This wire is 100% copper, not copper plated aluminum like some cheaper brands. The twin jacket is flexible and easily stripped. Both strands are also wrapped in a clear outer coating to add some abrasion resistance and to ease splitting the pair.

Product is true 8 AWG. Red and black shielded copper strand sets are connect with a durable clear film. Red/black are easily separated (like a wishbone) w/ wire snips; they otherwise hold together well. I purchased this product for an on-board air compressor, which has worked w/out fail. Not sure about other uses such as a stereo system.

At the time of purchase it was around $28 for the entire roll and for 8 gauge OFC thats unbeatable. There is a clear cover over both wires that makes it hard to flex so if that were removed it would be even better wire. I used a razor blade to cut the clear sleves off the ends of the wire to make it work better for my project.

Great quality. None of that copper plated aluminum junk here! Is a little stiff, but if u want the flexibility of a peice of string your going to have to have cheap flimsy materials..

I have used this brand and product extensively in my 12v automotive projects. It is a bit pricier than the copper clad aluminum but for good reasons. Definitely recommend. Quality wire and nice outer coating.

This cord carries current like nobody's business, and doesn't break a sweat. That is, unless you go over the current limit for 8 awg cable. But if you don't, then this is your cable! Real copper, solders well, crimps fine, no problemo.
