These are great. Strong flame, and they last forever. They feel like a cheap plastic lighter, but work like a champ. If you’re lighting anything that causes you to reach out or to turn your hand in an odd way when you light it, these won’t singe your fingers. Having the flame far away from the wheel ensures you avoid a hot thumb. The price is a little high compared to picking up a single lighter at the store check out, but the quality is undeniable.

I picked up this 6-pack of BIC EZ Reach lighters to help light candles and the grill without burning my fingers, and they’ve mostly delivered. The long neck is great for safely reaching deep candle holders or awkward corners, and the easy-to-squeeze trigger works smoothly even when your hands are cold. I appreciate having a variety of colors on hand so I can keep one in the kitchen, one in the garage, and one in my camping gear. That said, I did experience a couple of misfires out of the six, where the lighter clicked but didn’t ignite on the first try. It wasn’t a deal-breaker—I just flicked again and it lit—but it’s something to be aware of if you need a 100% flawless first strike. Overall, these lighters feel sturdy, and at this price point, getting six in a pack is a great value. I’d recommend them for anyone who frequently needs a safe, extended-reach flame, just don’t expect absolute perfection every single time.

My Wife has arthritis in her hand and limited hand strength in the thumb and web of her hand. She needed a lighter that was easier to use than the current extended lighters, where a safety has to be held down and the trigger or switch has to be pressed firmly to light it. In addition you have to hold those switches and safety while you light a fire, candle, incense, or whatever. I expected a Bic Lighter to be easier to use. My wife can use the standard Bic Lighters, but they burn her thumb when she turns the lighter on it's side to light something. So I thought these lighters would be the answer, and would be the same easy to use Bic Lighter, but with an extension to prevent burning your thumb. NOPE!!! The extension is great, but the button/ switch is very firm, just like other safety lighters. So, I guess you prevent children from using them, but older folks, or those with limited hand strength are left out in the cold again. I'll have to look elsewhere because these will not work for us.

Great lighters.

These were a great purchase for me. 8 lighters for less than $12 is getting the best deal for your money. I first came across these at a dollar store and they were actually more for a two pack package than these on Amazon. I bought them for sealing frayed ribbon because a typical lighter (the gear thingy) can get warm/hot to the touch after awhile. To use these you press the button and don't have to worry about that. Plus, they work well with lighting candles. Using a standard lighter, the flame flows upward towards you. These help keep the flame further from your fingers and add that extra length to light a wick in a candle jar. Oh, and I like the variety of colors. I'll be buying these again.
