Great, but, your cooktop may not like it for non-cast iron pans
Really like these. They keep my pans from sliding around and they do keep the cooktop cooler vs a pan right on the glass top. The only caveat I'd have, and they do disclose it, is that some cookware may not work. The pad isn't very thick but our stainless steel cookware with a bonded bottom layer won't work, the cooktop doesn't "recognize" that the pan is there. No problem at all for cast iron pans which is what we use mostly. I have ordered thin high temp silicone sheet and cut circles to fit our burners (hobs) for use with those pans so they don't slide around but the cooktop does get noticeably hotter with the thin silicone - cooldown time with the hot indicator light is much longer with the thin sheet. Your cooktop may not have that issue, ours is a GE Profile so not a high end unit so YMMV.

Perfect. 100% better than the light-colored version.
When we got our "fancy" ceramic-top induction stove in our kitchen remodel a few years back, we were worried about the durability of the surface, which came with all kinds of warnings about using cast iron (our favorite kind of cookware) lest the surface be damaged. So I grabbed a previous version of this product, which was kind of a khaki color. I liked it because in addition to protecting from scratches, it also kept the area around the big burner mostly spatter-free. But it always looked dirty, and no amount of scrubbing or dishwashwering would get it clean. This one is the answer. LIKES This is a durable, Kevlar-(like?) mat to put on over the burner on your flat-top induction stove. It appears to be impervious to any level of heat, and it does not interfere with the induction process. As noted, it protects from scratches, although our experience has been the ceramic material does not in fact scratch easily. More importantly for us, it also prevents a lot of cooked-on spatter, which makes cleaning the stove much easier. Best of all, this one shows no stains. I can't even tell if they're not there or the dark color is covering them, but it looks like the day we bought it. DISLIKES None, really. The only way we've managed to damage one of these (besides the stains on the light-colored ones) was when someone accidently used it as a mat to cut something with scissors and slid the scissor underneath, snipping a little cut into it. So uh ... don't do that? It does fine in the dishwasher, and looks fine sitting on the stove. Five stars for the this BLACK COLORED ONE ONLY. There really is no reason to get the light color that will immediately absorb permanent stains.

Perfect for Induction stove!
I'd like to start off with, I'm not sure half the reviews for this product understand the difference between an INDUCTION stove and a RADIANT electric glass top. They look the same when off, they certainly don't operate the same. People who write the reviews complaining that it burned or melted and ruined their stove... I don't see how that's possible with an induction stove. My suspicion is that they put it on a radiant cooktop expecting it to withstand direct heat. If you turn the stove on with no pot, and it gets hot, YOU DO NOT HAVE AN INDUCTION. That out of the way, this product is awesome. My parents have used an induction cooktop for years, and in all my apartments, I've always just dealt with crappy stoves. When my local energy company had a rebate for induction stoves, I finally got one and boy am I happy. My biggest problem was the fact that pots and pans tend to slide around since the surface was so smooth. Back to my parents I went to ask how they handle it, and I saw that my dad has been making his OWN silicone ring to prevent sliding and to lift the pots off the glass to avoid scratching. Now, I can't make my own. I don't even know how, but I knew there had to be a product out there for just that purpose. Voila~! This product ticks all the boxes. It's nice looking, prevents sliding, and works on all my pots with the exception of my SMALLEST saucepot. That one I need to put on the stove directly, probably just not enough metal to really trigger the induction coil with a layer between them. Also, if you have a lighter color one, it WILL discolor. That's just the nature of the material over time and repeated heat. It does after some use leave a little bit of an imprint on the glass, but it's definitely not permanent. Just a little wipe with glasstop cleaner and it's back to being pristine. I have gotten even more lazy about it, and put a piece of paper towel between the product and glass surface, but I wouldn't leave it on there for longer cooks for fear of something happening. But the paper has never even browned or looked damaged in the short stirfrys I've done. Overall, I'm super happy with this product. Just make sure you have an INDUCTION stove and not a RADIANT electric glasstop!! UPDATE 7/9/2026 Still using this on my induction stove top for the past 4 years with daily use and aside from some discoloration, it's still going strong.

Good protection for the induction cooktop
These are great. Prevent the cooktop from getting scratched. The extra spacing sometimes interferes with a good induction transfer, but usually it's fine.

PADS MELT WHEN USED WITH CAST IRON GRIDDLE
The listing says these pads are compatible with cast iron. However, from my experience, NEVER use these pads with cast iron. I had my induction cooktop set to medium ( about 6-7) using a cast iron comal (griddle) to roast peppers. I put a small amount of oil in the pan when I heated up the comal so that it was not dry. Peppers roasted nicely. All seemed fine until I removed the pan and pad and saw that the pad had left a big scorch mark on the cooktop. I was able to buff off the mark with a microfiber cloth and cooktop cleaner, but there are still some faint marks left by the raised ribs of the pad. Prior to this, the cooktop was pristine! When I went to wash the pad, I realized the raised ribs were crumbling. I only had the pad for three months and had to toss it. I have bought these pads before -- and did have one of them start to fail almost immediately, but it did not mar the cooktop. I thought it defective and replaced it and haven't had a problem with them until now. I generally use these pads with Demeyere induction stainless steel and Le Creuset enameled cast iron dutch ovens without any problem, but learned the hard way that THESE PADS SHOULD NEVER BE USED WITH an uncoated cast iron comal/griddle shape. The flat cast iron keeps getting hotter and will melt these pads.

Love them!
Great compliment to my induction range! Don’t worry about cracking the glass top anymore. Would buy again!

USE COMMON SENSE
This is the best thing you can buy to protect a induction top. It keeps the stove from getting hot from the pan extending the life of unit and the glass looks perfect after cooking with out no spots fading or scratching vortually like a new unit. A induction top with out this hob is a very bad decision. A little pricey but well wroth it.

Good product
This works great for keeping my rough-bottomed pans from scratching the new stovetop surface. The induction seems to work just as well through this material.

Love highly recommend
So I went for these on I think a YouTube review. Compared with others I knew they would be a better quality. I chose a mixture of sizes to suit my use. Large ring and small ring plus two large squares if I need to take something out the oven as useless previously finding space. They look more of a light grey on the photos but are a charcoal grey and not as noticeable. Yes it was pretty much £25 each so £100 for all four purchased but I’m happy these will last. Had on high heat, seems not to have any heat loss that I’ve noticed. Perfect for my induction hob. Also makes easier to clean as they wipe down easy. Obviously need to be careful but with pan off it does recognise as no pan on the hob so cools down properly. Happy I paid the money. Suppose didn’t need all four but thought to take a tray out the oven and have a hob on at same time I can use for purpose. All hobs, no problem.

Works on Asian high heat stir fry, did not melt
Great product and good quality. Semi hard resilient material with external silicon prevents oil 'stickiness'. Has tiny surface dimples on both sides kinda prevents scratching on hob surface too, also allows airflow. Best way to describe product is : It's hardly there after getting use to it; ie once when washing hob surface accidentally push it away not realizing its there (matt similar dark color) in first place. Works , washable too. We stir fry Asian style on high heat settings albeit fast too (<1hr continuous) and it did not melt.
