Will this fit an elongated toilet seat?

Yes. Just place the seat close to the front edge so it creates the perfect sized seat for your little one.

What is the exact weight limit. My 4.5-year-old sits on it, but it looks like it could buckle. She's probably close to 50 lbs.

There have been times I couldn’t balance everything in a public toilet with my granddaughter and I was able to sit on the potty hippo. I’m 5’3” 130lbs and it didn’t collapse so I believe 50 lbs would be safe.

Is this easy to remove from the public toilet seat (like an airplane toilet)?

Very easy. You just click open the tabs that hold it in place, then place the seat on top of the toilet. When you are finished, just pick the seat back up and fold to put away. There is nothing that makes it difficult to attach or remove from the toilet seat. There is rubber under the travel potty seat to keep it in place and prevent it from sliding around.
