Cuisinart PRC-12 Classic 12-Cup Stainless-Steel Percolator, Black/Stainless

110v appliance. Comes with a US lead only. Didn't see anything in the instructions to say it was safe to use on a 220v (UK) system. Contacted the manufacturer to ask. The generic response of "a list of our products is on our website" was worthless. Who can say if this is safe to use in the UK (well the manufacturer didn't) so what would my insurers have said if there was a fault and a fire? Returned. Amazon brilliantly gave me a full refund and free return shipping. Thank goodness I bought it through them.

My first Cuisinart PRC-12 was a gift, and I loved it because it brewed better coffee than the drip coffee makers that I had been using previously. It also lasted for a long time before the heating element began to fail. It lasted for at least four years, and probably longer before I noticed it couldn't make coffee any longer. I used the percolator every day. After some thought, I decided to buy the same percolator again, and it is still great. I use paper filters inside the brew basket by punching a hole in a 12 cup coffee filter with a bamboo skewer, and that keeps grounds out of my coffee. Also, when the plastic ball in the lid broke, I found a website where I bought 2 more of them to replace just the bulb and not the whole lid, so spare bulbs are available. The original plastic bulb lasted nearly the whole lifetime of the percolator, so at least four years and maybe five. Bottom line, this percolator is worth a try. I like strong, hot coffee and this percolator makes it great. I tried a camping style stove top percolator in the interim, and it worked, but the inside parts were made of flimsy aluminum, and it was possible to boil the coffee too much and ruin it, if I got busy doing something else. This percolator stops perking automatically and has a warm setting, which I appreciate.

I'm a sixty year old coffee lover and have had a lot of coffee machines. This one, because it's stainless steel, makes a truly great cuppa. Plastic coffee makers always give off some slight plastic toxins into your coffee, but this does not. So, just from a Good Health perspective it's a great thing. Easy to use, to clean and makes great tasting, hot, coffee.

Me gusta mucho esta cafetera porque una vez hecho el cafe desconecto la jarra y me la llevo a la mesa. Ojo no tiene boton de apagado asi que no puedes olvidar desconectarla. cada mes tengo que hacerle un lavado profundo a la canasta para destaparle los hoyitos Una vez desconectada el cafe se enfria rapido aun asi es mi cafetera favorita
