WIX Filters - 46438 Heavy Duty Radial Seal Car Outer Air Filter, Pack of 1

This aftermarket filter was an exact fit for my John Deere 1025R.

I installed the WIX 46438 Heavy Duty air filter on my diesel mower and found it performed well under tough conditions. The build quality is excellent: the sealing gasket seated tightly, and the filter media felt robust and premium. It held up through dusty cuts without any visible collapse and maintained consistent airflow on my gauge. Since this mower sees long hours in rough pasture conditions, the “heavy duty” tag makes sense — this filter offers more durability and protection than standard filters. However, it comes with a couple of caveats. If you’re only doing light mowing, the benefit may be modest compared to a standard filter. Also, because the media is denser, there’s a slight delay in throttle response until things warm up, which is noticeable in a high-rpm mowing deck. Bottom line: For a diesel mower operating in demanding conditions—long hours, dusty fields, stop-and-go cutting—this WIX 46438 is a solid choice. For lighter use, you’ll still get quality but maybe not the full heavy-duty value.
