I have been using cast iron skillet for many years. I never have maintained it properly. There is a layer around the edge of burnt food along the edge that defeated my attempts to clean it. I started to research how to maintain it properly. I tried kosher salt but it just didn’t work. I read about these stainless steel chainmail scrubbers. After reviewing the offerings on Amazon, I selected this. I have used it several times now. It has not removed the burnt on food, but every time I use it, more and more is removed. It is much easier to use than kosher salt. It rinses clean easily, and I hand in on the end of a bar on a small wash cloth device that I kept next to my sinks for easy access. Overall it has improved my cast iron maintenance practices, and it is easier to use than the other ways that I tried. For me for whom cooking and cleaning up after is a chore and not passion, this product has made both of these aspects easier for me. I’ve even found the other cast iron skillets and will be cleaning them for use shortly. Therefore, rate this product with five stars. March 9, 2021 — One year update After one year of use, my two cast iron pans have improved. After each use, I use on the baked-on crud, and it has been significantly reduced. Now, my meat will slide on the skillet throughout the cooking. Clean up after cooking has become easier. I do lightly re-season the skillet after each use by heating the skillet to ensure all moisture is gone and rub with a little cooling oil.

Great a scrubber and bonus if you bought enough of them you could make some chainmail armor.

I have a variety of cast iron skillets and this little chain mail scrubber is the best! I have another "chain mail" scrubber that is wrapped around a handle and it doesn't work nearly as well as this. With this scrubber I can easily clean the juncture of the bottom on the skillets and their sides. That area want to make a build up-no chance now! It is so easy to maintain, just rinse and dry. It has a handy hanging loop, so I just store it on a hook under my sink. I recommend this chain mail scrubber for any cast iron aficionado.

It does what I wanted but I thought it was going to be in rectangle form and not just a chain form.

it washeavy,and i got the 8x6",i already had a place picked out on my wall to hang it i had it about 20 minutes and had to use it,it got the eggs out that had been there awhile.if it got any better,i couldnt stand the strain,lol.stainless steel,and should last awhile,a long while.i like this and i think you will too,beautiful chain mail.makes me want a chain mail suit and a claymore in my hand

Cleaning any cast iron skillet does take a little elbow grease, as they say, but this chainmail cleaner makes it much easier to accomplish than any other cleaner pad or scrubber I've ever used, including those from Lodge. That'd make a terrific little hostess, or Xmas gift to any fellow friends with cast iron skillets, pots and/or pans.

Seriously. How have we never had this chainmail tool?? With the collection of cast iron skillets and pans we have, this has made cleanup so much faster! It does the job perfectly -- it scours and is a breeze to rinse out and hang to dry or let sit in a kitchen towel. This was a perfect stocking stuffer for the man with all the cast iron! Absolutely would buy again (and annoyed I've never bought one before)!

Good size, works great on my large cast iron skillet!

I did Not find this product good value. It was not as effective as I was told or hoping.
