Kevala Raw Unfiltered Honey - 3 lb, Pure Honey for Baking and Cooking

Texture and flavor confirmed to me that this honey is raw and unfiltered. Mild earthy taste. Stronger than clover but milder than blackberry honey. I usually purchase a competitors raw clover honey in large bulk 11 lb pail. I enjoy both brands. This has a stronger flavor but quality same. A little cheaper for this brand so I tried it. Will continue to purchase both brands. P.S. One reviewer was complaining there is added "sugar" in this honey because of information on label. I'm guessing they are referring to the nutrition label information. All honey has "sugar" grams, carbohydrates. Person said they are diabetic. Runs in my family. Sorry they left negative review, not an accurate statement about honey, regardless of the brand. This "sugar" is 100% natural in honey :-) I used this in my tea. Delicious!

I grew up on a farm and my dad had beehives and an apple grove, so we had the best honey around. When I went away to college, I was forced to settle for honey from the grocery store, but I didn't like the taste, and I didn't like that it was pasteurized. I ordered Nate's for a while, then the whole heated scandal erupted, so I tried Kevala. It tastes closer to the raw honey I grew up with. I still buy honey from local farms when I can, but I use a LOT of honey because I don't like the taste of white sugar. The price is good and they seem to be reputable. Most honey is sourced from the Mexican rainforest. I would prefer honey raised in the US because so much imported honey is adulterated, but this seemed a reasonable compromise.

Wow I don’t even revieee cuz I don’t want this to price go raise n or the product to be all gone. The fragrance is heaven. It’s like idk um sweet honey heaven. A bit runny but no more than most . Taste is light flowery n sweet I’m stuck !

At the time of writing this review I cannot tell you about the quality of this honey simply because I cannot open it. I have recently started buying Kevala honey in the 3 lb containers and I love it's taste! Especially in my chai tea. So I thought I would buy two of the larger containers to stock in my pantry. Decided to check the honey upon arrival and for the past two days of struggling from time to time I cannot get it open. I even used a chisel. Vice grips. Carved off the lower lip. Pried over and over but the lid will not come off. I do appreciate a well sealed product but now I might literally have to use a power tool to cut around the top edge then transfer the honey into Mason jars for storage. Only praying that the honey is okay. If you are elderly, weak or disabled in a capacity that makes opening containers difficult then stick to buying the 3 lb jars and avoid these containers. UPDATE : Got the container open and was disappointed! The honey is not the same as the 3 lb container! 😕 The 3lb has the rich thick raw look and floral taste that I love. The 8lb container is thin and brown with a basic sugary syrup taste. It's not bad but not what I was hoping for. I know honey is a natural product and can vary but these two are world's apart. I will still use it but may avoid purchasing the larger container in the future. UPDATE JUNE 2026 : I needed a good amount of honey and decided to try the bucket of Kevala again. The last honey was not what I expected but was still good once I started using it. Thank you to Kevala for listening to your customers! 👏 Love the new container! Much easier to open! And I love the added instructions! The old container was horrible. Once cracked into I genuinely couldn't reseal it. This time I could refill my jar and close this container without worry! Also, the honey was the golden type that I really love! What a wonderful surprise. I know the honey can vary in these buckets depending on what the bees produce but with a proper opening lid it's worth the gamble! Definitely satisfied! I have been buying the 3 lb jars because I love this brand, but with this change I will be happy to take a chance on the buckets. Please continue with this new style of bucket! My hands and wrists thank you!

Updated review: I kind of feel really disappointed by this honey now, after using it for more than a month. My partner and I started feeling our teeth and gums feeling sore, which usually happens when we take refined sugar. Since we're very cautious about our diet in general, I started to think the cause may be from this honey. So, I went online and did some research. And found out about how to test if honey is real or pure and nothing added. Apparently, if you dip the tip of a matchstick in a little honey and strike it, it should light up instantly. If it doesn't or extinguishes fast after it's lit, then the honey isn't pure. I did this test, and the other pure honey that I had at home passed; the matchstick lighted up and burned as usual. This honey however, failed this test! It ignited very little, then it smouldered, and the flame died really quickly. I no longer feel like I can trust this brand anymore after doing this test. I don't think this is pure honey at all. I won't be buying this again. ---------- Old review (this was my old review when I trusted that this honey was truly raw and pure as they say): This honey is really nice and thick. It feels like there is some of the beeswax in it, as it's not clear honey but it's somewhat like a lightly creamed honey. I was quite pleasantly surprised as I've not come across honey like this in a long time. It has a very nice floral fragrance that's like orange blossom or something similar. The only thing that I find a little inconvenient is the plastic jar. More particularly the lid on it which is a little tricky to screw back on smoothly once it's opened. But I do understand why they'd use a plastic jar for shipping safety and lighter weight. I removed one star for this alone. Otherwise, the honey itself is a 5 star for me.

Best honey you can buy if you're looking for an organic, unfiltered one. The taste and the quality are consistent, and I use it freely in my coffee, tea, and other foods that need sweetener. Much healthier than sugar and price is reasonable. I get a new container every month and appreciate the ease of ordering it here on Amazon.

I waited over a month, and I thought it was a mistake or possibly tampered with because it arrived half full. I placed it on the scale, and it was in fact 8 pounds of honey exactly. The only problem is it's a shrinkflation situation where the product packaging tricks you into thinking you're getting more. competitors fill it all the way. two stars because it tastes good.
