Functional, Sturdy, Stylish
Bought this bracket for my Sony ZV-1 bc I do a lot of self-tape auditions on a tripod and needed to offset the mount and allow the battery door to stay swung open to accommodate my dummy power supply for the camera. When off the tripod, this case gives the camera a sturdier grip and fell which I like. So many vertical and horizontal mounting options. The wooden grip is a nice touch.

Works but a little bulky
This SmallRig L-shape bracket with wooden grip for the Sony ZV-1 solves a couple of critical problems with the camera - mainly that out of the box you can't open the battery compartment when it's on a tripod because the door is too close and the baseplate will prevent it from opening. That is a serious problem when you are using the camera as a webcam like I do most often. This SmallRig bracket lets me attach a tripod mount to the bottom and still have the battery door open with a battery AC adapter plugged in. I can use it as a webcam for 2+ hour meetings with no problems. I've tried taking the camera on vacation to use as a point and shoot to capture some family photos and videos, but the SmallRig handle makes it just a little too big to be pocketable. That's a shame because I don't often like to carry a backpack or bag with me. I'm currently looking for a bottom bracket that isn't quite as bulky. I do like the extra grip and the wooden handle looks really sharp. If that's the look you're going for this SmallRig bracket looks top notch and is made extremely well.

The perfect pairing
I wanted to start carrying a camera daily with me and leave my larger full frame cameras at home. Just something to take better photos/video of my kids in a day-to-day setting. The ZV1, to me, is a MUCH better value than the RX100 VII. Obviously slightly different use cases, but for what it is, it's great. But that little tiny grip left a LOT to be desired. Entire the Smallrig L bracket with the wood grip. It looks super classy. It's very light so doesn't add much heft to the camera (important for my EDC desires) and the grip is just enough to feel secure in the hand. It's designed perfectly to not extend out past the lens when the camera is off, so it doesn't add much bulk dimensionsly to the camera's slim dimensions either. Overall it's a home run.

Solid parts
Only 4 stars as while it does seem solid I have no way to tell how it functions as intended and can't recommend it for that however as a base to mod it's a solid choice if you regularly use a macro lens and can't use one of the around lens cages or you just don't like the on lens cages on a Sony ZV1FM2 and don't mind modifying it a little bit the hole where it has the unc bolt for attaching to the camera has to go and drill a new hole for the 1fm2 and your mostly good to go it fits snuggly to the bottom and is good on weight. However if your thinking about grabbing this to do the same it is a bit loose after the initial modification to the bolt placement and requires another attachment or custom modification to remain in place consistently.

Comfortable extender grip
This bracket is amazing on the Sony ZV-1. Not only does it offer an extension to the small grip included on the camera. It also has extra screw mount holes on the bottom and the side of the camera. So if you want to shoot vertical you can do so without having to alter your tripod. The extra holes on the bottom help with being able to remove the battery/SD card especially on the ZV-1 without removing the tripod. All in all a great investment and very worth it for what it adds to the camera.

Best accessories to get
This cage/grip greatly improves the functionality of the camera greatly! The ergonomic of the design is flawless. Easily attached with the provided allen key in seconds. Now I can get a better grip on the camera and ample mounting options. Because of the build Iโm less worried about damaging my camera when I set it on tough surfaces.

Leaves room for flash but has good grip
Standard cages add a bar across the top that can limit compatibility with low sitting flashes like the Godox IT30. This leaves the top open for hotshoe accessories while still adding good grip to the camera.

Great build quality
Extremely good build quality. It feels heavy, not insanely so, but enough to tell that it was made with care. It's only connected by the base, but feels firm and locked in during movement. Wood looks realistic, not cheap. Doesn't fade over use or time. I'd buy again if I ever misplaced it

The Perfect Accessory Grip For The ZV-1
SmallRig makes the absolute BEST camera accessories, and this grip for the ZV-1 is no exception. The metal plate is very nicely machined, the wood handle is gorgeous and there are SO MANY mounting locations for accessories it's incredibly easy to set up your shooting rig to meet your exact needs. The grip itself is a huge plus on a small camera like the ZV-1. I feel a lot more confident that I'm not going to accidently drop the camera, and I feel like it makes for a more steady grip on the camera when shooting video. My only wish would be that they'd include the appropriately-sized allen key for the mounting screw, and a place to store it in the base, but that's a minor issue and doesn't detract from the quality and utility of this grip.

perfect fit, does the job
Purchased the bracket so I could supply power all the time to the camera (as a webcam), and it fulfills that need. Also makes the ZV-1 fit in the hand properly when used as a standalone camera.

A must have!
Iโm sure youโve likely seen many reviews online about the small rig - but honestly, one of the best things to buy for your camera is- especially if you have a ZV-1. I love the fact it gives you a better grip on the camera overall, but having an array of mounting holes opens you up to a world of possibilities when it comes to mounting. I use mine for taping at home and Iโm able to sit it on a tripod, have a dummy battery plugged in - without sacrificing any space or having to constantly take it off and put it back on the tripod. Minimal in its form factor, and a great accessory to own.

adds a real flair
This is a small camera so it feels more secure to have the rig, and the wood looks really good. but I had to return the camera because the battery life makes it unusable for videos longer than 20 minutes.
