Kala KA-TK-T-CE Teak Tri-Top Tenor Acoustic-Electric Ukulele

This is my third KALA ukulele. It is remarkably the best ukulele at this price point/level. It looks amazing, feels high quality, and has great features/functions. The tone is deeper and richer than most concert-sized ukuleles I have played. Another guy in my band bought the tenor version of this, and I would say the same things about it. I do have other ukuleles that have brighter tones, but this is a great option for a change. I highly recommend this.

It sounds great and very fun to play

I have had my Kala teak tri-top tenor ukelele for at least a year now. It sounds absolutely gorgeous, which makes me want to play it all the time. It almost sounds like a harp when I pluck the strings in the right spot over the neck. The electronics and tuner are a great addition, and the price is very fair for what you get. My only small complaint is that the frets are pretty sharp on the sides. At least they are sharper on the bottom side and more towards the higher end notes, so it's not really a problem for me. I know I can always file them down a little if needed (a fret file tool is only $5-$10) so it's a non issue but worth mentioning. I do highly recommend this ukelele. I love it so much! It's so satisfying and easy to play, and looks great too! Kala is the best!

I wanted to purchase this from an online music retailer, but they were sold out and this seller on Amazon happened to have one for the same price, so I bought it here. I've received so many compliments on it. It's a very nice looking ukulele. The tri-color teak wood design is very appealing. The added bonus is the built in tuner. It's started to get a little fret buzz, which is a little odd considering it's new, but this is a starter ukulele for me so I'm not too overly concerned. It was only $100. If I had paid $1,000 I might be more concerned about that. The only reason why this didn't receive 5 stars is because it didn't come with the padded gig bag as advertised in the listing's title. I didn't buy this for a gig bag and I ended up purchasing my own directly from the manufacturer, so no harm no foul. I do recommend updating the product description as that is misleading and somewhat dishonest. Again, I don't really care, but someone else might. In the end, It sounds great, looks great, and I am ultimately pleased with this purchase.

The treble, mid, and bass adjustments and the onboard tuner are decidedly a step up from the last plug-in uke I’ve been playing in class and concerts. As with most instruments at this price point, I opted to deepen the grooves in the bridge and the nut (hobby files from an inexpensive hardware store) in order to lower the action and allow the instrument to play better in tune. The slightly convex back and deeper upper-fret-cutout are wonderful advantages over most other instruments in this ballpark and I am very happy to have this by my side with my 600 little ones.

Let me preface this by saying I am a huge Kala Fanboy. I have two other Kala ukuleles and they are both fantastic, beautiful, play great, and sound great. I recommend the Kala brand to everyone. Do not buy this Kala. It is hit or miss if you get a good one. we bought 3 total, 2 concerts and a tenor, from various different sellers, the first concert to arrive was a pretty nice ukulele, a little rough on the construction but played and sounded well with no obvious problems. we ended up keeping that one and its pretty nice. The tenor was not well made, its craftsmanship was sloppy, the wood choices were bad at best, and there was excess glue on joints and blemishes in the finish. big gouges. The second concert we got had the same issues as the tenor and had the wires for the electric parts stretched across the sound hole, wood chips coming out from under the jack/battery compartment, an improperly shaped neck with finish slapped over it. completely unacceptable condition. The only good parts were that they sounded okay and the tuners worked fine, but they are Aquila strings and you can put those on a 2x4 and it will sound nice. To end my wall of text: You can spend close to the same amount on another uke and get a much more reliable result. I paid 95 bucks for a Lohanu Acoustic Electric Concert scale (the tenor is only 5 bucks more, but i already have a nice tenor) and got FAR superior product that sounded every bit as good as my higher end Kala ukuleles. Don't settle on poor quality just because its priced in the beginner range.

Apesar de um preço acessível, esperava mais de um KALA nesta faixa de preço. O captador elétrico funciona perfeitamente, mas o que peca no ukulele é a entonação, apesar da altura das cordas estar muito boa. Tive que rebaixar mais a minha avaliação, sendo que a descrição acima foi enquanto com as cordas originais, Aquila. Quando fui trocar pelas cordas Dadario Clear Nylon tive a triste surpresa com as tarraxas de péssima qualidade. Um ukulele fabricado em Março de 2023 com as engrenagens das tarraxas presas, o que acarretou na deformação do botão de uma. Tive que trocar as tarraxas. Tive que baixar tanto a altura das pestana quanto do rastilho para diminuir a força dos dedos na 1ª casa. E a entonação continuou ruim já que a largura da 1ª casa é maior do que o padrão. Hoje concordo com outras avaliações: parece que sequer houve um checklist de qualidade.

It is really hard to find a nice looking concert ukulele with pick-up without breaking bank. This one not only looks beautiful, but had a nice round sound. You could restring it if you wanted to improve it even more, but it is amazing as it is. Was skeptical because of some negative reviews, but I own several other Kala Ukuleles and they never disappoint.

Arriva un ukulele col cavo interno danneggiato. Prodotto in pessime condizioni. Ossidato e di scarsissima qualità e manifattura (contrariamente ai Kala prodotti in California). Come se non bastasse, attacco il jack e non amplifica!!!! Cavo interno danneggiato... siete vergognosi!!!

Very disappointed to have received what I believe to be a ukulele that has already been returned due to its poor set up and finish. None of the labels were attached and it also didn’t come with a gig bag as advertised and the supplier just blamed Amazon for advertising it incorrectly. I am now in the process of trying to get a refund.

Llego en perfectas condiciones, el sonido es muy bueno en acústico y enchufado, la calidad del instrumento y la madera son excelentes, fue una gran compra!
