PRUNUS J189 Mini Bluetooth AM FM Radio, TF Card/USB/AUX Playback with Bass

This is probably the best radio. Very well engineered from good materials. Many features with no problems. Sound is superb, reception is amazing, ergonomics are perfect. Very well made with excellent fit and finish. I have dropped mine more times than I care to mention, but it still works perfectly. The only significant shortcoming seems to be that it will NOT broadcast Blue Tooth. It only receives blue tooth. Whats the point of having blue tooth if it cannot be transmitted?

USB, Bluetooth,radio, emergency light, good sound. All works great for me. Can even use it while charging. Best $20 I've spent on Amazon this year. UPDATE: 2025 - First one was stolen but the second one I bought was close to a year old. I had it charging in the car with it off. Was driving down the road and began to smell wire burning and thought it was my car until I reached down and grabbed the radio which was very hot so I immediately unplugged it. Needless to say it was burnt up and would not work again. Just a heads up.

Not bad. Decent but not great radio reception. Decent enough sound for how small and compacted is. Biggest downside is the battery life. It pretty much has to be plugged in at all times or it will not last at all. Still, not a bad little radio for the price and for what it is.

All I have to say so far this radio is great. I have been using at work for my 12 hour shift and the battery last sound is great. Reception quality is perfect. Only few channels is static but the rest of the radio channels it’s awesome so for $20 I’ll have to say it’s great radio to buy.

Pros: * A mechanical volume-control, great for sudden, needed, changes * Good FM radio reception in that mode * Decent AM radio reception in that mode * An headphone jack, allowing you to turn any headphone using a 3.5mm stereo plug as a Bluetooth headphone * The L.E.D. light us more useful than I'd thought it would be * The easily-replaceable battery seems sensible, but see one of the 'Cons' sub. I'll guess it does a decent job playing .mp3 files on microSD cards, but I haven't tested this. Cons: * Terrible range, easily loses connexion with 4m. separation. * A decent speaker for its size, but still tinny * The ON/OFF switch very easily gets switched by accident—it needs stronger detents * The battery cover comes off very easily and the battery out of tge unit if it falls. FIX: Tape the door. * The 'Bluetooth mode' announcement is obnoxious and delays the mode's use. FIX: Turn the volume to 0 when switching to it. * Again, terrible range

Cool, efficient and compact AM/FM radio at a reasonable price. Great features and working well, but time will be the real test - so ask again in a year or two.

The product is as advertised. It works well and has a good sound. Delivery was on time.

One cannot expect high fidelity soumd from the small speaker in this radio. My son-in-law works at home and a loud radio is not desirable. I use a good set of headphones or earbuds and this radio does a fine job of pulling FM stations in and the sound is really good. So, spend your money on a good headphone or earbuds, and this good low-priced rado, and you will be satisfied. It fits easily in a pocket and an external antenna is attached to the loop that goes around the wrist. I didn't want the loop since my radio goes in a pocket. Be careful not to cut off the antenna as you remove the loop.

Out of the box, this feels like a substantial and quality product. I found the accompanying instructions somewhat unclear, however with some experimenting I managed to tune to my wife's preferred FM sation - CBC. The sound was excellent and the battery life is good - we got over two weeks use, playing an average of about 3 hours/day before needing to recharge the battery. We haven't bothered trying to play music off a USB memory stick, or using any of the other features. For our purposes it's working very well.

This is amazing

Great little radio. It is perfect for bedside table and projects decent sound to bigger areas as well. I gave it 4 stars as a charging cable was not included in the box. I emailed Prunus and they’re sending me one so we’ll see. Also it is better reception on AM radio if you keep your cell phone away. It is very small but looks good and the charge lasts a long time.

Vraiment contente de ce produit, surtout parce que je ne voulais pas de batteries. Son autonomie est quand même bonne, mais vu que je l'utilise surtout chez moi, ce n'est pas un problème de le brancher. Le son est étonnement de bonne qualité et il est vraiment compact. Très satisfaite de cet achat!

Its a nice looking unit and great pocket size. The rechargeable battery is removable and is the type used in the previous generation of Nokia flip phones, many years ago. The speakers deliver a decent quality sound. The big problem is that you have to leave the radio on a shelf or table once you have found a good reception. If you move it, like carrying it in your pocket, the sound breaks down badly. As I bought it for my wife who wanted to carry it in her pocket, it definitely did not work. I returned it. On that subject, I had a terrible experience with the Intelcom/Dragonfly courrier services. They gave me a bracket from 8 am to 9 pm and no one showed-up. Next day, they gave me a 3 hours bracket (from 10 am to 1 pm) and at 6 pm still no one! I wasted a lot of time waiting for them! Avoid them!
