Both models use Oral-B's "magnetic iO technology," which combines oscillating-rotating and micro-vibrations for an experience that feels more like ultrasonic brushing than the older Oral-B series. After each session, I’m left with that fresh-from-the-dentist smoothness, and yes, both models deliver equally in that department. If the actual brushing is what matters most to you, the Series 6 holds up well. But once you start looking at the extras, the Series 9 really starts to shine. Let's talk about the charging setup. The Series 6 has a basic charger—functional, but nothing to write home about. In contrast, the Series 9’s charger feels like it could double as a paperweight in a windstorm; it’s sturdy and, dare I say, elegant. And for those constantly on the go, here’s where the Series 9 really scores big: its case isn’t just a case; it's practically a mini power station! The travel case for the Series 6 feels flimsy, like something you’d get in a happy meal, but the Series 9’s case could probably survive a fall down a mountain (though I’m not volunteering to test that). Battery life is where the Series 9 once again pulls ahead. I can usually go about two weeks without recharging with both models, but the extended battery life with the Series 9 means I could probably escape into the wilderness and brush my teeth for a month with power to spare. So which one am I tossing into my suitcase? The Series 9. Because sometimes, your teeth deserve the VIP treatment.

I absolutely love this toothbrush. I love the settings and having 30 second increments of cleaning each section of your mouth. It does a great job cleaning your teeth and leaving your mouth happy and clean. It’s definitely worth the price as it lasts longer than other toothbrushes out there. Worth the buy!

This electric toothbrush is excellent. It cleans my teeth thoroughly and reaches areas that a manual brush can’t. The vibration is strong yet gentle on the gums, making brushing comfortable. The battery lasts a long time and charges quickly. The design is ergonomic and easy to hold, and the brush heads are easy to replace. My teeth feel much cleaner and my mouth feels fresher after every use. Highly satisfied with this purchase and would definitely recommend it.

After using the product for about a year it started manifesting all sorts of problems. One of the problems is as other people mentioned, the issue with the battery. The unit will show 95% charge and suddenly shows 0% charge and stops. After you put in back to charge for 3 minutes, it is again at 20% and then it jumps itself to 75% etc. One other issue is while you are brushing the teeth, the unit will simply stop and start to reboot itself or stop and refuse to restart until after sometime. Still, the unit can turn on and off on itself. I though there were ghosts in my bathroom turning on and off the brush, lol. As for the software in general, I also had all sorts of issues. After I explained the issue to Oral B, their customer service is extremely good ; no complaints here. They sent me a replacement toothbrush and also sent me a box to send them the old toothbrush and they paid for shipping and everything. One of the best customer service experiences I can say. I was excited. Unfortunately, the new toothbrush IO9 they sent me started developing the exact similar problems after only 3-4 months. At least the one I sent them took me about a year before to start showing problems. I was so disappointed because this is not a cheap toothbrush. I spent about $300 for it. I googled issues with IO toothbrushes and noticed that I wasn’t the only one facing those exact issues. I was relieved it is not because of ghosts in my bathroom I was having those issues. This time i decided I won’t waste my time calling customer support again about the second unit they sent me. I accepted the loss and decided to move on. I bought another OralB but a non IO series. The Genius series. I never had any issues with it.

Here's my look at it: This toothbrush is for lazy people who just don't like morning routines. Powered toothbrushes clean so much better compared to manual ones! This one has so much power my gums bled at the beginning. What I like: - long handle, can reach places you wouldn't reach with short toothbrush - timer that shows how long do you have to brush for - battery lasts (took it on a trip with no charger, 1 week daily use - no problem, can probably last even longer) - changing this battery is possible - bottom unscrews, no glue/adhesive/buy a new unit bs! - thank you, Braun engineers - relatively impact resistant. I dropped it 3 times on a hard tile floor, and it survived the fall. You shouldn't test it, because it depends which way it falls and on what surface, but mine is fine. - has an app. This app allows you to track what teeth exactly you have brushed, but I found it excessive, while it is a 'wow' technology for someone who are crazily obsessed with oral hygiene, I am just brushing without it now. Which one to pick? Honestly, I'd go with io7 if you don't care about bells and whistles, especially if the price is tasty. If it costs around $200, go with this one. What I don't like: - I wish manufacturer let me position toothbrush vertically in the case (make a small indentation for it to stand), instead of dismantling it every time when I travel - heads for it are kinda expensive - can be expensive, not a regular dollar store purchase TLDR; Hi-end electric toothbrush for lazy people who would want a quality teeth cleaning with some of the features that I found excessive, but otherwise built robust and does its job well.

I purchased the Oral-B iO Series 9 Electric Toothbrush with 3 Replacement Brush Heads after my last trip to the dentist. They had similar OB electric toothbrushes for sale there and I asked about them if they do any better than the classic manual brush. They raved about them, and they said the app was great for getting ideal coverage and really good for kids. So, I splurged on this model. Well, it was as good as they claimed. The ap works well and it does a very good job of cleaning, it feels like I just came back from the dentist. I also found out that I was brushing too hard. The ap tends to coach you to the perfect coverage and your gums appreciate it. You can use it with multiple people, you have to make sure you don't have multiple phones connected through Bluetooth at the same time though as it will get confused as to who is who. But just disconnect one then reconnect the other, it only takes a second. You don't even have to use an ap, it works fine on its own but the ap is pretty good. I took a video capture of the ap while brushing to see it in action. The music is not part of the ap ;) POSITIVES: + Does a great job of cleaning your teeth and gums + Replaceable heads for multiple user use + Long run time + Can get wet (use in shower even) + Well developed interactive ap via Bluetooth, surprisingly sophisticated + Wireless charging thru base. + Lots of feedback to coach you + Name brand should deliver good customer support NEGITIVES: - It is slightly inconvenient for multiple users using it that are in Bluetooth range at the same time - Expensive, it is a little too expensive for a single user - Not sure the firmware in this is upgradable. (The ap most like is) CONCLUSIONS: This is a solidly made electric toothbrush that is well designed and well thought out with good components. The price is just too high in my opinion for a toothbrush for a single user and a little tricky for multiple users. I do love it though, and if the price is not an issue for you, you should get this, it is probably the best toothbrush made. I give it 4 stars because of price and multiple user issues. RECOMMENDED. I actually purchased the io 9 series on Amazon almost a month ago. I'm not happy I purchased it day's before it went on sale. It's whatever.. Honestly I have to say this toothbrush is absolutely no joke and worth every dollar I paid. The io series is great I went with the io9 series because it comes with 4 brush heads that's good for around a year or more depending on how you use them . Also the lcd screen Honestly not necessary but I love it.. Most important the performance. This toothbrush cleans better than my dentist has ... My teeth get whiter on every use even while I'm using mouth freshener paste. I can only imagine if I try out some heavy grit whitner paste. Also I'm using it on daily clean not the highest level. It's an amazing toothbrush. If the battery dies it has a 2 year warranty or you can just buy a better 14500 battery Oral-B built this unit to be easy to service. As far as mold building up that's not happening with me. I use warm water to rinse out the brush head and main unit. I almost didn't purchase this because of people talking about mold build up! Smh . Honestly rinse it off as you would any tooth brush and dry it off and also let it air out & charge in a dry area. Please do not stick sharp things like picks in the top of the brush handle. There is a rubber seal that protects water from getting into the electronics and if you poke at it black stuff will come out because the seal is made out of black rubber! I will update this review if there are any issue's. If this is all your seeing know I'm a very happy customer and it's working 💪! I do not like I paid much more than the current sale price is but it's whatever...

Bought it last year as a Christmas gift and the battery is now done …. It did not last a great deal! We all use oral b for years, this is the first time battery life is so short

Feels quite different to previous electric brushes, very clean finish definitely worth it.

Within first few days I started noticing humidity from inside the glass of the screen. Then stoped working due to water leaking to the inside of the brush handle through the bottom side. I do not know if this is a manufacturing default or a design mistake. I hope I can get one that works.

Unfortunately the display stopped working after 6 weeks. Very disappointed. Fortunately the local Singapore Braun Service Centre replaced the toothbrush under warranty. However, unfortunately it was replaced with the only available handle color of Black, and not the great pink handle color that we originally purchased.
