Ultra races and shorter gravel races.

I think its a good product, maybe a bit sweeter than a thought but nothing crazy. Definitely could buy again.

I’ve been using Tailwind for years, and it has been a game-changer for my running journey. From my first marathon to my ultra marathon, and all the training in between, Tailwind has been my go-to nutrition. On hot runs, when it’s hard to get down other nutrition, Tailwind is always there to keep me going. It keeps me feeling great on all my running adventures. Highly recommend the product and they have great customer service to match!

I use this in my water when running/biking/ hiking etc. on long, hot days. Works well. Flavour is okay. Good for electrolyte replacement and also some extra calories for those long days. It is kind of expensive though. But good stuff.
