Favorite hay
My guinea pigs' favorite hay. The most seed heads and relatively low dust. It arrives quickly and is fresh.

Best quantity and quality
I've ordered many boxes of their hay over the past few years, once every 30-40 days, and they're always stuffed full; last months order was overfull and bulging so much I'm surprised the box didn't rupture. Much appreciated! The quality has always been good-to-great and absolutely amazing with my most recent purchase - a new cut. I was worried my bun wouldn't eat 1st cutting timothy hay as it's a little more straw like than the grassier 2nd cutting (we tried oat hay and alfalfa hay briefly in the past, bun wasn't a fan) but our bun started having some digestive cecotrope issues and we had to remove all sweets and treats. I read that 1st cut Timothy hay is better for buns with digestive issues and decided we should try a box hoping bun would grow to like it as she's very food motivated. To my surprise bun loves the new hay even more than the old 2nd cut tim hay or orchard grass she usually gets. She's been devouring it and even drags a long strand or two with her when she runs up to greet us (or beg for fresh leaves whenever the fridge opens) but it was so cute, she's almost 3 and has never brought her hay anywhere before so I'm guessing it's good stuff. She seems happy and eager to eat it. Our next box should be here tomorrow and assuming the quality is roughly the same this will become our new norm. Good stuff 👍 ((I know there's variation in hay but it needs to be longer strands, not chopped or overly dusty, and free of pest insects other animals feces which I got in a box of hay from another brand.))

Best hay ever
This brand is far superior to my old brand. The hay is so much nicer, it’s fresh, it’s not smashed, it smells good and it has all the fluffy parts intact that are my bunny’s favorite.

Good hay, some grasshoppers
This is pretty good hay and I love that in comes in a plastic free box. It can be very large so I recommend that you store it in a closet or high place if you have a free roam bunny. Mine chewed the box open! My bunny seemed to enjoy it just as much as any hay. Occasionally I find dead/dried grasshoppers in all of the Small Pet Select hay varieties, but it is not that big of a deal and if anything shows how fresh it is.

1st cut worth it
We’ve used both 2nd and 1st cut and the first cut is my favorite. We have two guinea pigs and they love the flower and have been eating a lot more which is great! Worth the price the box always makes it so easy to use and easy to store, I’ve used other brands and after our first buy we kept coming back to this one. I appreciate the bulk amount it makes it last longer and it’s better than what I found in stores.

Nothing select about it anymore
Nothing "select" about it anymore. The quality of hay has significantly declined over the last year and we just cancelled our bi-weekly subscription after 3+years of loyalty to the brand. Our last 5 boxes of first cut were more like second cut, which our elderly rabbit cannot tolerate. In addition to that, the boxes are loaded with dust and debris of all sorts. We've found everything from dead grasshoppers and mice to an entire glove. We also have noted a foul resinous odor to the hay in the last several boxes and hay that was clearly dead before being dried. I have serious doubts that any quality control happens at all. This most recent box, aka the straw that broke the camel's back, is loaded with rye or barley seed heads and presumably the other parts of those grasses, which are also not well tolerated by rabbits. Apparently, they expect the consumer to do their QC for them. Fortunately, Amazon is great about refunds though that does little to help with sourcing good, quality hay for our small pets. I just wonder if they are hand-packing boxes or of that's a lie. How can they not see how poor the quality is? Did your worker not realize their glove came off or was simply too lazy or uncaring to retrieve it? Photo reflects only what we found on the top layer. Now I get to spend several hours sifting through it because I actually care about what my rabbit eats.

Small pet select Timothy hay (1st cut
This 1st cut Timothy hay is a really good option if you’re looking for something high in fibre to support your pet’s digestion and dental health. It has a coarser texture with more stems and seed heads, which is great for keeping teeth worn down and encouraging natural chewing. It also smells fresh and natural, which definitely helps with getting pets interested in eating it. That said, it’s not the softest hay, so fussier pets or smaller animals might pick around the thicker pieces. There can also be some variation between boxes since it’s a natural product. Overall though, it’s a solid quality hay—especially suited for rabbits or guinea pigs that benefit from a higher fibre diet rather than softer cuts.

Ottimo Fieno!
Primo pacco finito.
