Companion Stainless Steel Fixed-Blade Knife with Sheath, 4.1 Inch,Black

Moraknives are fantastic, nothing more needs to be said. In my picture I originally bought the green one with the carbon steel blade and was so impressed I bought the orange with the stainless immediately after. These are comfortable, durable, multi-purpose, and SHARP. You’re getting $50+ worth of knife for $15. By multi-purpose, I mean you can use it as an every-day carry, a toolbox/fishing/outdoors knife, a hunting knife, or a kitchen knife. It’s that good. If I have one qualm, and it’s extremely minor, I’d have preferred a black sheath. The sheathes being the same bright green and orange colors as the knives make them stand out a ton when worn, but again, not really the biggest deal. But they’re light, they hold the knives securely, and the clip is a nice touch when most knives only offer a belt loop. File these under “will not regret purchase.”

I carry a Leatherman around with me all the time. I use it at home, work, and for camping. While it has performed well over the years, I wanted a knife that had a slightly bigger blade on it that I could use for some more robust tasks. With the exception of the Leatherman, I don't think I've ever bought a knife before. I have a lot of nice ones that were given to me as gifts over the years but the problem is....I don't like to use them! They are just too nice and expensive. For example, my wife bought me this really nice Benchmade pocket knife that has my initials engraved on the side of the blade. I love to look at it...but I'm not taking that camping to hack up some tinder for the fire. Anyway, I wanted an inexpensive knife that would be an all purpose workhorse for the tool table in the garage, the defender of the yard work chores, and the champion of the camping trip. After doing a little research, I eventually was brought to the Morakniv Companion. The reviews looked good and the price was unbelievable. I decided to take a chance on it and I am very glad I did. This is a great feeling knife and yes it is very sharp! Before I got to attached to it's "newness", I immediately put this thing to work out in the yard. I took some fallen tree limbs and began trimming them up to make some tomato stakes for the garden. Trimming them up and sharpening the ends to a point proved to be no problem for the knife. I used it assist in removing some of my vegetables from the plants and to cut some twine for another job. By the end of the day, I was cutting up and breaking down some cardboard boxes with it. The knife doesn't look as new anymore...but she still is plenty sharp! The knife feels good and the hard shell sheath does a great job of keeping it secure. The Morakniv is much more comfortable to use compared to my Leatherman and I prefer to use a knife like this for bigger tasks. I think having the combination of both my multi-tool and this particular knife will prove to be a winning combination around the house and for camping trips. It's well made and one that is not so expensive that I'm too scared to put it to work. I recommend.

This is my favorite Mora! Perfect size, weight, thickness, razor sharp, perfect handle, very grippy, stainless, you can’t go wrong! I planned on making a sheath for it but the one it comes with is great. Great retention and very smooth in and out. Still might make one so I can attach to a Tek Lok though. Buying a backup tomorrow!

I already like Morakniv knives, so I picked up this Companion mainly because I wanted the black version. It has the same simple, practical design I expect from Mora, and the handle feels comfortable and secure in my hand. The stainless steel blade is easy to maintain and works well for general outdoor, camping, and fishing tasks. I also like the included sheath because it keeps the knife protected and easy to carry with my gear. For me, the black color gives it a cleaner look than some of the brighter Morakniv options. If you already like Mora knives, this is another solid one to add to the collection.

Pros: I give this a 5 star rating for the price and practical design. It's super light for backpacking/ BC skiing/hunting/etc... it's stainless steel, sharp, the sheath retains the knife very well , the sheath doesn't soak up water, the sheath can be attached to any waistband, and most of all its inexpensive. Cons: for a fixed blade I could use a slightly large blade for baton-ing wrist sized firewood, like a taller blade, so that you get more drive into the wood before the blade is buried. I thought it would replace a carbon steel, leather sheathed knife that rusts and is too heavy, that I have. Sometimes I can see the blade bending inside the wood if the grains twist, so far it springs back into shape afterwards. Works on pine and most western evergreens, don't use it on oak or dried out eucalyptus. But, hey, it's under 20$, break it and pull out the other one you bought for your boat/truck/cabin/shed/camper/garage/daughter/son/wife/brother/friend...etc

Proud to own this knife! Great quality, durable, maintains its edge well. I will definitely buy more. The sheath is a great build, fits on a bikini while diving. Nice widdle knife for around the campfire. Use caution as it is sharp!

Excellent knife, ergonomic, very sharp, stainless steel blade. I bought several for camping. They are now my wife's favorite knives (other than the Chef's knives)!!!

The Morakniv Companion Fixed Blade Knife, in my opinion, is probably the best overall fixed blade knife for its price to quality ratio. The knife costs a little over $15 for the black handled one, but man you get so much worth out of it that it probably pays for itself over and over again. Morakniv's have been made in Mora, Sweden, since 1891 so needless to say they are very proud of their knife making abilities, and it shows in the knife's overall craftsmenship. The blade on the knife is made of hardened high-quality Swedish Sandvik 12C27 stainless steel, which provides excellent edge performance allowing for razor sharpness, a high hardness rating (HRC 56-58), and exceptional toughness and superior corrosion resistance. The overall length of the blade is 4.1 inches and 0.1 inches thick, the overall length of the whole knife is 8.75 inches and it weighs only 4.1 ounces. This knife comes extremely razor sharp right out of the box. The handle is made out of a rubber that's patterned, giving it a high friction grip and making it very easy to hold and grip no matter the task at hand. It does come with a black plastic sheath with a belt holder, but this is the one weak spot with this blade, as it does allow for the blade to move slightly in the sheath and it doesn't offer superior protection like a kydex sheath would. Still, it's a nice compliment to have for the blade, and you could always upgrade the sheath at a later time. This fixed blade outdoor knife is perfect for a variety of outdoor activities, including making fire tinder, cutting wood, carving wooden tools, prepping food, making sparks with a Swedish fire steel, and much more. Every outdoor enthusiast, camper, survivalist, and anyone else looking for a solid, dependable knife should definitely add the Morakniv Companion fixed blade to their collection, and watch it outperform the majority of your much more expensive blades. I will be buying multiple Morakniv's in the future for friends, family, and even myself. This is my EDC knife.

Super design et qualité tres pratique

Como esperaba Morakniv jamás me decepciona, el cuchillo es muy ligero y se acomoda bien en la mano, el acero tiene buena retención de filo y es muy difícil dañar la punta. Después de utilizarlo por varios meses me parece que es un buen cuchillo para aprender a trabajar con madera o simplemente para llevar a tus acampadas ya que también puede servirte para preparar alimentos. Es importante que sepas que el acabado Scandinavo requiere que lijes el acero desde donde comienza la pátina del bisel "filo" hasta la punta o el borde cortante. Ya que de fábrica viene con un MICROBISEL el cual no es el adecuado para ese tipo de filo, sino estas seguro de como hacerle el acabado correcto consulta un tutorial en youtube es súper sencillo solo requieres práctica y paciencia.
