Great for in-between root touchups
I have dark hair, so my roots become super obvious as my hair grows out. Since I don't want to color my hair every 2 weeks, I need something to fill in between dye jobs. I've tried a few of these root touchups, including the powder/brush kind, and this is by far the best. When I was using the powder touchup, I couldn't seem to really cover the gray. This takes just a second to apply and covers completely. I have medium reddish-brown hair (I use 6RB color), so I actually use two of these for touchups. The red is a little too red and the brown is a little too brown, so I use the light brown first and then a little red and I find it blends perfectly. One note though, be sure to apply to the back of your head as well. I was focused on the front and top and caught a photo of myself from behind where I could see the gray roots. Not making that mistake again!

Exactly what I wanted.
I needed this because my hair grows literally 1/2 and inch each 3 weeks. My roots are silver. So after being ash blonde for 10 years I knew my new auburn hair was going to need extra attention. The shade is perfect. It covers tue roots and small areas that I might have missed in the application of the dye. It is a little messy until you can get a feel for the force the spray comes out. In all it's great. Does not come off on pillows and truly stays put in between applications.

It worked
I bought red color one. Itโs darker than I expected. It has white smoke with mild smell coming out when I was spraying it, I tried to hold my breath when I was using it. I would recommend it when you need to go to public but donโt have time to get your gray hair colored. Oh, remember to use dark towel cover your shoulders to avoid it spraying on your clothes.

The best available
I have dyed copper-red hair, and covering the roots between trips to the salon is tough. All the other root sprays or powders Iโve tried are more brown than red, and this is the best of them. For reference, my roots are white โ I donโt think it would work well on dark roots. CONS: Difficult to regulate the spray, so you can sometimes overdo it; itโs still more brown than red and a little dark, but my trick is to put it on while my hair is wet and blow-dry it in.

Works, but more brown than red
Update 4/16/22: I used this for the formal event I referenced below and I was honestly shocked at how long it lasted. I used the product on a Thursday and didnโt wash my hair again until Sunday and the color correction was STILL there. I donโt love the feel of it - it feels like a heavy dry shampoo - but at least it doesnโt budge. I was interested in this because itโs one of the few root touch-up products with a red option. So, this review is for all the unnatural redheads out there. I have dark auburn-ish colored hair and mousy mid-brown roots. Grays arenโt really a concern right now, though I have a few of them. I was mostly concerned about the obvious regrowth, especially since I have a formal event to attend next week and my next color appointment isnโt until next month. The first pic shows the โbefore.โ As you can see in the 2nd and 3rd pics, Iโd say the product covers the new growth, but only by shading it darker than red (itโs more brown) and disguising the obvious line between the hair dye and my roots. I really wanted this to be red - not brown - and Iโm also annoyed at how easily the color comes off on fingers. (However, itโs easy to wash off.) I will have to report back on the longevity of this product once itโs in your hair. I will probably keep this and try to find a better product. It will do for the event next week but itโs not the best choice.

Natural Redheads
I am a natural redhead with more copper tones to my hair. I've started getting these awful white hairs coming in that stick straight up around my bangs and part. I'm not ready to start doing anything drastic yet about it, like dying my whole head of hair. I thought this spray might be a decent temporary alternative, and I was right! Firstly, ignore anything about using this on dry hair -- Just don't do it! It will be splotchy and uneven, and will get on your scalp. I've found the perfect way to apply is when hair is damp (not wet!) and brushable. Hold about 4 inches from your roots, and spray a small amount at a time, then gently brush through your hair from root to tip to blend out. Even if this red isn't your exact shade, the blending will make it still look natural. Will not come off on your pillow when allowed to completely dry. I need to note that this red shade is for NATURAL and natural-looking Redheads! If you dyed your hair with Kool-Aid, or whatever, do NOT expect this shade to work for you. I noticed a few women complaining about this in the reviews -- Your solution lies in a container of Manic Panic and pair of rubber gloves, my friend. This is a great product, though I will say, the can doesn't last long. I only bought one to try it out, but next time I'll be stocking up!
