IT s easy to use great style versatile and has a variety of settings and desired cuts ...functions just as good as a commercial kitchen mandolin easy to clean the speed depends on how comfortable you are with it easy to assemble different blades for variety of cuts

It's easy to use. The functionality is the best. Makes my preparation fast, easy. I can adjust the thickness. Its safe to use. I have different blade options, depending what I want.

Out daughter really likes thsi food slicer because it's easy to operate and it makes slicing foods a breeze. She also likes the thickness selector. Other slicers require a blade or a platform change to get different thicknesses. With this, change the thickness on the fly. The cut-resistant gloves are almost unnecessary as long as one uses the food holder properly. The blade stays sharp even with repeated, frequent use. Overall, a good slicer at a good price makes this a good value.

I was searching for mandolin slicer and no other slicer has met my expectations except this one. You can change the thickness of your slices which is the best feature. The blade is very sharp. It does come with a blade guard but it is very thin and protects you from getting injured. Wish the guard was wider because replacing it on the blade feels like an injury waiting to happen. It comes with gloves but I wouldn’t trust them. It also has a good holder to slice the food. It has adjustable legs for better stability while slicing the food. You can also dice food.

Works well with most vegetables

I like this item. It's sharp. The grip is quite good. I like the variety of blades, but I don't like that the serrated blade only comes in two sizes. Based on the description, I expected to be able to adjust the size of the serrations. I can only do that with the straight blade. It's good quality and easy to clean. You just have to be careful, as it's a knife. The cutting speed is acceptable; I've seen better. Overall, it's a good buy.

This is a great item. I’ve never had one before so can’t compare it to others. I did learn the hard way that you SHOULD WEAR the gloves it comes with unless you want to lose the tip of a finger. I like that I can easily adjust it for very thin cucumber slices, etc.

I’m an experienced cook and have a very complete and well-used suite of quality knives and tools, but a mandoline was not among them prior to purchasing the one currently under review. So I tried it out several times, and each time I managed to cut myself, either during the operation of the slicer or while cleaning it in the sink. I always handle sharp tools with great caution, so the fact that I could not handle the mandoline without injury, or had to wear special gloves to use it (or clean it!) should (and did) come as a big wake-up call. Even if safety were not a concern, I found the mandoline to be an inefficient way to slice or julienne food items (I tried it with potatoes and carrots). You have to cut the food items into small pieces in order for them to fit in the “gripper,” and they tend to slide out. You have to lean on the food to keep it engaged with the blades (“leaning” on it occasioned one of the injuries I received to my thumb when the potato slid out from the gripper despite my efforts). The result was a significant amount of food waste compared to the precisely-cut vegetables. Unlike a quality chef’s knife, there is also no recommended way to sharpen the mandoline. I didn’t use mine long enough for it to become dull, but the inevitably dull blade would only enhance the safety issues. The risk of sharp blades in soapy water during cleaning tempts one to avoid cleaning it thoroughly, which presents yet other hazards. I don’t recommend this gadget for use by ANYONE. I do recommend purchasing some quality knives, learning how to use, care for and store them properly, and patiently taking the time to slice food properly!
