Worth every cent!
This has become my โgo toโ knife, everything about this knife is perfect, the feel, the way it cuts, the balance and the sharpness. If I could only have 1 knife, this would be it!

Japan wins
Careful its sharp. Japanese craftsmanship is superior. So light that there is barely any pressure on your wrists.

Beyond com-pare, sorry
You wonโt regret getting this. Super sharp, not too small, not too big, obviously a higher order paring knife and since thatโs the kind of knife I use the most, why not splurge ?

Good quality
As a culinary worker, I love this brand of knives; they are of very good quality.

awesome blade, half the cost of traditional Shun
I'm a huge advocate for Shun knives. I love the classic ones (although I wish I could afford some of the fancier ones). I can't, though, bring myself to pay $80 for a paring knife, so that's when I tried this one. The blade and handle aren't like the traditional, but the edge is still very sharp and cuts things beautifully. We'll see how it holds up in the long run, but so far so good. Get one!

Gorgeous, Sharp, but not as nice as the Classic
I got this knife as a present for my mother in law who is learning to cook, but doesn't want something overly fancy. This knife is super sharp, comfortable to hold and beautiful to look at. It comes out of the box ready to make paper thin slices, which is really fun. My only concern is the durability. It is not a full-tang knife, which for the price is totally fine. Eventually, I worry that it might have to be replaced. With that said, it comes with a lifetime guarantee, so if it breaks at some point, it can just be replaced. Overall, it is a total bargain and I loved using it. If you have the extra money, go for the Shun classic. If not, this is a great knife at a great price.

Light, Comfortable, Holds An Edge... Perfect!
This is my second Shun Sora knife, also I got one last Christmas. I have made most of my family food at home for 40+ years, so I know what a difference a good, sharp knife brings to the chopping table (pun included). I had a decent brand of German stainless steel (X50CrMoV15) knifes, but I was constantly sharpening them and yes, I do sharpen with a high-quality whetstone. I was concerned about the handles at first, so it appeared to feel a little on the less expensive side and the next level of Shun was more than I wanted to pay, but this synthetic handle is more antimicrobial, so itโs better for sanitary care. If you use a hand sharpener it might scratch the sides of your blade. I keep mine on a magnetic strip in my kitchen that caused a few scratches, but I was able to buff them out. These keep an edge longer the any of my other knifes.

Great Buy
This knife was everything I wanted it to be! The sleekness of a Shun with the utility purposes of a paring knife. I loved this design because it is light and easy to handle. The plastic handle and price range is the reason for my purchase. A solid knife with the ability to stay sharp and well kept but able to take the beating out everyday paring knives do.

Torn up box
I was very upset with the way my package arrived, when you pay a high price for a high end knife and it comes all ratty in a box, the box was ripped, and I am unsure if the knife is ok Iโll probably be sending it back, it was the one gift my husband would be getting as he loves his kitchen knives and this one looks like I dug it out of a garage sale, embarrassing to say the least, Iโll be returning it and order a different knife for his Feb BD.

Crazy glue first aid on hand
Wow this knife is really sharp out of the box and cuts quickly. Seldom to I need to use glue to close the cuts. This paring knife is expensive . I am replacing numerous knives that will not hold an edge, proving this knife economical.
